Wonderful! I really enjoyed this - it was very touching. I sort of wish Harry had taken Ron and Hermione as well, because technically, everyone owes something to Snape. Not one of them trusted him, despite what Dumbledore said. Anyway, good job, again!
Author's Response: Thank you for the review.
I didn't include Ron and Hermione because they didn't owe Severus the way Harry and Draco did. They also didn't share the same kind of connection. From the moment Harry and Draco walked in that school, Severus knew who they were and he was always there for them, in one way or another, rather he was wanted or not. It really wasn't the same with Ron and Hermione. Their presense wouldn't have meant as much.
And thanks again for leaving a review.
Oh ... wow. This is the second post-DH fic about Snape to cause a lump in my throat. Harry and Snape are truly Dumbledore's men through and through. I loved the original line when I read it in HBP and I love the altered version in your fic as well. Draco's attitude towards Snape undergoing a vast change is the kind of believable character transformation (with respect to Draco) that I have read about in very few fics. You've done a great job with this short yet moving story - and I'm not moved very easily with Snape stories because I was a passionate Snape hater until two weeks ago. Thanks to the book itself and quite a few good fics - yours included - I think that's changed. This is going into my favourites!
Author's Response: Thank you for the wonderful review.
I have always been a fan of Severus and I thought he deserved more respect then he got in the books. I really hope this little one-shot did that for him.
Thank you again for the lovely review.
A really great one-shot. very touching
Author's Response: Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it.
That was very good. I hope to see more of your writing!
Author's Response: Thanks so much!
Ah, see, I think it was good he asked Draco. I even think Draco would go with him, although Harry could have warned him, the prat. I think Harry was wise to at least leave Ron behind. And I can have Severus wait *that* long, under the circumstances, but not for all eternity.
Author's Response: Thanks, cm. I'm glad you enjoyed it. I know we disagree on a lot of HP topics. But Severus deserves some dignity; that's something we'll always agree on.
