Author's Response: Actually, yes. I submitted the next and final chapter ages ago and it was rejected for technical errors. I just haven't gotten around to re-submitting it...it's been like 6 months. I've been working on another story that I like better, though; look for it up on the site in a week or two.
Great story so far. I loved the line at the beginning;
"I heard Ron’s snort of laughter from the opposite side of the room. I smiled in spite of myself."
So cute!
And are we going to see Hermione destroy the Horcrux? I wonder how she'll react to it...

And about the laughing thing, I really liked it. It was very realistic, because a little thing like that WOULD set them off when they were under so much pressure. Especially Ron.
Overall, great story, and I can't wait to see more!

The idea is interesting. There are some little things that make this piece so-so though. I feel that the characters -Ron and Hermione- aren't in-character enough. They are like...not serious enough. I know you said it was the stress and all but...it is a little bit unlikely that with the battle two feet away, they'd waste a whole 10 minutes joking and laughing about the noises they made as they attempted to speak parseltongue. I'm not saying its bad! I'm saying it was a little over-done. I hope I don't sound mean or anything, really! Maybe it's just me. It's my opinion...
Nonetheless, I really look forward to the second part! I hope they won't waste any more time! I do wonder, will they encounter any other obstacles on the way there? Will the Basilisk's spirit be haunting the place or something? Or will they just go and retrieve the venom? And how will they get the fang out (if they'll take a fang) - because Harry had used the sword...
