Oh, wow, Hallie. I just keep liking your writing more and more. *vows to keep up with your work* Every time I read a new story of yours, you just keep getting better.
I have never been known as a fan of Draco. Never. But this fic, Hallie, has made me feel sorry for him, and I understand him (? sorta...). It's hard to take a character who is much loved by many and much hated by many readers and write him as a sympathetic character to all. Amazing job.
*shivers* The abyss of insanity sounds...scary. Seriously. But the last paragraph or so seemed a but rushed. I know you wouldn't really want to go into a ton of detail and explanations of Draco going insane - I don't think anyone would - but it seems to me that the last paragraph was a bit more telling than showing. I like it still, as I don't know if I'd *want* to be shown insanity (creepy.), but...I dunno. It just seemed a bit fast-paced. There's nothing wrong with that, of course, as the ending still shocked me and sent shivers up my spine, but it wasn't perfect (in my mind. You can think it's great, as can others, of course).
I think my favorite part would have to be when Draco is telling himself it was his fault. People *always* think that, be it true or not, and it also gives a better look as to Draco's character...
I'd have to say this is one amazing fic. Great characterization and amazing writing. *awed* You are a fantastic writer, Hallie.

I saw you posted your link in the final exam thread and I ran over here to read it because I was thrown by the name of your story being "Untitled" :-P
I was thrilled to find it was a Draco fic and I was immediately caught up in it. The pace was excellent and just kept drawing me inward and onward.
Your writing was beautiful, and the story itself was everything we've learned in class: Dark, angsty, plot, conflict - you hit them all right on target.
This is the part that affected me most - that hit me hardest:
The thought ran itself over and over in his head, keeping time with his pounding footsteps. Every mistake he had ever made concerning his family and his life came crashing down on his shoulders. The burden of the past was too much to bear. He ran faster, trying to escape the crushing weight of his guilt, but no matter how hard or how fast he sprinted, the pain caught up.
It just killed me! Augh!
So, very well done and I can't tell you how impressed I am you did this without a beta. Awesome job.

Well written, but I thought the lyrics you had written in italics detracted from the story. Nice finish.
