This is a really great fic!
I love the way you use repetition, especially with the Daily Prophet. And of course, the blueberry scones and the cat were a nice touch.
The ending was much happier than I expected it to be, though I was a little confused... Both are alive, but Ginny doesn't know that Draco is. And of course, Draco knows that Ginny had his sweater. Is that right?
that was so good i was all geared up for a sad ending and that was really so happy! all heroic deaths and amazing survival stories i really enjoyed it!
I'm not a big fan of songfics, but this one was definitely worth reading. It was sweet in a non-overbearing sort of way, the characters were believable, and you tied in the sweater and the cats wonderfully. The blueberry scones were a particularly nice touch, I thought.
The occasional dabble of facetious humor lightened the mood a bit, in a good way. There was a lot crammed in there at the end, though. It was a little confusing, but I suspect for anyone reading the Daily Prophet, it would have been as well...and, of course, the ending was pretty much perfect.
It's been a bit of a bad day, and this was somehow just what I needed. Thank you for that.
i think that was amazing! i want an expensive, luxuriously soft, Slytherin-green sweater! wow that is a long discription for a sweater. :]
i (L) this story
Cute fic! I liked it! Though at times I was a bit confused (I wasn't sure if you had swapped time/setting, or it was just a new paragraph). Nichola. PS, sorry for the lame review, I'm very tired, but I thought it would be nice.
Author's Response: Thanks for reading!
I can't believe I'm the first person to review! this story is so cool! I hope more people find it. and I also hope you write more. I eagerly await....
i like your summary. the voice sounds like a combo of childishness and sarcasm, but I still think it's cute.
"When he returned to Pureblood Villa later that evening, with the knowledge that Seamus Finnigan, murderer of fifteen Death Eaters, was the Dark Lord’s new most wanted man, he found his flat thankfully empty of any cats and records, and the only Pensieve in the cupboard was his. All in all, he felt a whole lot better. But his sweater was still missing." absolutely hilarious! I never imagined the song this way, and frankly, I like it a lot. it's very tongue-in-cheek and clever; I esp like the "only pensive in the cupboard was his".
I like how you did greengrass and nott; i didn't guess at first.
I love how you start sentences with the same words as the song, and at the end of the sentence you come to a conclusion completely different than the one in the song. like how draco went out flying and ended up with such trivial things as being wet and cold, rather than dwelling on his lost love.
this is the funniest voldemort-wins fic I've ever read. I think it is also the best songfic i've read, because rather than just using the song's storyline, you incorporate the words of the song, the storyline, and your own devices, as well as writing in a style that is fresh and unique and funny.
this story made me laugh out loud and it also brought tears to my eyes. either i'm just more emotional than I used to be, or you're GOOD.
"The real Theodore Nott had died years ago, along with Daphne Greengrass, and their hair had been used for better purposes." hahahaha!!!!
in short---this story is amazing. period.
Author's Response: Wow. Thanks so much for your wonderful review! I'm so glad you liked my story!
