Well, that was very sweet! It's probably really true of ten year olds too, just not the ones I know. But I recognize the kids in my family like to act older than they are. :)
I like the scattered deeper sentences throughout that keep this poetic.LIke, wondered what he was searching for over the horizon.
My only suggestion would be to reconsider how Severus showed her about his parents. I just think it's not entirely likely that they would be fighting any time they go around to see. Of course, that depends, but maybe you could add something to make it more probable.

So sad, but so sweet. I loved how Severus was so protective of Lily.
