So happy I stumbled onto this story tonight. What a great read... and provides some satisfying closure to it all. Nice job keeping everyone in character in a situation we really haven't ever seen them in before.

I absolutely loved this story... Fred's death, along with Dobby's, hit me the hardest in DH... I know that JKR had her reasons, but I always thought that it would have been better to kill Bill or Charlie, if she wanted to kill off a Weasley brother.... I mean Fred and George are a set!!! :( And I've always felt like because it took place in the middle of the last battle, rather than earlier, like Dobby's, Fred's death wasn't given the proper closure it should have had. Thankfully, this story was here to save the day! It really did provide me with some closure, as corny as that sounds. I bawled, especially at the part when George was crying "Why did you leave me?" Such a tear jerker.... Overall, an amazing and well written edition to JKR's legacy. Favorited!

great job. I loved this. It was so real, like this is exactly how the funeral would have went

Author's Response: Thanks so much! I really needed some closure, myself... and I really wanted to capture the day, with all of it's little moments. So I'm glad you felt I did it at least some justice :) Thanks again!

That was one of the most beautiful piece of work that I've ever read. To be honest, I don't think the 7th book really did Fred's death any justice and this story not only provided closure for yourself but for me also and I thank you for that.

Author's Response: Thank you so much--I know it pales in comparison to anything Jo would've written herself, but I think I needed something, at least--so I'm glad it helped you a bit too :) thanks again!

amazing, once again. seriously, I loved this again- it sounds pretty stupid but for the past 24 hours I keep seeing the 'never leave me' scene in my head... which proves that I am clearly lacking a life (but if it sticks in my head, it has to be REALLY good ha). awesome job!

Author's Response: thank you! I'm very glad you liked it--that little scene was one of my favorites to write. it's small, but I just wanted a glimpse or two of everyone reacting and growing through such a devastating experience, while keeping Harry at the center... anyhow, thanks again!

This is truly brilliant, a good lesson on how to deal with grief in others and yourself. It was truly original and very nice to put Luna as the one to read George's speech. I also liked how you didn't make Harry and Ginny get back together until later, after some shared moments of grieving first. In one part, however, you used the word "peace" where it should've been "piece" but other than that you had no really noticeable mistakes. Great job, this is a truly fantastic story!

Author's Response: First off--sorry for the typo--I hate those, especially in my own writing! I'll try to find it and fix it... Anyhow, thanks so much for the compliments! I'm glad you saw a large part of what I was trying to get at--with the grief, especially. Thanks again!

You had to make me cry, didn't you?
And I don't cry.
Haertbreaking but a wonderful tribute to one of the best chracters in the series.

Author's Response: Thank you so much--sorry for the tears, though!

Wonderful story. You captured the characters so well. Luna's dialogue was exceptionally well done.

Author's Response: Thanks so much! :)

Great Story, a perfect ending, but I think that Harry behave a little bit out of character, cox' Harry have loses manyn friends he should know how to behave!!!

Author's Response: Thanks :) I can understand what you're saying about Harry, but if you'll indulge me, I think I can clarify: I wasn't saying he didn't know how to behave at all, but like I said in the fiction, he was a bit out of sorts with it--this is a somewhat different situation than he's had to deal with in the past, even though he's had a lot of experience with death. Often times, in the past, the person who died was more connected to him than to other people (ie the Weasleys, in this case); plus, Harry ususally doesn't have the luxury of going through the proper grieving process, and being able to fully absorb a situation like the Weasleys and their friends are going through--that the whole wizarding world was going through. And to be honest, Harry hasn't always acted his best in the past either! (Though it is somewhat understandable...) At any rate, thanks again!

This was almost perfect. I've read a few fics on the reuniting of Harry and Ginny, but this one is the only one that is in character and written well, well done!
A tear actually came to my eye at George's speech, you made that very moving.
There were very few grammatical errors, which is brilliant, they really annoy me :)
The only criticism I could make about this fic is that perhaps George wasn't always in character, but the rest was so well-written it kind of cancels that :)
Going to favourites!

