James is so childlike! Loved this story.
James was more like19/20 when Lily got pregnant, as they were both 21 when they died, and Harry was just over a year old at that time.
i liked the part when James spoke abt the affair, seriously good
yeah a good one
I love this story, even if James is kinda out of canon =]]
Author's Response: You think James is out of canon? Please give me some specifics!
I thought the characterization was quite humorous. I mean, its a fanfiction, creativity and personal interpretation of the characters should be encouraged. :)
Author's Response: I agree with you. Thanks for the review!
I think that the people that rejected this are barmy honestly. Lily married him because she loved him. not because she wanted to change him. If she wanted a old man she would have married Dumbledore. I loved thisfic. It is a sweet thought that they remeber how to be happy when good things happen. That can be hard when you are at war. That an i was PROUD of James for being happy who isnt when they are told of there first baby? I loved your writing. Great job
Author's Response: Wow, I'm actually blushing! Thank you!
This story was brilliant! Forget the bad reviews, I think it was wonderful. Keep writing please!
Author's Response: Thank you thank you thank you! It's definitely worth it to keep writing if I receive more reviews like this!
I guess i'm a little bit older than a lot of your readers...but i loved the story...and i wanted to tell you that James' reaction is soooo very like the one i got when i mentioned my own baby boy was on his way!! It made me smile so much!
Author's Response: Oh, that makes me feel so great! Thank you! I'm glad you liked it!
I loved it!
Author's Response: Thanks!!!
I loved it!
I thought it was amazing! I cant believe it got rejected from another site. Its so good!
Author's Response: Thanks!!! I'm still bitter about the rejection on that other site. Grrr! It's kind of ironic, because this story has been one of my most popular, yet it's the only one that's been rejected. Ah well. Glad you liked it!!
How could they reject this? I thought your characterization was fantastic! Great story.
Author's Response: You win some, lose some, I guess. Thanks for the review!
That was a really great read; I was smiling like an idiot at James's reaction. It was absolutely perfect! I saw that someone else said they didn't like the high five, but that was one of my favorite parts in the entire story! It was great!
And the other site is completely mental for rejecting you. Has Lily not always been portrayed as the mature, responsible one? Has one of her biggest complaints about James (but also one of the things that makes her love him, imo) always been that he is slightly immature?
And even if he was the most responsible person in the world, I think that many fathers act like complete idiots when they find out. I mean, I read one fic where Harry, who I think is a lot more mature than James, yelled at Ginny's stomach for like ten minutes when he found out she was pregannt, and it was very believable and well done.
Bottom line, very great job, and your characterization is one of the things I think you did best with this story. Keep writing!
Author's Response: What a wonderful review! You totally got everything out of it that I was aiming for readers to get, and you feel the same way I do about the relationship between Lily and James and the whole "new fathers being idiots" thing. Thanks so much for the fabulous comments!
Briliant story! Insanly great! I love it! That is just the way I want my future usband to actwhen I get pregnat!
Author's Response: Haha! Well, I hope that your future husband gives you a high five, too. Thanks so much for the read and review!
I thought it was a really good story! Personally, I would imagine J being pretty upset, considering he was only about 20 when it happened and in the middle of a dangeous war. But how can characters we have barely met be conidered OOC? Whatever...
Author's Response: THANK YOU! That's exactly what I said! But I've appealed the decision twice and that site maintains that they will not post my story unless I change James, which would change the whole story! I think too many people like to imagine James as all noble and great, not that he wasn't, but we've also seen another side of him, and I really like to have fun with it. I'm currently working on another story where he completely botches his proposal to Lily... *giggle*
I'm surprised about the site rejecting you. The only thing was that I can't imagine anyone – at all – giving his wife a high five when he finds out she's pregnant – no matter how young he is. Other than that, it was a great story, and I love the irony near the end (the whole hair/ defeating Voldemort thing)
Author's Response: Thanks for the review. The high-five was one of the issues that the admins at the other site had a problem with, and I admit that it's a little childish, but I personally really like it and refuse to cut it. I think it encapsulates James' feelings about the pregnancy really well. He's not scared or uncertain at all, just happy and excited. Nevertheless, that's the beauty of opinion, and I'm glad to have yours now. Thanks for the review!
That was wonderful!!! I loved it!!!
Also, for that site, they are idiots because I'm a characterisation freak myself and that was great! As for ages, James and Lily died at around age 22, therfore making them 20/21 when they died.
Question though: Was that site simplyundiniable? Because I'll have a hissy fit if it is.
Author's Response: Thanks! I'm glad you're on my side! Glad you liked the story!!
This was done very, very well. I honestly think that James is immature by nature, and your characterization of him is dead on. I mean, he's hopelessly in love and he thinks his wife is having an affair. OBVIOUSLY he's going to act a little immature.
Don't get yourself down over what another site said. This is excellent. And that's coming from somebody who is very, very critical of fanfiction.
Keep it up!
Author's Response: Thanks! I'm glad I'm not the only person who believes that James, as wonderful as he was, was a bit childish. Your review was wonderful; I'm so glad to have it! And thank you for reading as well!
I think it is a cute one shot, I like it.
Author's Response: Thanks!
