Stories like this prove that writing fanfiction can (and should be) an art! You're very good with words, and you're right; a little angst is good. You didn't overdo anything, it was just... beautiful. I'm going to go check out your author's page, see if you have any other fics as well done as this one:).

Author's Response: Thank you, so much. I agree with your appreciation. Fanfic can, and should strive to be, an art. And, it takes a lot of work, and balance ...but when you manage it, it's great. :) So thank you, for reading, and for the comment. It means a lot.
