Ooh man Peter! Why? He is so impressionable, and as you said it will definitely get them later on. Im glad you updated though, I cant wait for Harry to be born and then how they react to him being born on the day that considers them for the prophecy. Great job!!

Author's Response: Peter is impressionable and it only ruins him in the end. Harry will be born in chapter 89, so there really isn't a long wait to see that. Thanks for reading!

I'm surprised the sneakoscope didn't go off when Peter opened it--just kidding. You were so kind to Peter in your writing. I was so touched at how Remus interacted with his parents and so disappointed in how his grandparents treated him. Although, I've had experience with that in my own family--some grandchildren are treated differently from others--my kids are on the outs with their grandparents, a tragedy but not my kids' fault--my children tend to be very egalitarian and outspoken and sometimes that's not a good attitude according to my parents. Anyway, I was thinking--Remus has quite the multicultural background compared to his friends. I really enjoyed reading about everyone's Christmas. Poor Sirius, though. I'm loving your book and I'm glad I waited--it's just what I need right now. As for me, I think I have a good idea but I only hope I can put it into words. I guess I'll just have to try--I still have my day job:P

Author's Response: Yeah, it should've gone off! I think I have it go off sometime later, just mentioned in passing. I think Sirius throws it against a wall... I may be wrong. Don't be too disappointed in his grandparents yet. I agree that not all grandchildren get along with their grandparents. God knows that's the case in my family if my grandma's comments about me and my brother were any indication (that's when you promptly go outside and see the non-annoying relatives). Remus does have that kind of background now that you mention it. Sirius really did have a bad Christmas, but there will be better ones! My personal favorite is in second year (chapter 20). You've just got to try and write it and see how it comes out. I wasn't sure I could pull this off, but I guess it worked :) Thanks for reading!

I hope this website lets me give more than one review. The last one ended abruptly when I bumped something and submitted it. I have my laptop on my dining room table and the chair is low and my arms tend to lean on the keys sometimes--then unexpected stuff happens. Now, where was I--commenting on Remus' dad. I felt so bad for Sirius with his mother and her racist remarks. As I said, this sort of thing is going to play a big part in my story. Yes, Bellatrix is going to have a muggle lover--a challenge but I'm hoping I can pull it off--then something hideous is going to happen, she loses him at the hands of muggles (or so she believes), and turns into the prejudiced hag she becomes. Now I'm itching to write again. I want to wait until Christmas break though and when I get my desktop back. That's a little easier to work with. Anyway, excellent chapter. Loved every second of it. Hard to believe Peter becomes what he does:(

Author's Response: Oh I've done that before with my laptop, I'll accidentally close out a window because I'm leaning on the trappad. Sirius's mother definitely won't win Mother of the Year. That actually sounds like a reason for someone to want to go against Muggles. You'll have to tell me when you post your fic, I want to read it. Writing is always much easier when you have a good computer to write on :) It is hard to believe what Peter becomes. I actually just posted the chapter where he joins the Death Eaters. Thanks for reading!

This chapter was absolutely brilliant. I was, of course, delighted when Mr. Lupin stepped in to sub for Flitwick. I should have guessed that Remus came from an academic background.

Author's Response: I actually have a fic where Mr. Lupin was their DADA professor for two years (that was before I knew the curse of that position had lasted for so long). That's definitely where I think his academic background came from. Thanks for reading!

Hmm, there's another author on HPFF who had Flitwick raising his nephew because his sister had been killed--is this the same situation? Sometimes I'm a little out of it with the official word on things. Isn't JKR supposed to be writing an encyclopedia? I had to chuckle at a couple of points--like Kreacher marrying Walburga if that were possible:) Remus being a half-blood and not being welcome in Sirius' house. Not that that's funny but that's the sort of thing I rail against--and that's kind of an underlying theme in my story--Bellatrix trying to impress her muggle lover with quotes of "toujours pur" and him being totally unimpressed. I also tend to giggle nervously at the subject of racism. And, I guess this is when the Marauders started picking on Snape. Kids:) Anyway, my real name's Liana but I couldn't register with that on this site for some reason--apparently someone else had the same name. I'm the one who's always teasing Gryffin_Duck about pheasant--it's our state bird (in the great state of South Dakota) and she's used it as a disgusting dish served in the the Slug Club. Actually, I don't eat pheasant either (not a fan of the wild bird taste) but I usually can't resist bringing it up:) Really good chapter.

