Great piece! You picked up on the truth about Albus Dumbledore in the same way that I did: Gellert Grindlewald was the first person, male or female, that Albus could truly relate to as an equal. That's why his admiration could be termed "love." Albus never acted upon it for several reasons, primarily because the whole situation blew up in his face, leaving him with a dead sister to mourn for the rest of his life. Albus not only feared power, he also feared unreasoning passion after that disaster.

Albus also probably knew that Harry's great power to love was something that he could never equal given his tragic past. I think that is why only Harry could defeat Voldemort -- Albus lacked the ability to love freely and with all his heart. The one time he had tried, he had lost everything.

So, you're right. Albus "never did anything inappropriate." He didn't dare to release his heart. And that was, ultimately, worse than dying.

Author's Response: Since this reveiw is done twice and I can't stand leaving a reveiw unanswered, I'm going to evoke Lennon again. He really is a great inspiration and soon you all shall be reading another Lennon inspired peace-fic entitled 'Yesterday'.

Author's Response: Dumbledore really is a bit tragic, which makes him a great character to write. It always seems to be the most tragic cases that make the best characters. Very flexable.

Yeah I agree that you are telling epople to leave Dumbly and Jo alone, that's sweet.I guess know that you look at it, it was a bit obvious he loved Grindlewald. He is still a genius and a great wizard and mentor.

Author's Response: That's all I'm saying!

Peaceful, just like you wanted I suppose.Rest in Peace Dumbledore

Author's Response: Yes, very peaceful, very loving. The entire time I was writing this I was listening to John Lennon songs. I suggest you all read it again with Lennon on behind you.

very good! it seems as though you are telling people to leave dumbledore and jk rowling alone, in light of the recent confirmation of our favorite headmaster's sexuality. but you wrote "I past it all to Harry" when it should have been "passed." but never mind that, i'm just a little nitpicky. well done!

Author's Response: Blasted spell checker done me in again, LOL! Thank you!

Beautiful story:) I'm glad you included a plea for tolerance at the end, I have been almost ashamed of people who have slandered Dumbledore since the information about his love for Grindelwald was told to us. You wrote this very well I loved it!!

Author's Response: Thank you! I've been a bit ashamed too; some of my own family... I made them read this; they don't know I wrote it, LOL!

Thank you. I've been waiting to see a fic about the information we recently received about Dumbledore, and this was perfect. At first I was a bit shocked, but then I realized I respected him even more because of he did everything his own way. Maybe people will realize that it definitely isn't wrong that Dumbledore is gay, yet just a part of the man he was. You couldn't have done this better =)

Author's Response: Thank you! That is just what I'm trying to accomplish; tolerence.

This is amazing! *adds to favorites* I was wondering who'd be the first to write a story about Dumbledore after Jo 'outed' him. And this is so awesome and well-written. It definitely showcases Dumbledore's point of view, and the vocabulary and sentence structure and everything was just great and very Dumbledore-ish. Not to mention, in character. I really liked the beginning and how it evolved into his life story :] But just to point something out, in his name, 'Percival' and 'Wulfric' are switched around, so it's Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore. :D But amazing story, I love it.

Author's Response: I realized what I had done with the names about an hour after I had posted. I was mortified! Thanks about the style; it took me a while to get right.
