Wow. That would have been the perfect ending to deathly hallows. The part with George was so great. The part with the malfoys and Snape were great. And of course Ginny and Harry was verry cute. Keep writing! :)

Author's Response: Thank Sara. I really appreciate the kind words. I'm glad you thought it was great! cj

Wow, this story really gave the deathly hallows a good ending, I personally thought that the ending of DH left out so much i wanted answered. I am so glad you wrote this and it is even better because it followed the story so well and the characters act as they always have. You really gave the story some of the JK touch. There is also another part of the story that i thought JK missed that i would have liked to read- when Harry first kissed Ginny in the common room, it said that they went for a long walk in the grounds, i am really curious about what the conversation was. Perhaps you could write that too. So many things were left out of the series that could have made the series all the more better I really like your stories and am glad you follow canon. Hope to read more of your stories soon. Keep up the great work

Author's Response: Thank you so much for the delightful review. It warms an author's heart, let me tell you! I am thrilled that you believe that I keep to canon and have the characters act in a typical manner as that is something that I consciously strive to do. That walk after THE kiss has been written numerous times. I like the take Melindeleo (sp?) has on it (should be in my favourites, or at least the correct spelling of her username is so you can search for it). I am working on incorporating something else between Harry and Ginny for my current fic - that hour they supposedly spent down by the lake that is alluded to at the end of HBP. Thanks again!

Author's Response: I found the title of the story I meant - Treacle Tart, Broomsticks, and Ginny.

wow this fits in so perfectly!! i really liked it cuz i thought that JKR should've added more...i mean c'mon the last battle just ended!! im glad urs fits in and tht u used canon. i like canon way better than fanon so i really like post-DH fics or next generation fics. u should write more stories.

Author's Response: Thank you so much! I have some others in the files here, maybe you'd like them. I also have another idea in mind for later that is also post-DH. I always write canon as anything way off I don't like. Thanks again!

Another great story! I always liked Snape--even though he was so mean to Harry. I always thought his character had the most depth. I knew that he and Dumbledore had planned out Dumbledore's death ahead of time and was just sure he was on the light side. I'm glad you gave him a portrait in the headmaster's office. I've heard a few people say that they couldn't believe that Harry and Ginny would name a child after him--but I think that Harry understands Snape very well and respects him.

As for the rest of your conversations--Thank you! I felt JKR didn't give us enough fluff--especially Harry and Ginny's reunion. It was pretty sad when I read the Epilogue and the couples were sending off their kids on the Hogwarts Express, I actually wondered if Harry had married Ginny or someone entirely different. I had to scan the page for Ginny's name. I just couldn't fathom JKR leaving us at the end of Ch. 36 with Harry thinking there would be time to talk to Ginny when he hadn't seen her in a year. I'll quit rambling.

Author's Response: Thanks very much! I, too, think that Snape is a fabulous character. I always suspected that there was a deeper aspect to him than the apparently shallow pettiness he showed towards Harry. I wondered if I was going a little far in this fic putting his portrait up, but then read the interview with Ms Rowling where she states that Harry would have been instrumental in getting Snape's picture up in the headmaster's office, so I figured my portrayal wasn't way off base. The H/G element was one thing I felt let down about at the end of DH. I understand why Ms Rowling did what she did, but I still wanted that fluffy/gooey scene with them, not just a snippet of their life as 'old-marrieds'! Apparently it's my turn to ramble... Thanks for the review!

your daughter doesn't like snape for many reasons. for one thing, he missed all his chances with lily. the guy's way too shy. and then he held so many grudges against harry. that was really unfair. and these aren't very good arguments. but i still don't like him.

Author's Response: The grudges I'll give you. Snape was a very petty, petty man. I understand his pain and jealousy was overwhelming, but he could have been more mature in his treatment of Harry et al. The shyness, I won't give you. His is the classic unrequited love story and it made him an unexpected hero. As a hopeless romantic, in all senses of the word, I appreciate that storyline, and that's why I love his character and his portrayal at the end of the series. I find his character easier to swallow than the switch in Dumbledore that we saw, with the whole using Harry. That bugged me more, I think, than Snapes' petty treatment.

