Author's Response: Thank you!! *hands tissue* Thank you so much for reviewing my stories!
omg!!! its so heartbreaking! i did cry, but i loved your one shot!
Author's Response: Thank you. :]
Awww! Wonderful song choice. This was an incredibly sad (yet brilliantly written) songfic. I just can't help but say it one more time. Awww!
Cascading spikes of life, drenching the streets and filling eyes with tremendous power.
Wow. Just wow. The language in this sentence is just so powerful; it's amazing. Especially spikes of life. The life in it makes it seem so tender, so soft. Yet, obviously spikes is the opposite of that, making it seem sharp. Somehow, this makes sense in my head.
He was alone, of course, save one or two house elves.
House-elves, with a hyphen.
She was beautiful, yet not many realized it.
I really like how he comes straight out and says it --er-- thinks it. It makes her beauty feel so much more subjective, and consequently more precious to Draco. Also, realized is the American version of the British realised.
While he roamed about his house, or the countless jobs he unable to maintain, he always found a way to tie something to her.
In this simple sentence, you somehow managed to take all of that emotion Draco was experiencing, and make it very straight-forward. I really like the idea that he can't function properly without her. That he no only wants her in his life, but he literally needs her. Also, you're missing a verb. It should be 'the countless jobs he was unable to maintain.'
Overall, this songfic was fantastic! Although, wherever you got the lyrics, I think they forgot some commas. From the way I read it, the second and last stanza should have commas before 'baby'. But then again, I am a comma/hyphen Nazi, so I sometimes put them in where they're not a must.
Keep up the wonderful writing!
Author's Response: AH! *huggles review* *huggles Danielle* Are you a beta? Honestly, if you're not, I think you should consider it. Next fic I have, can I send it through you? *begs* lol Thank you so much for your awesome review!
This was stunning. The song was placed perfectly in the fic. This was so beautiful. I noticed a couple of spelling mistakes but I forget where they are, they were minor anyway and I think there were only two. But really amazing job.
Author's Response: Thank you. This fic is close to my heart and I'm glad to hear that you find it stunning. =] Thanks again!
I think that this was amazing - though I didn't cry, I was really, really close to crying!
I would just like to say that Draco seems relativley in character throughout the entire fic - and that can be difficult. His reaction to Hermione's actions seemed in compliance with both the pre- and post-HBP Draco (I am referring to the bathroom scene where Draco's softer side if revealed, in case you were wondering. :P) However, he did wander from the Draco that we know in canon a few times, but I still think that he is a very believeable fanfic!Draco.
Secondly, I think that the song that you chose really illustrates the feelings that Draco has for Hermione, even though she has left him. The line "One thousand lies made me colder/And I don’t think I can look at this the same." really seemed to touch upon the character of Draco. Of course, in this story, we never know whether or not he followed Voldemort, but if he did, then this would definatley effect him more that any other line of the song.
Finally, the factor of the immense description of the city and the rain really made me see that Draco is, in fact, "small" like anyone else - he's not special and he still has emotions. He's just better at hiding them. And I think it was special to me because the rain has the same effect on me.
Author's Response: Thank you so much for the fantastic review. =]
Yh i really do have tears in ma eyes...u did a great job !...its one of the best fics i ve ever cum across with...
Author's Response: Wow, really? Thank you so much! =D
omg that was amazing!
Author's Response: =] Thank you!
omg this is so beautiful...lol...it wasnt that long but it still made me cry!!!! i absolutely LOVED it!!! you should have made it longer, then i would be totally HOOKED...
Author's Response: Thank you! Sorry for it's shortness.. Glad you liked it, though!
The rain, thrashing down from the heavenly sky, was a downpour on the city below. Cascading spikes of life, drenching the streets and filling eyes with tremendous power.
What a truly wonderful start to this story. I love the metaphors that you used; they were very powerful, and the voacabulary was great.
You seriously almost made me cry! That was a very emotional fic, and I hope that you weren't writing from personal experience, because it was very sad. You did a great job on those aspects.
I like how you keep the readers wondering. You don't know what happened to Hermione in this fic, and why that she isn't with Draco in the first place. Did she die? Did he cheat on her, and he lost her? That could be why he talks about Hermione being his first and only love.
I absolutely LOVE this Three Doors Down song, and saw them in concert. I could see them in my mind's eye while reading this, and coudl hear the song playing as I read. Great choice.
Using the rain as another aspect in this fic for Draco's sadness was quite brilliant, if I might say so. I like how you used it in the first sentences as 'just another shower'.
Overall, a wonderful fic. This was recommended to me, so I definitely thought that I'd check it out. Great fic, and I hope to see more Hermione/Draco romances from you.
Author's Response: Wow, what an *amazing* review! Thank you so much! *squees because her fic was actually recomended from one person to another* :D You're so lucky you got to see them! Thanks again for the review!
that was beautiful!!! wow. im amazed. this is coming over to my favs right now! i just luved how u put the lyrics in between and how u unified it so nicely! KEEP IT UP!
Author's Response: :D Thank you so much!
amazing!! what will happen? i love it. i love it. i love it!!
Though the begining of the story magnified a little of what ive been fealing lately.... which is sad (u see my bf broke up w/ me about a month ago. when read those words i didnt do anything but my heart felt like it had been riped out and shattered on the ground; it felt like someone had just stabbed it; ripped it aprt. i realy loved him. now he's going out with someone i had gotten nto a fight with not three weeks before he dumped me... theyve been going out for about a month. my haert is almost healed i think [i hope] but i think that scar will always be there... sory for that i know u probably dont care... i tend to rand. sry)
Author's Response: Thank you for the review. Of course I care! This story has meant a lot to be because I, too, have felt the emotions in this fic (through different ways, lol, I didn't have a love for Hermione or anything..), so I can honestly say I understand what you feel. I've been through it. Eventually, your heart will heal and the scar will wither.I hope you feel better. *huggles*
That was beautiful.
And yes, it made me cry =[
Author's Response: *hands first tissue* It's alright. :) I cried, too. Thanks for the review!
WAAAHhh!!! Great! Great! Great! sad but excellent story! =0)
Author's Response: :) Thank you so much!
wow...tht was seriously the best piece of fanfiction i've ever read...i cried like three sentences in...way to go
Author's Response: Oh, wow. Thank you so much. This made my night. :) I'm really glad you liked it .
did they break up if so then why
the way you described ot the love there seemed eternal
if that makes ant sense at all
Author's Response: Yeah, they went out for a while, but one day, Hermione left him. That's why he's so sad, because she litterally left him. Walked out... yeah, I know. Sad. lol. And it makes sence. But just because he felt this way about her, didn't mean she felt the exact same way, or was so sure. So.. yeah. :D I'm glad you like it, though. If you like'd it, lol.
IT made me think of the John Lennon song "Woman". But did she die? What happened? Bittersweet story, though, and I liked it.
Author's Response: No, she didn't die. She just left him, lol. I've never heard that song, I'm sorry to say. Thanks!
OMG! that was awesome! PLS RIGHT A FALLOW UP!
Author's Response: lol, Thanks. Hmm. I dunno. I think it might be staying just like this.. but you never know.
I'm so proud of you dear. Your style and voice have truly grown since your first one-shot, and I'm happy I could play even a small part in this lovely development from fanfiction dabbler to true writer. Keep it up, Sarah! I look forward to seeing what you do next =)
Author's Response: Thank you, Ashley! I'm really glad you've been with me since the start. You're the best! *shows off awesome beta to other reviewers!* :D
