And to answer your questions - I hadn't thought about writing the conversation between Meldrum and Dean. Have to think about that. I have the entire concept in my head (and the bare skeleton of chapters down on paper), but the entire story is not yet written. However, I do have the final two chapters absolutely complete and they're good ones, so I truly want to get there, trust me! Stay tuned. cj

After finally heading the advice of my daughters, I just recently finished reading all of the books and thoroughly enjoyed them! So now I've been combing the net looking for more stories to keep me going.
I am enjoying your take on the 'nineteen years' between the last chapter and epilogue of "The Deathly Hallows". Please keep up the good work and I am look forward to reading your next chapter in your story.
Author's Response: I had to chuckle when I read how you had to be convinced by your daughters to read HP. If you read my author's profile, you will see that I have now successfully convinced my dh to read the books, as well.
I also had to smile at your username. I recently had to write a paper for one of my night courses that necessitated me using a fictitious student. I named him 'Jim Bob Joe'! LOL!

Author's Response: Thanks very much! I am working on the next chapter as we 'speak'. It is an interesting point you raise - namely whether what an author intended necessarily is what a reader understands. My father (a writer of original works) would argue that it matters not, as what a reader understands is what a reader understands, regardless of the intentions of the author. The information in my psychology courses maintain that the book or story that one reader understands is different from another reader's understanding, and different again from what the author wrote, as our perceptions are all unique! For the record, when I wrote the scene (if I have the one you mean), I was trying to convey the idea that Ginny basically rolls her eyes at the invitation that Ron sends and at Ron and Hermione's relationship. Ginny believes that no invitation will need to pass between her and Harry as they assume they will attend together. But your take is rather interesting to me, and it would add a great twist to the scene! Another argument perhaps? Stay tuned! cj

OMG! I thought this story was gone it hadn't been updated in so long! Luckily it's still in my faves! You are absolutly amazing! This is exactly how Jo would've written it! I love how Ron remembers Hermione's birthday instead of Harry! Lol! But it's so sad about Fleurs baby:(. There will probably be another one in this story though right? And whoaz the Triwizard. That's a little cliche, but I love how you made it your own with the Cedric Memorial tournament or something. And OMG! When Ron asks Hermione to the Yule Ball, wow! Now that's genouis! Update soon, soon, SOON!
Author's Response: Nope, not gone, I was just super busy with my night courses and papers coming out of my brain! thanks so much for still being interested in it! Next chappie will hopefully be up before too long has passed. Fleur's baby, yeah. I messed up the timing of that. AFTER I'd written in the bit where she is pregnant, I found out that her baby was actually born on the anniversary of the Great Battle. Unfortunately, my sources did not say whether Victoire was born the year after, or two. The maths (from the epilogue of DH) works out to two years later, though. My story will be off, but oh well. I'll call it poetic or dramatic license or something. Thanks for all the positive comments! cj

Wow! I just love where this story is going! I think it's great to bring back the tri-wizard tournament and it really does seem like something Cedric's parents would do. Oh, and I absolutely loved the ending! Way to go, Ron! :)

Great job!!!!!! I think this might be the best fanfic chapter I have ever read! It's well-written, has a good plot, ties into the story, and, my favorite, Hermione and Ron get their dream date!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yay!!!!!!!!!!!!! OH MY GOSH! Ron sending Pig to Hermione about asking her before anybody else did was soooo romantic...and it was really awesum writing for u to pull that from the 4th book..when she said it then it didnt seem like a big deal...but ron doing that was really, a little unexpected, and realllly realllly good!! i luv it!! ^_^

I needed to intro the Tournament but wanted to not waste too much time on it, hence the shorter nature of it. Next one is longer, I promise. cj

Lovely chapter. Another Tri-Wizard Tournament? Some how I'm not sure the Diggorys would have done that, but good setup for what's to come. I loved how Ron made sure he asked Hermione "straight away" I think she put it.
