Chapter: Dark Escape

Wow, I love the darkness of this fic, I hope this does happen in Deathly Hallows, then Harry comes to the rescue. Anyway, this was really well written-I'm really wishing this wasn't a one-shot but it kind of works better as a one-shot, you managed to capture all the aspects of the war!

Author's Response: Thank you so much for the review, Purple_Monkey. I'm glad that you liked this story.

Yeah, the darkness of the whole thing was my favourite part. I've always wished that the books were a lot darker than they are -- not changing what's in them, just sort of adding to it. That, and Voldemort and the Death Eaters have always come a lot easier to me in terms of writing than Harry and co. do.

And yeah, sorry, it's only a one-shot -- both because that's the rules of the challenge and because I don't really want to expand on it. I got the Death Eaters out of Azkaban -- something that WILL happen in DH if I have to hunt down Jo myself ;) and made the darkness/war even more intense. After all, how else would Voldemort respond post-the demise of Dumbledore?

Again, though, thanks for reading and reviewing!
