Ooo, very interesting ending!! Can not wait to see what happens in the next chapter.

Author's Response: The beginning of the next chapter picks up with the end of this one, so you'll see what happens fairly quickly. Thanks for reading!

Wow, Lots of excitement in this chapter! And another close call...LOL

Author's Response: Yep, lots of excitement. I actually had no idea what I was doing during this chapter... but I had to make time for their third defiance of course, since Harry will be born soon. Thanks for reading!

Excellent to see Lily and James together now!! I really like long chapters and this is easily one of my favorite stories on Mugglenet :-)

Author's Response: Yeah, this was a fun chapter to write. I like reading long chapters too, so I usually tried to keep them between 6-9pgs. Thanks for reading!

Lily is so kind. It must have been hard for Remus to tell her he was a werewolf. He's lived with it so long that it's old news for him and he might feel like everyone who needs to know already knows. I've had experiences like that before when it's been kind of awkward to tell someone something that was old news to me. I don't know if I explained that very well. You really have to respect Remus. He knows he doesn't have much of a future but he still moves ahead to be the best person he can be. I saw The Wolfman over the week end. It wasn't the best movie I've ever seen but it was good. The werewolf costumes were kind of corny but other than that, the story was good and the scenery was beautiful. All I could think while watching it was "Poor Remus." Great chapter.

Author's Response: It was really hard for Remus and Lily was really kind about it. I know what you mean, if someone knows something for so long it's not a big deal, but to someone else it will be. Remus knows he doesn't but he wants to do whatever's possible to change that. I didn't see the Wolfman. The scenery did look nice from the trai;lers. Aww poor Remus! I would probably be doing the same thing. Thanks for reading!

Did we know from JKR that Lily's parents died in a car accident? I don't remember and there was another author on HPFF who wrote a one-shot of how her parents died. I was just curious because it's not something I remember well. Didn't Petunia tell Harry that his parents died in a car accident? Don't mind my babbling:D I thought James handled his first meeting fairly well. I wonder if Dumbledore knows that Hogwarts students are involved in the Diagon Alley incident. I wonder if Snape was involved. For a brief moment I had a flash of insight into why Peter might turn Dark. If he's worried about his father (I think this is at least the second time there's been something dangerous happening with his father close by) and maybe feels helpless (he's the least powerful of the Marauders) I could see where he might go Dark for misplaced protection. Great chapter.

Author's Response: I'm not sure if JKR ever said how Lily's parents died. Petunia did tell Harry that his parents parents died in a car crash, which could make it interesting in Petunia's perspective. James did handle it pretty well. Dumbledore probably does know that students were involved. I can't honestly say whether or not I wrote if Snape was involved in that... That is part of Peter's turn to the Death Eaters and something about his father does come up in later chapters. He does feel helpless and that does not help him at all. Thanks for reading!

It's a little shocking that Regulus became a Death Eater before he left school. As with any other battle you have to ask Why? Why did this happen? Why were so many people hurt? Blowing up a magical animals shop is truly crazy. And, finally to see Peter go so bad--I can't wait to see how you explain that. Great chapter.

Author's Response: It is shocking, but the reason for that is I started writing this before DH came out and DH is when they say how old Regulus was when he died. I have a year difference between him and Sirius so he would have joined the Death Eaters not long before he died, so he would be one while he was still in school. There's really no reason for the fight, just Death Eaters trying to show their power. Thanks for reading!

First, i really recomend you to send this fic to J.K. Rowling - seriously you should send it to her. It was bloody amazing. I know form the start that im gonna cry my eyes out at the end..and i did - do right now. I dont think anyone would wrote better stroy about S,R, P and J than you..with so many details. I wouldn imagine differently their lives at school. So , just send it to Rowling ok! Thank you !

Author's Response: My aunt told me that when she read this and I've always been tempted to, but then think 'It's JKR and I'm just using her characters...' But that's amazing that you think I should. Thanks so much for reading!

I'm happy that Finely is gone but I'm very uncomfortable not knowing where he is or how he left. If he had been sacked and told to leave by Dumbledore that would've been different but having the creep out there somewhere is scary. I was glad that Remus finally told someone that Finely was harrassing him. He handled that situation so well. It seems that wizard kids grow up so fast. Is this truly the end of Professor Handlin or will we know more about why he died? Do you think Remus could be pushed to the point where he would post the picture of Sirius in his knickers? Great chapter.