Author's Response: No, not the same situation, except for Flitwick's sister being killed. Yeah she's supposed to be writing one, but who knows when it'll be finished? Ooh Kreacher, he would marry her if he could. I get what you mean with Remus. Bellatrix and a Muggle? That's something I would never expect, but it should be interesting. Pheasant will make an appearance in this story too, but not for a number of chapters. I didn't know it was the state bird for South Dakota. Interesting. I don't even know what my state bird is. Thanks for reading!

I can't believe Crane let Remus and Sirius go--although he probably has some other torture up his sleeve. Perhaps McGonagall talked to him. That was kind of mean to make them wait for their detention. Everyone knows that you give a professor 10-15 minutes, depending on the degree she holds, to show up for class or whatever. They were treating Crane as if he had the highest level of education. The idea of hanging Crane up by his knickers was kind of dumb--sorry Sirius. Is this the birth of Marauder pranking?:P Yes, I am a big fan of Gryffin-Duck's work--I'm Liana on the HPFF site. I love her Albus Potter books and the new Marauders. That's how I discovered you--you are also a faithful reviewer--and I'd been planning to read your work for a while. I don't remember how I discovered your work on this site but decided to read this book over here since I can pull this site in at work--sometimes I read at work, depending on my deadlines but don't tell my boss:D So far, I've only been a reviewer but I'm working on my first piece of fanfic writing. It is a story about Bellatrix before she became the hag she became--a tender love story with her falling head over heels in love with a muggle artist. Hopefully, I'll get that up after Christmas. I'm also working on a couple of children's books and need to focus on them--but fanfic is so much more fun. Great chapter, by the way. Can't wait to read more. I made an excellent choice in deciding to read this:)

Author's Response: Yeah I think it's 15 minutes for a professor and 20 for a doctor. At least that's how it goes at my school. They're not really treating Crane that way, they're just terrified of leaving. It is a dumb idea, but he's an eleven year old boy, he'll come up with a better plan soon. Yes this is the birth of their pranking. Ooh I should tell her that, she was wondering what your penname was. I won't tell your boss :-p I'd probably do the same. Congrats on working on your first piece! I hope you post it soon. Thanks for reading!

oh the turn... its funny how one person can change the future so much... nicely written :)

Author's Response: It is funny, and sad, that one person could change that much. Thanks for reading!

There it is - the final step - Peter took the Dark Mark. 'Course he only took it because he's a coward(imho). None of the Marauder's would for a minute that he'd work for Voldy. They don't think he's got the guts. You don't actually need guts to be a DE, you just need to be a moron. And he's really not as smart as he thinks he is.

Author's Response: He really is a coward. He thinks that he'll be safe under Voldemort's protection and he doesn't know that isn't true at all. Thanks for reading!

Crane is such a git. I know he knows that Remus is a werewolf and that's why he couldn't do detention. As always, I feel bad for Remus like I do for poor little Matt in Gryffin_Duck's work. I'm glad that Remus thinks of his room mates as friends. It's strange to think that out of the four, Remus will live the longest. Great chapter.

Author's Response: That basically sums Crane up - he's a git. You read Gryffin_Duck's work too? I love her writing and especially Matt, he's got the title of my favorite OC ever. It is strange to think that Remus lives the longest out of them, especially when he should have the shortest life expectancy considering what he is. Thanks for reading!

Ooo fantastic writer, your writing is amazing. I wish Peter could've been more loyal to his friends! You don't deserve them Peter!
Great writing, keep it up =)

Author's Response: Yeah but if Peter had been loyal to his friends we wouldn't have the HP series, would we? :) Thanks for reading!