Awwww...what a beautiful alternate ending to the DH! Seriously, I think that JKR should hav put more closure to the ending b4 going to the epilogue. This is a WAY better ending! ;)

Author's Response: Thank you very much. How sweet. I thought so too, but you know, biased. ;) lol

Aw!!! And it was really great, I loved it!! It did clear a few things up, and I loved the part with Sev most especially. Thanks!!!

Author's Response: Thanks Anya (can I call you that?). You're a Snape fan are you? My daughter still doesn't like him, even after DH. I think he's a hero, though. Anyway, thanks for reading and reviewing. Glad you enjoyed it. cj

this was great! im not too into fanfiction and i normally read one shots, and i love it when people follow cannon.

Author's Response: Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it. I, too, am a fan of one-shots, I seem to lack the patience for a super long fic! And yes, I will always follow canon. If it's too far off for me, I just think one may as well write a completely original work. Anyway, thanks for reading and reviewing!

this was really good! short and sweet. it really wrapped up those hanging ends in a believable and poetic way. im really glad that you put the part about snape's portrait, and of course george talking about fred... *tear*

Author's Response: Thanks very much for those kind words. George. Yes. {sigh} Poor George. He's never going to be the same, is he? *shameless plug time* Check out my other fic "Waiting" if you like this one. And stay tuned for another one coming soon, I hope. Thanks for reading and reviewing!

Oh, I just didn't like the epilogue. So I'm in denial. Then again, that's what fanfiction is for, right?

Regardless, I liked your story. And I did see the interviews with Rowling about the portrait. But I think she's just delusional.

Author's Response: Ahhh .... *nodding head sagely as she finally understands* Ms Rowling delusional about her own stories - rofl! Anyway, thanks so much for the review. I'm glad you did like my fic. And thanks for boosting my review count!

Nope, no portrait, no body in the Great Hall, no death. After all, we KNOW who can cure snake bite wounds, and who has shown more LOYALTY to Dumbledore than Severus?

Oh, yeah, and there was no epilogue either.

Author's Response: Hi again. Totally agree with the loyalty point, no question there (you should see my password to get onto mnff!). But check out the interview with Ms Rowling herself that should be archived on MuggleNet. She gave it just after DH's release and in it clearly stated that she believes Harry would be instrumental in getting Snape's portrait up in the headmaster's office. If there would be a portrait, he would have to be dead. And I figure she should know... Sorry ... Not sure what you meant by 'no epilogue either'...

Very nice work. Just one problem: There could not be a portrait of Snape because he isn't really dead...

But if he were, I could imagine him having this conversation with Harry.

Author's Response: Thanks very much for your kind words. Um ... not sure how to tell you this ... but *DH Spoilers* Snape is dead. Check out the end of chapter 32 in DH, Snape very clearly is killed. He dies right before giving Harry his memories. Now, if this is a case of wishful thinking or good ol' denial on your part, can't help you there I'm afraid, but I totally understand. There are a few deaths from DH that I certainly wish hadn't happened! Anyway, response is now longer than review itself, so I'll be quiet now. Thanks again for the review!

Author's Response: Of course, I meant that Snape died just *after* giving Harry his memories!

Great job- I'm really glad someone wrote something like this. I felt there weren't enough things tied up at the end of the book too. It was particularly good to see George's feelings towards Harry.
One little mistake I spotted- you spelt Gryffindor as 'Griffindor' when Neville's holding the sword. Other than that, good work! I liked this a lot.

Cirelondiel :-)

Author's Response: Thanks so much! Such kind words. And thanks for catching the typo. *sheesh* proofread, proofread, proofread I'm surprised no one else mentioned it. Off to fix it ...
