Author's Response: lol... thank you! I'm glad you're enjoying the tale so far. I'm about a third through the next chapter. Hopefully inspiration will hit soon, and much writing will be done within the week. * * * Thanks, again!

and another--if both Black brothers are alive, how does harry have 13 grimmauld place?

Author's Response: How does Harry have 12 Grimmauld Place? That was part of what Dumbledore was concerned about - he set up an 'override' so to speak. That was the whole issue over Kreacher minding Harry. All part of the set-up.

yet another question, but a less important one (I suppose) : why did sirius remember hermione but not ginny?

Author's Response: um... that would be one of those 'look at the overall plot' things. Sort of a matter of the whole 'connection' thing. Notice: she doesn't have the dream if she's near him...

hermione's connection to the portrait about avalon...which is where they store the wand used to defeat grindelwald....am I getting closer to figuring this out? :) you are an excellent mystery constructor.

Author's Response: *grins* My, my; re-reading the chapters has done you well, m'dear. * * * Thank you! ;D

Chapter: Chapter 2: Conversations Left Unsaid

two interesting things I noticed in my rereading: firstly, the mention of the wand used to defeat Grindelwald. if my memory serves me correctly, this story was started before DH, so I'm really impressed with that sort of funny parallel...
secondly, the first mention of sirius black by hermione is that he is a father figure. tee hee.

and the ever-present question--"who was Raj MacGregor? Really?"

Author's Response: Ahhhh... on your first part - I am SO proud of you. That's all I'll say on that. ;-) * * * On the part about 'father figure'... well, yeah, sort of fits the way she views him, and in turn, he views his role to her. But that will change, and very shortly. * * * The ever-present question? About to get an answer, but the answer was given throughout multitudes of both minor and major clues - well, at least enough to get you on the right track. Look at history discussed within the story. That's key. * * * Thanks for the review! Really, you've done well on noting a few things.

Author's Response: Oh, and yes, this story was begun around October of 2006, making it posted about 9 months prior to DH's release. There are actually a few similarities within the story and DH, surprisingly.

Ok here I go again! *glares at stupid computer* I wrote a really great review earlier *at work shhhh don't tell :o * and the crazey computer zapped it! Ok here's my review!
Oh MY!!! *fans self!!!* That was a great chapter! Sirius oh the poor man! And to have Hermione's hands running over his 'leg' oh my, that was quite a goooooddd part:) My over active imagination had a great time with that! Sirius has 'noticed' Hermione! Oh dear good things are going to come of this! My imagination is running rampant! But I truly loved the ending where Regulus told Sirius that Hermione 'fancied' him ohhh my heart had palpations and the image of a poor confused, frustrated Sirius sitting half naked on a bed....... Let's just say I will be waiting impatiently for the next chapter, please if you have any mercey, update soon!!!!!!!

Author's Response: HAHAHAHA!!!! * * * Sorry; couldn't resist. It was the 'if you have any mercy' part that got me. ;-) Thank you! * * * Um, yes, I'm aware very thoroughly of work computers that toss away all your good work (admits nothing, but has been known to glare at work PC after an hour of TVN writing) * * * I'm glad you liked the chapter - I'm getting mixed comments on Sirius after this: many think he is too self-centered to deserve Hermione, and that Reg is the only one deserving. It's good to see that someone sees what I had intended - a poor Sirius with confusion and frustration and completely clueless regarding her. :-) Soon, though, he may redeem himself in her eyes.... at least, start to do so. But I am pleased incredibly that you enjoyed the chapter, especially enough to need fanning. Cheers, and thanks again!!

So good to have another chapter. Looking forward to more.... still have to say I'm hoping Hermione & Sirius shag... even if that is wrong on a few levels. :)

Author's Response: hahahaha.... that's not wrong at all! ;-) How much of said shagging I could write and still keep this rating, however... we shall see. I've got to be creative. :P * * * Sirius has been getting a lot of flak from this chapter, so I'm glad to see *someone* is still in his corner. * * * Thanks for the review!

Scandalous! I kind of feel bad for Shauna though. Hermione is likely to beat the crap out of her just to let out some frustration. On the other hand I think she deserves it a little.

