So... Luna, or lethifold?

When I first read this, I'm sorry to say I really didn't like it. Then I read the Lady and the Tiger(which I've never read before) and thought about it for a little while. Now I like your story, and how it was written. Comparing the two stories made it easier for me to decide which Ginny would have picked :P I think Luna.
Excellent idea for a story and a great way to get around the problem of being cliche all the time :)

Author's Response: Haha, thanks. This was a fun story I had the idea to do. It was more of a nod to "The Lady, or the Tiger" than anything else. Glad you managed to enjoy it in the end. :D

That was really good! i love the cliffhanger ending! or did i hate it? i cant decide which i wanted him to choose?!

Author's Response: Lol, that line between love and hate can be very fine indeed! I tend to love cliffy endings, if done right, like the original story was.

Good job. This was incredibly interesting. I say she chose the Lethifold. I mean, I cannot imagine Ginny unable to see the sight of Draco in Luna's arms. She's just not that insecure, and besides, at that point in the story, she knew that Draco loved her. However, the lethifold...well that's something I don't think too many people could handle; seeing their soulmate die.

Author's Response: Thanks for the review, and thanks for coming up with your own opinion! :D It's funny when people beg me to tell them or ask for a sequel, but it's quite heart-warming when they try to figure out what happened next.

OMG !! you are evil but i think she chose Luna cos she wouldn't want him to die

Author's Response: Yes, I've been told plenty of times how evil I am. >:) And maybe you are right. And maybe you aren't. Thanks for reviewing anyhow and coming up with your own decision. :D

what one did she choose?
oh how i hate clife endings! i dont even ever write them in! i just find them evil!
but other than that this story was reallt good. when i read it i found it hard to believe that you didnt really like d/g fics. that is very good. normally you can see from a mile off where the author stands on their charcters.
i really loved this(sans ending of course).
thank you.

Author's Response: Oh, but I love Ginny, and I really like Draco... I just don't like the connotations that come along with a D/G ship... or any Draco ship, for that matter. Most of them are too... saccharine, cliche, etc. Though there are exceptions. I'm always open to exceptions. So for one day I chose to treat them like my favorite ship, because I couldn't imagine any other ship in their place, for some reason.rnrnLol, and yes, the cliffie was evil of me.

O come on tell me

Author's Response: But I can't! I don't know myself... :( 'Tis life, and it is cruel to all of us. But your curiosity is understandable...

i want to know what he choose because in the original it doesnt say either. very nicely written i liked it a lot!

Author's Response: Lol, I went "aaaaahhh" the first time I read "The Lady, or the Tiger?" too. I'm glad you liked this story, even though the ending was infuriating... as it was meant to be.

Agh, a cliffhanger! I have a love-hate relationship with them; even though it's painful not to know what happens, they really make me think, you know?

Anyways, this is a great story. I love Ginny/Draco, and found this little wonder while browsing. I'm so glad I chose this one. This story is not only suspenseful and dramatic, but has some great romance. You made Ginny and Draco's relationship very believeable. However, I felt the way they came together was a bit cliche. Something about it felt as though you were just trying to make a hurried explanation.

It was interesting how you chose Luna to be the lover. I liked how you made it slightly less conventional that way. However, I don't believe she would be so resigned to such a fate. After all, she's Luna. She was such a huge part in the resistance against Voldemort. I don't believe you gave enough reasons for her to do this to Draco. She'd rather die than relinquish to Voldemort's will. Why would she be a part in this plan?

I must say, your plot is so wonderfully fleshed out. I followed it easilly the whle way through, which was fabulous.

Great fic, and thanks for writing something so great!

Author's Response: Lol, thanks for the long review. And thanks also for the criticism--really! Too few reviews give helpful criticism. :D To be honest: yes, I was trying to make a hurried explanation for D/G getting together. I was also sorta being a bit sardonic as I told it, because I normally don't like D/G romances--I made an exception to write this story, because I just couldn't picture any other romance in its place. Next time, I'll think of a more creative explanation when I need a quick one. ;) As for Luna submitting to Voldy's will... I don't suppose she did; she might indeed rather die. But she was captured instead, and hidden behind one of those doors. It wasn't really her choice. Maybe she would kill herself the first chance she got. But then again, maybe she wouldn't; Luna is a very level-headed individual, and something as drastic as suicide seems a bit extreme for her. She seemed to adjust quickly to the fact that her mom was dead, and she counted her blessings by reminding herself that she still had her dad. Perhaps she may have done the same in this case, had Draco chosen her--she may have accepted the blows life dealt her and moved on, knowing that she couldn't change what Voldemort had caused. But however she's involved, she definitely didn't want to be involved in the first place. Cliffhangers... Stockton's "The Lady, or the Tiger?" bugged the heck out of me the first time I read it, but now I love it ever so very much. Which is exactly why I did this homage fic in the first place. Lol, I do hope I explained myself properly. Thank you again for you kind and useful review!

