Chapter: Rekindled Love

First of all I want to say congrats on getting it on Mugglenet! We all know how much you wanted it to be validated!

Now onto the story Review! :

I like the whole Ball theme. With the masks and all that. I like it, it shows that even with a mask Draco can recognize her – hence the reason for the sentence: He could recognize her anywhere — like right now, when she was disguising herself by donning a magnificently designed white mask which only covered her eyes.
The minute I read that sentence… I just knew they had been together before you explained it all (which is defiantly a good start when it’s only the 3rd sentence!!)

Then you go and explain everything – which I found was very clear and the few paragraphs explaining everything where well written. And I liked it a good bit.

-Hermione swirled the contents of her champagne glass, silently watching the golden substance whirl around – I just have to say I love this sentence … and I don’t quite know why! I think its because it creates an wonderful mood, but then how can champagne create a mood?

The only thing I didn’t understand was the reason Draco left her. He got a promotion and had to leave for a while? I just don’t get it, it probably because I’m used to real romantic reasons for departure! But then the reason you gave does explain why Draco is SO guilty.

- She closed her eyes, trying to rid herself from these thoughts. If he doesn’t show up today, she thought to herself, then I’ll let go of him.

Hermione prayed with all her might that he would come; hoping that she wouldn’t have to give up on him.- I found this kind of depressing.

“we have a lot to catch up on, don’t we?”

Hermione noted the mischievous glint in his eyes and blushed. “Yeah, we do,” she said, smiling coyly. She looked at him fondly; gazing at his features as if to engrave them in her memory forever. “I love you,” she said once again, emphasizing how much she had missed him and how glad she was that he came back.

Draco brushed his lips against hers and whispered against her mouth, “I love you too.”

- I LOVED this ending!!

All in all this is defiantly a GREAT story
-So anyone out there reading this review, READ IT!!!!!!!!

Author's Response: Thank you!! like you said, I've been trying to post this fic for a long time, so it feels awesome so know that its finally up *sighs in delight* It feels like i've really accomplished something (thank heavens I didn't give up on posting the fic here!)

I really wanted to write a story based on a masquerade theme. I've read so many stories like that, and fel in love with each and every one of them. Since I just adore the song 'Far Away', I just had to put them together and create a one-shot =D The main reason the story kept getting rejected was because there was not enough description about how they got together in the first place. See, what I wanted to do was to just write a fic about their reactions after meeting up after so long while BRIEFLY explaining why and how they got together. I didn't really want to focus on how exactly they started to fall in love - that would be like writing a whole story! Anyhoo, I hope you get my point lol. But you saying that it was clear, makes me feel good - atleast someone understands how and why they got together by reading a few, brief sentences! lol...

haha...I really wonder why you liked the champagne part =D Its true does create a somewhat sophisticated, a more romantic kind of mood lol...

About Draco's departure. Well the main reason why is because of his promotion. Have you read 'Daddy'? Well in that story, Ron has to go away and leave Hermione because he got some kind of promotion...well its something like that for Draco as well. He doesn't come back to her after a long time and so feels guilty. He realised that she was more importand than his job...=D

teehee! Oh, i'm soo happy you liked the ending! I was stuck on writing that part. I needed to somehow portray how much they loved each other even after staying apart for a year. But seeing that you liked it so much, I can assume that I came up with a good ending eh? *smiles happily* Thank you so so much for the long and lovely review - it means SO much to me!

I loved it. It was so sweet and touching, and the characterization was perfect. "Far Away" is one of my all time favorite songs, and I think you really did it justice with this fic. Great work, as always!
