Chapter: In Childhood's Twilight, Lily Did I Love

This poem was so pretty. I love how Snape describes his relationship with Lily. It is so tragic and beauty how you describe his relationship with Lily. I love to read poetry, yet I rarely have anytime to read it. This is one of my favorite poems on MNFF.

My plea for life accompanied by her screams.

In penance, now for her child's sake I toil.

These are my favorite lines. The image of Severus watching over Harry, the daughter of the woman he loves, is very interesting. Overall, loved it.

Wow, this is beautiful. The language you've used, and really the syntax of the poem is so perfect for this type of sonnet (and I know nothing about poetry!!). And while Snape is not one of my favorite characters, I will grant that he is *so* fascinating, and you've definitely shown a different side of him here. A job well done! Very well done!

Good luck in the challenge from a fellow Gryffindor! Go Lions! :)

Author's Response: Since University, I have rarely written poetry, choosing instead to use poetic devices in my prose. However, each year, I have my students attempt to write sonnets when they study Shakespeare. I always compose a new one every year as an example, and I show them my process from start to finish. Since I'm in Japan teaching language rather than literature, I've missed my yearly sonnet. Taking up this challenge has been a welcome entertainment. I'm so happy you've read it and that you liked it.

That's so haunting and beautiful! Very nice!

Author's Response: Thanks! This is one of the sonnets that I'm most proud of, as I had to take someone else's characters and work around them. Glad you liked it!

nice i like it!! listen..umm..how did you get into a house? like you are in gryffindor right ? how did you get in it ?

Author's Response: On the Forums, you need to send a PM to songbook99 (I think that's her username). She'll send you the sorting quiz. You take it, and your answers determine what house you're in. :) Thanks for reading the poem!