Author's Response: thanks so much! first off--please tell me if there are grammatical errors, they drive me crazy too and I'll be sure to fix them! as to your other notes--thank you for the constructive criticism, I thrive on it! I knew I had to address things like Harry and Ginny, but I wanted to make it believeable while not focusing on it too much--it is from Harry's perspective after all, and it is obviously something that's important to him. I really wanted him to have a very true experience--a day long journey in a much longer one... as to George, I can see what you mean about out of character, but I was thinking about it a lot--honestly, we don't get too much of his character in the books, beyond the mischevious prankster (not to say there aren't little hints)--and I read recently where Jo talked about how Fred was always the more dominant of the two, and George was a little more quiet, a little more... sensitive, maybe? At any rate, I know something like this would profoundly affect him, and would cause a turbulence of emotions and seemingly disparate reactions. Again, I just tried to have him experience something honest--still George, but now it's George by himself, and it's George who is just starting to go through something that has completely changed his world. Nevertheless, I completely respect what you're saying--if there are particular things that stuck out to you, let me know--I'd love to keep them in mind for future portrayals of his character. Thanks again!

*sniff* good story! i loved how luna read george's speech! how typical of her!!

Author's Response: thanks, it seemed like something she would do... and I felt like she was always one of the characters who had a better handle on death... thanks again!

Wow...that was amazing. Wow wow wow wow wow. That is EXACTLY how I would imagine it played out in the alternate reality that is Harry's world. Sad, sad, sad. I loved Fred...and everyone misses him...Poor George especially. This is really quite excellent, truthfully and skillfully written.

Author's Response: Thank you for your compliments--I'm blushing :) I miss Fred as well, just had to write a little tribute to him... Thanks again!

mo! dont stop writing this story. its really good! I love the way that you have really captured the true essence of the main characters ie harry, hermione, ron, george...

Author's Response: thank you! I try very hard to stay true to the characters that Jo created... I'm afraid this is just a one-shot, but keep an eye out for a longer story I'm working on!

This story is one of the best that I have ever read. I had tears in my eyes the whole time, and I was literally crying my eyes out at the part describing the service. I had to stop and go get tissue! I really like how you said it seemed like even the Burrow itself was mourning, and I was actually also crying at the part where George had jumped into Fred's grave. I like that you had Ron being the one to realize that he and Harry just needed to let George get it out of his system. All in all, definitely one of the best stories I've read. I knew from the beginning of DH, when George lost his ear and Fred talked about his own wedding, that something would happen to Fred by the end, and no death made me angrier or sadder than his. It took me a long time to accept that all nine of the Weasley's could not make it out alive, as Molly (I think) predicted in OOTP. I look forward to reading anything else you have to offer!

Author's Response: Thanks! Sorry for the tears, but I'm glad you felt I did it justice--it was rather hard to write... I did hate to see him go... but like you (and Molly), I guess I always knew they couldn't all make it out unscathed. As for other fictions, I do have an admittedly fluffy r/hr story up, if that suits you... I'm working on getting a new, longer one up for the new year as well, so keep an eye out! Thanks again for the review; they are, as always, much appreciated :)

This is a beautiful story. Thank you for such a meaningful, sensitive story of grief.

Author's Response: Thank you very much, I'm glad you thought so. It's a long process--grieving--but I wanted to show Harry and the Weasleys begin that journey (hard though it may be) heading in a positive direction, together.

This was great, and beautifully written! I was crying almost the whole time, sobbing like I did when I read the part in DH when Fred died.
I really liked how you described the Burrow as if it too was grieving. The service was beautiful, and I really liked how Luna stepped up. I can't believe those other people who were muttering things about George. He just lost his twin, what did they expect?
And, despite all the tears, there were several parts that made me chuckle, and they were placed just in the right spots to relieve some of the sadness.
I don't usually put one shots on my favorites, but this story is definitely on there.
Well, I guess that all there's left to say is...'Ear, 'ear!!! ;-)

Author's Response: Haha, thank you! I'm sorry I made you cry, tho I suppose maybe it's a good sign, considering...? :) And I'm honored that you thought it worthy of your favorites--one shot or not! I'm planning on working on a new, longer story soon tho, so keep an eye out :)
