Holy cow Alison! That was amazing!

I'm in awe of your writing skills. Rodolphus has never been so, so, what's the word I'm looking for... so- believable and multilayered. This showed such a different side to him and I absolutely loved it.

Keep up the great work! Rodolphus has a wonderful champion in you. ~Wendy

Chapter: Only Him

Wow. Wow. Wow.

First of all, I'm pretty sure a story from Rodolphus's point of view is pretty rare. That alone makes this story unique - I never really imagined that Rodolphus ever really loved Bellatrix - but you portray his emotions of love and frustration very well.

Also, the way you made it that Bella loves Voldemort, not just his power, was...I can't describe it, but I guess I could say it made the whole thing somewhat more human, it made both Bella and Voldy more human.

I love the way you don't mention names. That gave this an aura of mystery and etherealness. By the way, the pureblood family Bella tortured: do you mean the Malfoys?

The line before last - "All she ever wanted was Him" IMO that would have worked wonders as the last line. I mean, when I read it, I literally stopped reading, because I completely expected that to end the story, but then you introduced another paragraph. I mean, don't get me wrong, re-reading what you wrote, it works, it definitely works and I can see why you set it up like that. I'm just saying that the "all she ever wanted" line has a very powerful impact, and it, for lack of a better word, stuns the reader. That's all.

To sum up, this was a really, really, really wonderful story. I absolutely loved it - I loved Rodolphus, the portrayal of Bella, the style of writing, everything!

Author's Response: Thanks for the great review! The pureblood family was the Longbottoms, after Harry destroys Voldemort. I actually have a really creepy fic about that time, so if you want to read it, it's called "His Most Faithful Servant". rnrnIt's funny you say that about the line before the last, because when I was writing this (in one stream of consciousness), that was the last line, until I went back and edited. The last paragraph was actually going to be in another part, but then I thought it was powerful enough to be the end, so I moved it. Maybe now I'll consider taking it out, though! :D

Interesting. And very creepy! I like seeing from Rodolphus's (sp?) perspective, that's not done often! Also, it was very chilling how he loved her even though he knew she only loved Voldemort - and couldn't have him. I really enjoyed seeing the feelings he has about this, it was very realistic! The tone is also very fitting for this story! Eerie, really... but great!

Author's Response: I know it's creepy that he was in love with her, but that's the way I like to write him. I have a Bellatrix fic and another Rodolphus fic (which is vaguely similar, but with more plot and a different setting) coming soon! I love writing Rodolphus, and he's given me more plot bunnies than any other character. Thanks for the review!

Wow. This was a wonderful read, Ally! I loved the emotions and descriptions throughout, and Rudolphus as the broken husband; pining for his wife's love.

Wonderful charecterisation! You've done a great job here, Ally. *squishes fellow DD*

Author's Response: Thanks so much! You know how much I love poor Rodolphus! *hugs DL*

Well done. I liked the new perspective. Rodolphus is a pretty tragic character-- and what a scary love triangle! Who wants the one they love to be obsessed with Voldemort. *shudders*

I also felt sorry for Bellatrix in a way. She doesn't seem to have control over her obsession; she is ultimately powerless. I always wondered if Voldemort bound her to himself on purpose, knowing what a powerful witch and ally she would make.

Have you thought about adding a second chapter taking events up to the end of the series? I think this one-shot stands on its own just fine without it, but there is a lot of information post-Azkaban that would be very interesting to see in this new light.

Bravo!

Author's Response: Death-Eater love triangles might be creepy, but they’re still insanely interesting. As for Rodolphus, writing this fic has definitely made him my favourite minor character by far. I think Voldemort knew what an asset Bella could be for him, and that’s why he kept her around. He probably even trained her a bit, too. I mean, the Death Eaters aren’t usually as close to Voldemort as she is. As for making this a two-shot, I don’t think so. But you never know! ^_~ I did write another Bellatrix one-shot. It’s right after Voldemort is defeated, and when she goes to torture the Longbottoms. Is way creepier and much more dark (since it is written from her POV). I hope you’ll read that when it gets validated! Thanks for the great review!

the only thing that comes to mind right now is- poor rodolphus!
and yeah, i liked the way you've written this one-shot, with no mentions of names or anything. beautiful job! =)

Author's Response: Thank you so much! Apparently the pity for Rodolphus is pretty much universal. ^.~

I really liked how this went from being very vague to learning the details. I had a couple different people I was guessing about at first. I never really gave Bellatrix's husband much thought while I was readng the seven books and would have never thought to think through his point of view

Author's Response: I was glad that I didn't have to mention any names or give more details, because I think it turned out the way I wanted it too. I hope I made you think about Rodolphus—isn't he awesome? Thanks for the review!

Author's Response: *eek!* The wrong form of 'to'!

Wow, now I feel so sorry for Rodolphus. I 've never thought much about him before, he's such a nonentity compared to Bella. Really interesting, really well written

Author's Response: The relationship they have is purely defined by her love for Voldemort, but no one ever considers how Rodolphus might have felt about her. Thanks for the review!

This was abosultey postively amazing. I could feel his jelaousy and I loved how he loved her even though she loved someone else. I figured it was Bella after the first Him because the death eaters reffered to Voldy as a god. I am so utterly impressed by this story. *adds to favorites*

I love this line
'I wanted to help her, to love her, but that wasn’t what she needed. She needed her life back. She needed Him.'

Amazing. Truly exceptional.

Author's Response: I don't think I ever decided to start capitalising the pronouns for Voldemort… It just sort of happened, if that makes sense. I like to think that Rodolphus was in love with Bella, but maybe I'm just crazy. To tell you the truth, after I wrote this fic I really started to love poor Rodolpuhs.
