Chapter: Unreachable

It made me cry.

Very interesting, because while I don't think it actually happened that way, I think it is a very good story. Would Lily have thought more about this, about what it meant and the ethics involved? Possibly, possibly not. "I do not take commands from evil."... nice line.

I didn't check if you marked it AU - I think it is very mildly non-compliant with Canon, in that I believe Jo has said the Potters were living off James' inherited money. That's not a criticism, just an observation. This is a truly original story, with a great deal in it. Nice job!

Author's Response: Thanks Thea :) It isn't marked AU, because, also if they did live off the inherted money, I can't see Lily not working... I didn't have Lily think more about it, because, at least in canon, it seems like a spontaneus act, so I continued that - only the act was spontaneus earlier on, when the idea started, Thanks for the review! ~Sunray

Oh, Sunray, this is truely beautiful! There's such a powerful emotion underlying every sentence throughout the story. I love it how you connect Lily's own worries and thoughts with Alex and Roxanne's feelings about the situation.

I especially love the first few pharagraphs where you describe Lily's feelings and thoughts about her job. I think you very well managed to connect with the reader - I could actually feel how sad she is. Wonderful work!

Also, the idea of Lily learning that ancient magic from someone else is very interesting! I've always thought that she didn't even think about magic at all when she sacrificed hersef for Harry. But you wrote it so masterfully that it seems very plausible to me.

I'm sorry for your loss. I think it's so sweet of you to write a story for your uncle. It's always a good way to deal with your own emotions, and to come to terms with the loss. I obviously didn't know him, but I'm sure your uncle would be very proud of you.

Overall, this is a brillant piece of work! I'll just go and read a few more of your stories now :)

Author's Response: Ayse! Thank you! I'm really glad you liked it and found it plausible. Thank you so so so much for your review! ~Sunray

This is so sad. I read your other fics about Lily's Healer career, and I loved those. But this is by far my favorite.

I love Alexander's character. He is such a believable person. Even though I knew all along he was going to die, it still made me upset when he did. I love how much he cared for his wife and unborn child.

The spell was the most interesting thing for me. I love the way the spell worked. In the books it was described as extremely powerful magic. You can see that it is from the way this is written.

I thought that this was so well written. It's great that you were able to write about your uncle's death with this. Sorry about your loss. I really enjoyed reading this.

Author's Response: OMG! Teresa! Thank you! I don't know how to begin! (My friend who is sitting here can testify. I am gawpping...) Thank you so so so much! I'm really happy you enjoyed it. Really I do. I'll PM you later with a better response once I am no longer incapable of thinking.... ~Sunray