Author's Response: hahahah... yes, quite scaldalous. Well, only for Hermione, I think! ;-) * * * Um, yes, Shauna... well, she didn't know Hermione fancied him, and she and Sirius *had* been flirting outrageously the last time he was there, but she also knew exactly what she was doing. Both she and Sirius had seen themselves as free agents, of age, consenting and, er, in the need. But now everyone's aware that not everything was a free and clear of conscience as they'd thought. No, Hermione - though she'd feel like it - isn't going to take it out on Shauna, because she knows the girl didn't know. But there will be some serious guilt trips handed down. * * * Thanks for the review!!

I dunno I still like Reg for Hermione. I liked when Reg said, “She fancies you, you know. Granger. ... But you don’t fucking deserve her.” As moments go I think it was my favorite of the chapter. I also think in this instance it's true. Wether Sirius continues to be unworthy remains to be seen. Also it shows Sirius is not the only brave Black. Sirius has a multitude of people to help him should he come back to the world. Right now Reg has one friend, a brother he's only just speaking to again & an almost ally in Hermione. Yet he risks two of the three with his confrontation. Way to go Reg!

Author's Response: Ah, Regulus.... I do love the man, truly. But Sirius, even more so. But fear not for Reg - he has his own agenda, and is far froma helpless little boy. He's a Slytherin, after all. And a Black. ;-) * * * Part of Sirius' problem is that he didn't know she felt that way, that she really has grown up (he still sees her at the girl he knew - to him - only months before, and the man has been celibate for far too long for her overall persona. Now that he's been made aware of things... well, he has a *bit* of direction. * * * Very good point on the brothers - Sirius would have much more support for himself than would Reg. But they are both brave and noble in their own way; they're just so different from each other. But then again, they're not quite so different... * * * Thanks for the review - love the thoughtful consideration on the boys! ;-D

so true ..he doesn't /...poor hermione

Author's Response: lol... after this chapter, everyone (all the reviewers) has/have been picking on poor Sirius! :-P My poor baby.... Anyway, don't worry, he'll make good. It just may take him a bit, but he will. After all, he really didn't know about her feelings (oblivious male), and so in that sense, he wasn't doing anything wrong. He's just... Sirius. * * * He'll come through; just have faith! ;-) * * * Thanks for the review!

Yay! At least Sirius knows now... kind of...

Poor Hermione, caught between brothers, and Raj, and whoever else you decide to throw in here to confuse us. Can't wait for the next chapter!

Author's Response: hahahaha... what other characters would I throw in just to confuse you? hehehehe.... really, though, the vast majority of any characters you will see have already been introduced, though perhaps only in passing. There *should* be some answers in the next chapter. * * * Thanks for the review!!

I'm really quite addicted to your story. It's so nice to read something that is not just romance and fluff, but has a well thought out plot. I didn't think I'd like Hermione and Sirius, but you've portrayed it well and I'm really enjoying it. I can't wait for the next chapter. Don't keep us waiting!

Author's Response: Why, THANK YOU! I've just posted (a whole ten minutes ago) the next chapter at another site. After I put the HTML in it and leave it for review here, it should hopefully be up within a week or so, depending on the moderator's schedule. ;-) * * * I'm glad you 're giving the pairing a chance - I'm a huge fan of Sirius', and Hermione is such a lovely character to delve into. * * * lol, I know what you mean; all fluff and love and no plot makes for a distractingly dull story! * * * Thanks, again for the review - I love them.

Ahhhhhhhhh!!!! What a tangled web you weave! The way you've introduced so many new and old faces in this chapter is truly genious! Poor MacGonagall it's a wonder she didn't have a heart attack seeing the two Black brothers like that! And poor Hermione she really has had a lot to deal with! And Merlin! But what is it with this Raj and his ties to family..... Oh what a tangled web you are weaveing!!!!!! Excellent job! As uaual I can't wait for the next chapter! *grins to self, and gives two thumbs up to the authur!* p.s. I can't spell tonight:)

Author's Response: lol... that's all right; there are often nights I can't spell. ;-P * * Yes, it is a tangled web, indeed, but it is also starting to draw a lovely picture to follow. This next chapter will incorporate more action, more answers, and some puzzle-piece connections. I promise! * * * Yes, poor McGonagall. She was ready for a drink after that, I can tell you. I hope you caught her brother-in-law's name... * * * Thank you for such a splendid review! Hope you continue to enjoy it. :D

My oh my cliffies all around. While Hermione feels somethiing for Sirius & Sirius feels a fair bit of guilt I would almost like to see Hermione & Regulus together. (At least in this story)Plus: McGonagal & Raj & Blue oh my!