Poor Remus--don't all of the teachers know Remus is a werewolf? Surely McGonagall can get him out of the detention. Remus just can't risk going to the detention and then starting to transform. I know something will work out. Poor guys--you'd think they'd know better than to trust a hag for directions:) I guess they had to learn the hard way. Great chapter.

Author's Response: McGonagall could, but Remus doesn't actually go to her. Don't worry, you'll find out what happens in the next chapter. You really think they would know better, but eleven year old boys... Thanks for reading!

Ooh, it gets so dramatic now and I love it even though it leads to something horrible. I thought that it was really sweet that Dumbledore decided to keep the sex of the baby a secret from Lily and James:) Great job!

Author's Response: Yeah it's pretty dramatic from here on out. It's winding down to the end. Dumbledore keeping that a secret was a last minute addition, so I'm glad you liked it! Thanks for reading!

Just as I was thinking about who else was in this group of first years, Frank Longbottom walked in. Interesting that Peter could've been in Slytherin. Although, Harry could've been in Slytherin too, I'd forgotton that this is when the Whomping Willow was planted. As always, I feel bad for Remus, although he's such a sweetie pie. Great chapter.

Author's Response: Yep. I never know how old Frank is compared to the Marauders, so he ended up being their roommate. I love his character, he's a lot of fun to write. Yeah Peter could've been a Slytherin, but for very different reasons than Harry. Yep, Lupin says in POA the willow was planted for him so it would've just appeared that year. He is a sweetie, he's my favorite so you'll be reading a lot about him. Thanks for reading!

I've been thinking of reading this for a long time. I saw it on HPFF and then somehow discovered it here. I love stories about the Marauders even though as we all know it ends badly for all of them. What I liked about this chapter was meeting the Pettigrews and the Lupins. I haven't read any stories that introduced them at all. Great chapter.

Author's Response: Yeah I've got this over at HPFF too. I've seen stories where you meet the Lupins, but not so much the Pettigrews. Glad you like it! Thanks for reading!

Excellent chapter - really lifted my mood. It's sad to see the end of Mrs Sherman. She was such a nice character - but better to not see her than to see her getting killed by those vicious Death Easters!

Loved the scene between Sybll and Dumbledore - it was very well written.

Good job and thanks so much!

Author's Response: I know, it's sad Mrs. Sherman won't be around. She'll stop by their new house, but you won't actually see her. Sirius will just say something. It is better than her getting killed. I'm glad you liked that scene because it was really hard to write. Thanks for reading!

Peter was the one who told the DE's where Remus and Sirius lived, they just don't know yet that he's working against them. Has Voldy already decided he's going after Harry? And if he has already decided that why did he wait until Harry was 15 mo old before attacking? Peter was the Secret Keeper, he could have told Voldy and/or the DE's anytime. Snape went to Dumbledore and warned him who Voldy was going after because he was in love with Lily. Is there something else Snape knows?

Author's Response: In a nutshell, yes Peter did let it slip, though he had no idea he was talking to a Death Eater. He hasn't turned yet, that's in the next chapter. Voldemort hasn't decided yet. Peter only became Secret Keeper a week before the Potters died. There are going to be things happening that lead up to them believing there's a spy and all that. Snape doesn't know anything other than Voldemort wants to kill Lily. Thanks for reading!

sweet the third time they defy the dark lord

Author's Response: Yep it's downhill from there. Thanks for reading!

Very nice chapter. It's sad to see the inevitable emergence of Evil Peter but you have written it very well. I simply love Lily and her caring nature as shown by her interaction with Remus in this chapter. Out of curiosity - how long till Harry gets his name if it is not top secret information? :D

Anyway - good job, look forward to the next chapter.

Author's Response: It is sad, but it had to be done. I always pictured Lily as a very caring person and that would only be amplified when she's pregnant. It's top secret information, but I can tell you that you'll find out in chapter 89. Thanks for reading!

very intense at the end! love it!
