So I saw this in the update thread, and I love ghost stories myself. After I read the fic I actually went and read all these “eywitness accounts”of Bloody Mary. And of course I need to see Sleepy Hollow again – for various reasons. But yes, I heart ghost stories.

I actually think it’s really funny that they start really small, almost as if the prospect of a Muggle gag is so hilarious to them, like the spider. It just makes me laugh, that perhaps they’d find that a little scarier than Lily because she’s a Muggleborn.

The humour between the Maraudes is nice, comfortable and funny. Very relaxed and natural. I don’t like it when people have them popping jokes out every two seconds, it’s like, they were seriously not the try-hards you’re depicting them as. Sheesh. And the undertones Sirius projects to Peter are… expected, but part of canon and a safe addition to any marauder era. It’s not a bad thing, it’s just a teensy by overused. I mean, doesn’t Remus even like him?

And the ending – I do understand it was prompted, so maybe it was supposed to end with that quote or something. But it seemed to end in the middle of the story, in a way. We didn’t get to see Remus or Sirius’ expressions, their opinions, or Lily’s really… physically emotional response to the Boggart. I think perhaps a little more emphasis on her face would have been nice, but the action of putting her fingers to his lips was very welcome. I’m not exactly sure how to approach it, how much more you could add to round it up. Maybe other people will read it differently, but that’s just…my interpretation.

I loved the whoel Boggart thing, though. James / Lily’s Boggarts were genius. Very fitting of Lily’s character for Petunia to appear. The description of Petunia was good, too. By leaving out the “horse-faced” comment, the responder was as blind to who she was as Lily. Unintentional or quite planned, it was good!