Author's Response: lol... funny you should say that ;-) * * Regulus does see Hermione as something potential, to much chagrin of certain others. * * The next chapter will see some actual answers and connections, and hopefully clear up a few of those cliffhangers. Thanks much for the review!

so...well done. i got a bit confused this chapter--tho when have I ever not gotten confused??--mainly about your grammar in some of the paragraphs toward the end.

I've said this before and I'll say it again: god, i really need to go back and reread the beginning of this story...

sometimes in this chapter, it seemed as if what the characters were saying was kind of out of character. esp the flowery speech coming from regulus...

and thank you for finally telling us something more about raj!! tho I'm not completely sure what it was that you said...*must concentrate harder*...

Author's Response: lol... yes, it does seem a bit occ for Reg, but he was in a reminiscent mood - he's had too much time to think, and too many emotions to come to terms with regarding Sirius. Trust me, you'll see a bit of what would be the 'old Reg' come out soon enough, but not in the way that OotP Sirius portrays him - he was a *tad bit* biased! ;-) * * It is a confusing chapter, admitedly. And for whatever strange reason, I had a hard time getting it written. I'm currently fighting with the next one, but am hoping it will finally drop into place. * * Yes; rereading the first part might help to catch the nuances of this chapter, as there were a few references that pertained to early portions of the story. * * You're most welcome about Raj - in fact, you'll learn a great deal more very soon. * * Thanks, again!

regulus speaks very poetically. is that how he succeeded at being a singer? it didn't sound like the same person talking as regulus in the last chapter...but whatever. the sentiment was moving.

Author's Response: Ah, yes... haven't we all had our poetic moments? :-P Actually, he's been quite thoughtful as of late; perhaps I should make a point to clarify that in the next chapter. I'm glad you noted it. * * I am definitley trying to show that Reg is not the same boy he was twenty years prior, nor is he the same boy that Sirius remembers (colored memory) and had described to Harry, et al. Singing gave Reg a chance to break out of the mold he'd been casted in by family, reputation, circumstances. In fact, since you brought that up, I do believe I will definitely make a point to clarify that. See how these reviews help??? :D

Please forgive me!!!!! *gets down on knees to beg* I'm sorry it took me a whole 5 days to read your update! I am so sorry! But Oh it was worth the forced wait! When Hermione woke up next to Sirius...... * good thing I was sitting down when I read it! * Then she started to ...... OH MY! *sighs dreamily* Well needless to say I loved that part!. Poor Hermione when she thought it had been Regulas! *still chuckle'in at that* I think that the appearence of Regulas is going to help find Harry and the grail of course, but oh the tension it's going to cause :) *quivers in excitement* Wonderful job as usual! * shuffles forward on knees * I hope you understand I can't just read your story, it has to be savored, like a 7 course meal, you just can't rush it, so that is why it took me 5 days to find the time to do just that, savor this latest update! Now I can't wait for the next chapter!

Author's Response: You are forgiven; with a review like that, how can I not do so? ;-P *offers hand in rising from knees* * * * I wondered what the general reaction would be to the 'test' - I'm glad you liked it! You're the only one, actually, to comment on it. And Regulus... he has many a part to play, the search and protection of the Grail being just two issues for him. The Grail itself is but a small part, as well; a transition, or catalyst if you will. * * * A 7-course meal? *grins happily* Again, you are more than forgiven. I'm glad you liked it. * * * Hermione has her emotional work cut out for her now, along with the weight of Ron and Harry and her academic career. Currently the next chapter is being studiously written on as I jot down words here. Hope it will be worth the wait for you. * * * Thanks, again! Cheers!

What an interesting love triangle that is! I can't wait to read more!