omg its just like the Lady or the Tiger!!!
It even ends the same!!!! my gosh u had to leave it like that?!?!?!?1
i might kill myself for not konwing!!!!!
urrg well i liked it it was very touching except the end

if ull tell me wich one would you have vad her pick?

Author's Response: But of course; I did credit "The Lady, or the Tiger?" at least twice in the story. :D To be true to the source material, I must act like Frank Stockton and refuse to tell anyone Ginny's choice. After all, I hardly know myself which she'd choose! I'm glad you liked the rest of the story, though, even if the ending drove you mad.

Why not Pansy Parkinson? Ginny would probably have a bigger problem with Pansy than Luna- Pansy LOVES Malfoy. It sounded like they didn't like each other at first, which leads me to believe that there might have been a Pansy-Malfoy thing before Ginny. I know it kinda wrecks the title, but I don't think Ginny's descicion would be that difficult...in the Lady and the Tiger, the princess despises the lady, which makes the situation worse. Unless the only thing that remained the same about Ginny is her name, she's definately pick Luna.
Love the idea, though. Great how you fit HP into the LatT story.

Author's Response: Actually I never thought about Pansy. I was dead set on Luna because of, yes, the title, and also because I just love Luna so much. Of course, we mustn't bank on Ginny being as selfless as letting Draco pick Luna's door just because she doesn't hate Luna. People get pretty possessive at times. :D But thanks for the Pansy idea anyway, even if it's too late to use it. Lol.

wat happens. does ginny pick luna or the lethifold for draco

Author's Response: Exactly the question. :D Some people hate these open-ended stories, but I have a special weakness for them.

ooo this is such a good but very sad story!! i think the lethifold because ginny could not bear to see draco with another person yet she couldn't see him die cuz that would be sad!!!

Author's Response: It's a horrible choice for Ginny to make. I shudder to think what I'd do in her situation. Which is why there's the open ending: because actually learning the decision she picked would leave you disappointed in her one way or another.

i think that she chose Luna because if Voldemort was defeated then he could leave Luna and rescue Ginny

Author's Response: Possibly. But what if Draco ended up falling in love with Luna? We all say "I'll love you forever!" We all read it in romance fiction. But how much promise do those words really hold? Or can you possibly love more than one woman at the same time? Ginny might be afraid of that. I do applaud your effort to figure out Ginny's choice, though. There are many who are simply like: "Which door did she open???" Which is understandable, of course. But it's nicer to think over it for a long time and perhaps come to a decision, or perhaps not.

i didn't really understand the end but you have excellent way of writing. I can't wait for more!

Author's Response: The ending was open-ended. Ginny either chose for Draco to go through one door and be eaten by the Lethifold, or go through the other door and be married to Luna and serve Voldemort for the rest of his life. It's up to you to figure out which one Ginny chose. As for future writing... well, I'm very busy right now, but in January I shall start posting my novel-length humor fic, entitled "Dumbledore, Please Explain Your Twisted Logic!" I've started writing it already, and I'm quite pleased with the direction it's going.

did she choose Luna or the Lethifold?

Author's Response: The choice is a hard one, isn't it? What do you think she chose? I'm sorry, I cannot say myself. The inspiration material for this story had an open ending as well, so... that's how it goes. :D

Name: Marauders_honor (Signed) · Date: 10/30/07 17:47 · For: Luna, or the Lethifold?
Which one did she chose? this is really good. i think she chose the Lethifold

Author's Response: She might have indeed chosen the Lethifold. Or maybe she chose Luna. I'm glad you, at least, made a guess. :D Most of my other readers just tortured themselves over "Which one was it?? Which one was it??" And of course that's the whole point of the story--it's open-ended and can go in either direction. Just like the story that inspired it, Frank Stockton's "The Lady, or the Tiger?"
