Glad that Ma's back- the description of the Northern Lights was quite fascinating. I must admit, I'm anxious to get back to Hogwarts, but I look forward to the letters she'll be getting. ~Jerri

Author's Response: Thanks so much Jerri. Your reviews keep me sane. Letters--yes--there'll be whole chapters worth of those. I love to write letters from all the characters' POVs

So Filch is related to Minerva??? Hmm... interesting. Aunt Donnie is a great characters- I love all the aunts, actually. Keep up the good work! ~Jerri

Author's Response: Filch? Just wait a while on that one. Love Donnie myself. She'll turn up again in an important role near the end.

Great first chapter! It's weird to think of McGonagall playing Quidditch...:p

Author's Response: Thanks, Holly. i think of Minerva in her early years as bright but untutored, sassy, spoilt, a bit of a tomboy. And, oh yeah, she plays Quidditch like a wild woman.

Although I'm glad her Ma is coming home, I admit to being a little dissapointed that Minerva's leaving Hogwarts, since I've enjoyed those chapters immensely. Oh well... I still enjoyed this chapter. The emotions were very well done! ~Jerri

Author's Response: Ditto!

Author's Response: Thanks. She'll be going back soon enough. Gotta take care of this big plot thread with her Ma first though. And we'll stay with Min thru her seven years at the big H. (though she won't get a book for each one like Harry did.)

poor Nick... rejected again. I'm really enjoying the story, though, and if it wasn't eleven at night I'd leave a better review. Suffice to say that it's awesome!

Author's Response: That's okay, I love hearing from you, Jerri.

*sings* Raymie's got a crush... the story has definetely picked up pace. I loved Mandra Gora- she reminded me of Natasha in that old Rocky and Bullwinkle show, if you know what I mean. And I hope Kenny and Minerva become friends- they both love Quidditch, after all. ~Jerri

Author's Response: Yeah, Natasha--and Borees Badeenov! Loved them. Mme. Gora is actually modelled off the Dragon Lady in "Terry and the Pirates", an ancient comic strip. but there's definitely some Natasha in her.

HOGWARTS! *hogwartshappydance* glad to be back... and I loved Minerva's housemates- Poppy is quite funny. But where's my Gig girl? Anyways, great chapter! ~Jerri

Author's Response: I may not have made it clear that Gig is older than Minerva. But she's going to be around a long time.

Phew! I was sure for a minute Petey was a goner... loved the story of Sir Nick thrown in there. An excellent, if unfortunate, story.

Author's Response: Sir Nick is so much fun to write, poor, unappreciated, put-upon fellow that he is. I think the story of the Headless Hunt in CoS is one of my favorites.

yay! She got the right wand! I really liked how you worked in her present day dislike of divination. The whole 'choosing' process was quite interesting.

Author's Response: Yay Rowdie! Yes, I like thinking that there are lots of different family customs in the Magicosm, just like there are with us Muggles. The subject of the wand choosing will come up again when she gets to Hogwarts. I was gratified that JKR decided to spend a lot of time in the final book describing how a wand interacts with its wielder. I haveto agree with her, and I think handing wands down must increase their power.

ooh.... the plot thickens! I really enjoyed reading the Argument- one so big it deserves to be a proper noun. Can't wait to see what happens next! ~Jerri

Author's Response: We won't see the Macnairs much, but when we do, they'll always have an impact.

"and there was that time he let us watch when he pulled that big scab off his knee"... best. line. in the story. =) It's good to see that underneath it all, Minerva's really just a normal kid with magic. On to the next chapter! ~Jerri

Author's Response: I can't say it's an original thought. I got it out of Tom Sawyer; he offered his friend Jim a look at his icky scab if he would help him whitewash Aunt Polly's fence. I do believe Minerva has more than a bit of Tom sawyer in her.

ooh, love the description in this chapter- you have a knack for it, especially when it comes to describing the beast. *shudders* Loving Gig, as always. ~Jerri

Author's Response: I love all of JKR's beasts. can't get enough of them.

(More of a up-till-now review than a chapter review)

This is great stuff, your tweaked wizarding world (Scottish clans) is one of the best fanfic reimaginings I've seen; even the incidental points, like the colour added to wards to demonstrate they're in working order. Rare to see such a good creation (logical and just works together)

Minerva feels like a future McGonagall too.

Although Hogwarts not having a bathroom next to the girl's dorm...?

Author's Response: Thanks, Atre. I'm a great fan of clans and tartans and noble lost causes, so i just had to put 'em all in a book about my favorite Great Scot. Ah, the bathroom. Just had to give the logical, orderly Minerva McGonagall something to stew about. ; )

this review is to cover the last seven chapters... wow! The story is sucking me in again, which is fantastic. Gig is a favorite, of course, but I'll admit Petey's growing on me. I am anxious for her to get to Hogwarts, though... at points I skimmed a bit. Overall, though, great! ~Jerri

Author's Response: Hey, Girl, your patience is rewarded. Next chap "Hogwarts"!!!!!!

i like the story keep it up.

Author's Response: Thanks, Amanda. I will.

Well, at least the chapters are coming fast, but STILL! CLIFFFHANGER much? Yeah, can't say anything to that. Loving Gig, of course, but I almost feel like you cut it off too soon, like I could be pulled into the story more if the chapter was longer. Other than that, though, great work!

Author's Response: I'll keep thatin mind, J.T. Sorry for the delay. We're having problems with our provider...

yay! another great chapter. Your characters are so realistic that I really felt that I was in the cave with them. I need to tell people about this story so you get more reviews... it's a travesty there are only a few of us who seem to know about it! Gig, of course, remains my favorite by far, but Minerva is really growing on me. Keep up the excellent work!

Author's Response: Thanks, J.T. I'm working on getting the message out myself. Got to get on the forums a bit more. There are tons of Minerva fans out there, after all.

a good chapter, though a bit short. Was this Minerva becoming a cat?

Author's Response: Ooooh, don't make me say it. ; )

Another favorite new character emerges in the form of Jacko! Though your chapters are short, they're definetely satisfying. Can't wait for more!

Author's Response: Jacko Gwynn is a good 'source' character. Even if he doesn't actually show up much in the story, everybody knows him and he can be quoted and emulated a lot--especially by Gig.
