You were freakishly close to the truth. I didn't know for sure whether it was Grindelwald or not, but I was mentally riffling through a list of names and his seemed very likely. And then I saw the first review and it was Grindelwald. I think this fic has woven the Wizarding world together with the world of the Muggles (us, unfortunately) really well. Nicely done and written.

I'm guessing that the character speaking is Grindewald. I think you portrayed the scene well. He will win, but won't see his victory.