Author's Response: Hmm... I forget if I ever broach what Finely does once he disappears... You're right it would have been different if Dumbledore had been the one to handle it, but FInely snuck out on his own. Remus did handle the situation well. They really do grow up a lot faster. Handlin was doing work against Voldemort, so that's why he died. Ha, I think Remus still has the picture of Sirius in his knickers... it's in a box somewhere, Teddy will stumble upon it :-p Thanks for reading!

That was so exciting, witnessing the charming of the Marauders' Map. Now, at some point it must get taken away from them. As I recall, George and Fred gave it to Harry after they'd taken it from Filch's office and used it themselves for a few years. I don't think JKR goes into what happened to the Map for several years until it ends up in Harry's hands. I've always loved stories of the Map and how it insults and talks to people. I remember in particular that scene in PofA when Snape tries to open the Map and it insults him:D Great chapter.

Author's Response: That was a fun chapter to write. In the books, either Remus or Sirius says that the map was confiscated during seventh year, so they've got it for a while. JKR really doesn't say what happened to the map until Fred and George gave it to Harry. You'll get to see the map insult someone by the time it's taken away from them. Thanks for reading!

I thought for a moment that Finely was going to ask Peter to join Voldemort. Only you know whether that happens or not--and I guess I'll know in a few weeks. You've done a really good job of setting up what Peter was feeling (that the other three didn't trust him) and what the other three thought (they didn't want him to worry). This happens so often in real life. We think we know what someone is thinking but we don't and we don't find out and it always leads to trouble. And, this is when Regulus gets involved with the Death Eaters. Do we have any ideas on how long Regulus was a Death Eater? Was it for a long time? Do we know when he took the locket horcrux out of the cave? So many questions. Great chapter.

Author's Response: You know, it really could look like that if you weren't in my head writing it. That's really how I wanted to make it come off, Peter going to Voldemort - it starts as a complete misunderstanding. This is when Regulus is starting to get involved in the Death Eaters. Regulus lasts quite a while. You'll find out all about the horcrux thing in chapter 80, I believe. Thanks for reading!

Stupid me--I sat there wondering for a few seconds whose parents were missing--then I said "Of course, it's the Blacks." The silly boys--they really thought they won something when they won the staring contest, but that's all they won. They still had to clean since they were afraid to cut down the tree. Some Marauders--they do all kinds of dangerous pranks but are afraid of a muggle saw:D I don't blame them. I'd be afraid that I'd cut something off too. Great chapter.

Author's Response: Ha, I actually did the same thing when I read through it the first time - 'Wait! Someone's missing! Oh wait, it's the Blacks, they don't count.' Well, at least they can say Peter can outstare the men, but I don't blame them either. I'd be terrified of chopping a tree down with a saw. Ooh Christmas at the Lupins is so fun to write. Thanks for reading!

Wow............. This has got to be like the BEST STORY I'VE EVER READ!!!!!!!!!!! I love how you made it so descriptive!!!! I also like how you included your version of what happened the night James and Lily died, and Sirius' reaction, and also how Peter felt about his friends. The parts in Peter's point of view really help explain how he went over to the Dark Side. It's also cool how you included the Marauders making the Map, and becoming Animagi. Keep writing! You are my inspiration!

Author's Response: Oh, wow, thanks! Well, JKR only gave us the version from Voldemort's point of view, so I wanted to show what it was like for James and Lily. I tried to include whatever was told about them (which wasn't very much) and I'm glad you liked it! Oh, wow, that's awesome to hear! Thanks for reading!

Those silly boys hexing each other!! Sometimes I'm glad I'm a simple muggle:D I'm sad for Sirius that Uncle Alphard died but I'm glad Sirius was well remembered in his will. I really wish Remus would tell someone about the DADA professor's stupid offer. At least Remus has a warning though. I can understand that a situation like that is so difficult. How do you go and tell someone that the DADA professor is trying to recruit students for the Dark Lord. It's a student's word against a professor's. Great chapter.

Author's Response: Ooh this was the hex war between the boys and Snape. It was fun thinking up what horrible things they could do to each other. Does kind of make you glad to be a Muggle sometimes. Sirius was remembered very well in Alphard's will and he's putting the money to good use. You'll see that in chapter 61, I believe. You'll see what Remus does about Finely in a few chapters. He is in a difficult position, but he will try to do something about it. Thanks for reading!

The Marauders showed such restraint in Honeydukes. They could've totally vandalized the place but they shopped for what they needed and left payment. Now, was the passageway between the castle and the Hog's Head the one that Harry and the Order used to get into Hogwarts before the last Battle? I can't wait to see where you go with them developing the Map. I was just thinking--I've done a lot of reading from different fan fiction authors about how the Map was developed, among other things, and what if someone did a comparative analysis of different stories. Sometimes I'm so OCD:P I can't blame Remus for silently hexing Snape. He deserved that one. Great chapter.

Author's Response: They really could have done all that, but they have their consciences that wouldn't forgive them if they did that. It pro bably is the same passageway the Order used in DH. I doubt there are multiple passages from Hogwarts to the Hogs Head. They'll be developing the map for a few chapters and they finish it in chapter 59 I believe. I've seen a bunch of stories that have different takes on it, my favorite is from a story that no longer exists unfortuantely. Snape soo deserved that hex. Thanks for reading!

I loved the beginning scene in this chapter. I could picture the three animagi escorting the werewolf down the streets of Hogsmeade. It was charming. They were confident they could be of support to him so he wouldn't get into trouble. Confidence can get you places. That Professor Finely, on the other hand, is a beast and an ass. I cannot believe he was openly soliciting Remus to join Voldemort. DADA is such an important class and it's too bad they can never find a decent teacher for it. Although, if you look at it in a positive way, these teachers are good examples of who not to be. As in the immortal words of A Perfect Circle "You're such an inspiration for the ways that I would never ever ever want to be." They might have been able to learn just by defending themselves against an evil teacher. Great chapter.

Author's Response: I had to think for a minute about how the opening scene of this chapter was and now that I remember, I'm glad you liked it! It does show that they've built up a confidence they can help Remus. You've got the perfect description of Finely and he'll only get worse as the year progresses. It's true that they can learn from the teachers, even if they're bad ones, it'll show them exactly what not to become. Though Jones and Handlin were good teachers - the bad ones were Crane, Twikom, Kern (though he was just boring) and Finely. Thanks for reading!

I never thought about making chocolate pudding by roasting chocolate frogs over the fire. I'm not usually a fan of chocolate although I must admit that I have recently acquired a taste for Ghiradelli (sp?) chocolate, especially the kind with filling:D How could James be so dumb about girls that he has to antagonize Lily? The boys were so nice not to comment on Peter's less than stellar grades. I wonder how Regulus figures Sirius broke their mother's heart. It almost sounds like Remus is looking forward to his next full moon anticipating the surprise that James talked about. You know I've always admired the way you write the conversations among the Marauders--it just reads like an actual conversation--very convincing. Have you read gryffin_duck's latest piece about Snape and Lily? It was very well done even though it's a departure from her usual characters. Great chapter.

Author's Response: Yeah, I think I got that idea from my mom making hot chocolate by melting chocolate chips... or maybe she did that after I wrote this. I don't remember. Ghiradelli chocolate is amazing! The fillings are the best part. James is a teenage boy, he'll be dumb when it comes to Lily until that part of his brain matures (... chapter 65!) The boys really were nice not to mention anything about Peter's grades. Regulus is Regulus... God knows why he thinks half the things he does. I think he figures because she blasted Sirius off the family tree. He may be looking forward to it. He is wondering what the surprise is. I'm glad you think that about their conversations! Those, I think, are the most important parts for my story, seeing the boys interact with each other. No, I didn't read it. I'm so behind with that. I'm going to have to take a look at it when I can. Thanks for reading!

All I could think about were two things. One, that Sirius fell down as the Knight Bus approached, much like Harry did in PofA. Two, that I hope I never have such an uncomfortable ride as I would have on the Bus. I get motion sick and I'm sure I would toss my cookies. It's good to see Sirius at the Potter's. Great chapter.

Author's Response: I'd forgotten that Sirius fell over when the Knight Bus came, though it makes sense since I think just about everyone falls over the first time they see a giant purple triple decker. Oh God, that has to be a horrible thing to ride on for people who get motion sick. I used to get that when I was little, not so much anymore thankfully. Thanks for reading!
