Chapter: The Nightmare that Follows

Hi there!
I just read one of your other stories and stopped by to peak at this one and realized I hadn't left a proper review. You've had a great response to this story, congrats! I enjoyed beta-reading it, it was so creepy. It was a great final project for the DADA class. From the spooky setting to the tense action, it was really engrossing and had the reader really worried and scared for Harry and Catherine. I remember gasping when the Erkling held up her nightgown, how terrifying! I loved the song you included too, that was nice touch.
But the end was what made the story. Fantastic way to bring it full circle with the final "too" at the end - so sad!
It was great and I'm glad you've gotten such wonderful reviews! Good luck with your other projects!

Author's Response: Thank you Gina, thank you for helping me with this and I hope it doesn't give you nightmares. ~Kristy

Wow, a very moving fic... That made me cry too... *grabs tissue and carries on with review*.

The fic was amazing at capturing the emotions of Harry and Catherine, and also the action and confusion of the scene with the Erkling. It makes me wish I could write action. Amazing, in short. the last few paragraphs were particularly poigant, with the meeting between Harry and Catherine described really well, and really tugging on the heartstrings.

The only problem I can spot with the fic is where you use 'drug' to refer to Harry dragging his ankle, I think it should be 'dragged' not 'drug'. I loved it though, a very emotional piece.

Ash

Author's Response: Thank you Ash I think I learned more from my DADA class than I ever thought I would.

Now this is an excellent example of a well-written D/A story! Very creepy, nicely detailed and with a precious touch of light contained in the word "Too". You did an wonderful job capturing Harry in a role not often seen in fics, first as a father and then as in a position of helplessnes.

Author's Response: I owe it all to you for helping me see my dark side. Along with the tornodo weather that added the storm details and my own precious "Catherine" as inspitation.

Author's Response: I know, it would have been fun. It changed so much from the other one I started, feel free to use that idea if you haven't done yours yet.

Oh . . . my . . . god . . .

Kristy, this story is absolutely AMAZING, I'd have to say. You had my eyes glued to the screen the entire time; I couldn't bear to leave it just for a moment before finishing.

The detail was wonderful, first off. I especially like your description of the setting in Grimmauld Place, and the way that you used the storm to add to the story and really up the creepy factor was brilliant; it really made the story even better, yet the storm didn't wander into a horrible cliche area, so that was great.

And, my god, Kristy, the twist at the end! It was 100%, completely unexpected; I never would have figured anything like it in years, yet it works brilliantly, and makes this one-shot not only a good story, but a GREAT one! I can't seem to find the words to describe that ending; it was simply perfect!

Lastly, I thought your portrayal of Harry throughout the whole thing was very good, and the interaction between him and little Catherine was so sweet and adorable; it was beautiful, I'd have to say. My favourite part, however, probably is going to be the ending, yes. Everything about those last scenes were wonderful, and I can't think of any sort of thing I would have changed in that.

In short, this was a truly, truly wonderful story. You did a very good job!

~Megan

Author's Response: Ok, you made me blush! Getting reviews from people whose writing I admire is wonderful. I tried very hard to make this a cliche ending. I know there are a few others but I didn't want him to be a complete loss to everyone. I have to say this is the first story I have written that I was truly proud of. Thank you for the wonderful review. ~Kristy

Wow! I can't even begin to tell you how AMAZING this story is! I absolutely love the interaction between Harry and his daughter. It's nice to see Harry as a daddy. :D The most touching moment, though, was at the end, when Harry said "Too" just like his daughter had... Aww, I nearly cried! Very creepy, but very sweet, too; I like that combination. :D

Author's Response: Since I LOVE your writing I will gladly and humbly accept that compliment from you. Thank you.

I really liked this fic. The bond between Harry and his daughter was perfectly written. It was very creepy, yet sweet at the same time. The erkling was creepy, and their relationship was so sweet. It was an amazing read.

Author's Response: thank you. It was hard to write a child that young being injured but I had insporation for it.

creepy as hell. and insane-harry stories make me sad inside, forcing me to realize that there are people who have been screwed up entirely because of something they were born into / through no fault of their own.
and the ending really makes the story "too."

Author's Response: Thank you for reading and reviewing this. I saw that I had a review before I saw that it had been validated. This story creeped me out too because the little girl belongs to me for real. She recently went through a terrible ordeal (her brothers fault) and had nightmares afterwards. For some reason this story just popped into my head afterward.
