That's soo sweet!
i love it. it is the perfect ending to the story and it is like an extra chapter to the Deathly Hallows. Great Work...
That was a good story and I love how you tell it through the eyes of a tree.
Awww! Such a sweet fic. Good job with this one.
I told you Iíd be by soon. I love this story! To have the tree tell it was so different, but in such a good way that itís hard to describe. To think of how it could move, hear, and see was great. I liked that it moves itís branches as needed for someone to climb, and that even though they cut into it, it still liked them. Knowing something would harm, or kill the charges in the school would only anger the ones who really cared, and I can see the tree being one of them. I hate that it died, but ripping itís roots out of the ground and falling on the vampires was an excellent last act.
The reactions from Harry and Ginny were so perfect. I think I would be upset to if I found something that looked completely un explainable. Knowing there is a Death Eater under the tree, but not being able to see the vampires because they burned was probably a bit confusing.
I love the reaction from Ginny when Harry showed her the carving he made. The ending for this was really good. Thinking not everything coming could be for the worst.
Absolutely wonderful story and I am happy to say, it was as good as I expected. I would even go so far as to say it was worth the wait on your WIP, and you know how much I love it. I will see you in the reviews, yours or mine.
Author's Response: Hooray! I'm so glad you liked it; I was a bit worried b/c it was so unusual. But only a bit. I didn't like that it died either, and originally wasn't planning on it, but it seemed better that way after DH, since their world changed so much. I may write a sequel though, about a new sapling from the tree and H/G's children...
I liked it! The idea of a tree entering a battle like this is Tolkienesque (of course I mean that in the best way). You're going on my Favorite Authors list.
Author's Response: Aw, thank you! And I am a HUGE Lord of the Rings fan, so saying my work was Tolkienesque is a tremendous compliment. I'm glad you liked it!
so sweet...i like how it was the tree's POV... will you say who died or do you just want us to imagine? 10/10
Author's Response: Well, since the tree narrated and then ripped itself up from the roots, I meant that the tree was the one that died.
that is one of the most saddest mot beatiful stories i have read in a long time
Aww Rebecca.. I love it. So awesome, as always. I love how you changed from Lily and James' perspective to Harry and Ginny's. Keep up the awesome work, hon! xxvictoria
Author's Response: I'm glad you liked it. I've been wanting to do a J/L and H/G parallel type fic that shows the similarities between the two couples for a while now. It was originally going to be a bit happier, but then I read DH, and that's the way the story goes...
so unbearably cute! Grr you and your amazing writing!
you capture every essence needed in the story! bravo!
This is an absolutely wonderful story [: Very poetic, and told from a great point of view. I'm having a rather hard time finding something to critique! Your word choices are excellent and flow together perfectly; this is probably my most favorite story on MNFF as of my reading it just now [:
