Eris seems to have fun wherever she is. Severus has fun in spite of himself. Despite his sarcasm, Severus seemed to take note of the meaning of different flowers and flower colors. My Grandpa used to take me to carnivals when I was little--those and rodeos. You know, for a man who wasn't highly educated, Grandpa was very intelligent. I learned a lot from him about everything. Fenrir had to show his hideous face. I'm so glad that Severus showed no fear--even when the claws came out. Great chapter.
Author's Response: Louisa May Alcott said "Life is my college. May I graduate well, and earn some honors!" Sounds like your grandpa earned honors, too! :)
One of my favorite parts was when Severus was wondering if all women were Hufflepuffs. That was so cute when Eris became the fairy princess for the little girls--I'm sure they'll never forget it. I found myself wishing that they could just enjoy life without letters (threats) from people like Tom, but then I guess it wouldn't be realistic. Everyone needs a little tension in their life to make things interesting. You know, I think vampires are intense, as a general characteristic. They're always good looking and they can be very old--that's why I don't feel too creepy lusting after Edward Cullen--he's over 100 years old:) You know who else I love? Eric Northman from the Sookie Stackhouse books--he's around 1000 years old:) Great chapter.
I have the Beach Boys singing wouldn't it be nice in my head now. :D
If life never has tension, you wouldn't appreciate the good times properly, and characters would be undeserving of their happy ending. ;)
Eric! I remember him. He was cute when he lost his memory. I read the first few books in the series, but in the end, like with Anita Blake Vampire Hunter, my inner romantic protested the goes-through-all-the-hot-guys progression of the storyline, and I stopped reading.
I just couldn't resist starting the sequel. But, this is my last chapter for the night. I've got to start getting Fynn and Sam ready for bed. I loved this chapter. Severus can be so romantic. It's that dark intensity that attracts me. The bubble bath scene was so funny, especially when Tom walked in. It is so clever to let Eris accompany Severus as his cat. The Welsh castle sounds incredible and better yet after Eris' transfigurations. Excellent chapter.
Author's Response: Thank you for not being able to wait to start the sequel! Intensity is attractive. Look at all the Edward Cullen fans. :D If he was just a pretty face, would women of all ages swoon? Don't think so, heh. Snape isn't a pretty-boy, but he has a lot more going for him and beauty, after all, is in the eye of the beholder. ;)
I absolutely loved the fairy princess part! It was adorable, and very well done!
Author's Response: Severus may not like children, but like cats who find the one non-cat-lover in a room to twine around, they're drawn to him, LOL. Thank you! :)
I love the ending! Snape is the youngest Potions Master in Britain, he's with Eris (who, shall I say for the hundredth time, make the perfect couple), and James and Lily are married. I love it!!
Author's Response: I'll never get tired of hearing you say that. :D Thank you!
The scene with the two little muggles girls was so cute. I've never heard anything more hilariously true than:
Sardonically, he wondered if all women, regardless of age or magical ability, were Hufflepuffs inside.
Author's Response: Thank you, and I think every woman who is willing to do anything for love is! :D
Was I the only one wishing it was a poltergiest? lol
Author's Response: It's so funny you're reading this. I have a Sirius Marauder Era story called Semi Charmed Life that might make you squirm less, LOL. (not that I'm not thrilled you're reading, cause heck yeah I am!)
Was I the only one wishing it was a poltergiest? lol
Author's Response: Probably! :D
pure wonder! excellent story!! although at the beginning, it would be better if you gave us some background information and didn't just thrust us into the story, in case some of us haven't read More Than A Feeling *glares at those who haven't*
I like the way you put so much Welsh into it, and the festivals were really cool. when the girl asked if he was goth I nearly split my sides laughing. :D
and when everyone thought he was Scrooge, that was really funny! have you seen the musical 'A Christmas Carol'? the one with Kelsey Grammer? it's really good.
And I do play Dungeons and Dragons.
I particularly like Mordred, a crotchety old guy with a twisted sense of humor. ;D
it was too bad that Tyr died, he was a cool character.
now I have to go read Into the Dark. which I bet will be as great as everything else you've written. :)
Author's Response: Is the Kelsey Grammar one the same as the old Albert Finney as Scrooge with songs like 'I hate Christmas', 'December the 25th' and 'Thank you very much'?
Whether it is or not, thank you very, very, very much for reading this story! I did put background in, but it was woven into the first chapter, after the opening scene. ;) Yay for you wanting to read the one shot that follows! I'm so thankful, I won't even tease about D&D. ^_~
Aw. It's too bad he had to die! This whole story was great, with fluffy parts and romantic parts but also sad and angsty and even adventurous bits! Brilliant!
This last chapter was a great way to end it, too, sort of an epilogue, I guess. I feel so sorry for Eris, though! She can't have anything, no friends, no life, really. Still, I hope she and Severus are happy! You really made your OC come to life! This has been a great fic!
Author's Response: Aw, your reviews have been so fabulous, I wish the story was longer just so I could read more of them! :D
In the one shot, Eris will find ways to make friends, even if it's as a cat. She reminds me of that Finger 11 song 'One Thing.'
If I traded it all
If I gave it all away for one thing
Just for one thing
If I sorted it out
If I knew all about this one thing
Wouldnít that be something?
:D More dragons! And seeing into their minds! Cool! It's a good thing Voldemort can't use them though, if you ask me... I loved reading about Severus' trip to see the dragons! Mordred and Baudwin are really funny! The only problem is that there's only one chapter left...
Author's Response: The dragons aren't like the ones of Pern or AlagaŽsŪa, that's for sure...and I agree it's a good thing!
What a dark chapter! Good though! :) I love that Severus has to do the convincing and that he's so much cleverer than Bellatrix. His brilliance really comes through. The whole cat in heat thing was hilarious! I hadn't even thought of the ribbon! It's great how you work humor into even the darkest of chapters!
Author's Response: Humor, like romance, makes the dark parts of life bearable. :) I'm glad you think so too!
Eek. Bellatrix staying the night... without Eris around... But I'm sure Severus will hold his own. I'm glad Severus finally had a happy birthday! He definitely deserved it. I love how Eris refuses to fight for Voldemort but doesn't stop Severus and even helps him. That cloak... creepy! It makes her such a real character and an original one, :D!
Author's Response: Forget Hallmark cards....it's when you care enough to make a Holocaust cloak! :D
Poor Severus! What a sad life... I liked finding out the details of his parents' relationship, though, even if it was very bittersweet, heavy on the bitter. I'm so glad Severus has Eris there to take care of him as Eileen says! His last conversation with his father was sad, too. It's awful that Severus feels he has to pretend not to feel anything for fear of being weak. *sniff* You portray him and his family sooo well!
Author's Response: You made my night sparkly by saying that! :)
Even though the ending was mysterious and seemed sad, the first part of this chapter was very sweet! I loved everyone taking Severus for Scrooge at the Festival! :D And the idea of Eileen having entranced her husband is a great one and I can't wait to see how this is continued!
Author's Response: Wouldn't he make a great young Scrooge? :) Eileen wouldn't be the first woman who used magic to get her man, heh. Thank you for liking that part of the story!
What a way to end a chapter! I wonder where everything will go from here... Seeing "Uncle Fenny" was rather disconcerting, as it seems as if he was a pretty decent guy... Eris loved him... Anyway... I wonder if he is her father and if we will ever know. And I wonder what will happen next in this awesome story! :D
Author's Response: Fenrir is feral and vicious....and yet he loves his 'little girl' (and his sister in law too, heh) Thank you for reading and looking forward to finding out what happens next!
Rest assured, the results of your incorporation of everything you include is enjoyed! :D I liked seeing the Food and Drink Festival, especially Severus buying rose petals and being asked if he was a goth! :D Only he could think they meant he looked Germanic"! I can't wait to see where this is going, so I shall read on now...
Author's Response: Most people in the Wizarding world have Muggle relatives and exposure to Muggle culture and references that go way beyond what's taught in Muggle Studies class, but Severus is comparatively clueless in this area, hehheh.
Severus daydreams! :) So cute! As were the little girls... I think Severus might be right... there's a Hufflepuff in all of us, I suppose. :D Great chapter! I enjoy the whole "dragon" idea - very sweet, as is Eris attempting to speak Welsh. Severus would master it faster, wouldn't he, just so he can correct her... :D Tom's wild goose chase in Paris is funny, though I feel a bit guilty for hoping the creep visits again... I'll just have to find out... :)
Author's Response: You have Severus pegged--learning so he correct her! LOL Tom sends letters, and he is in the one shot that follows this story! :]
Aww. What a sweet beginning to what promises to be a wonderful sequel! :D I love that he's married and Severus has been worrying about Eris "affections"! Lol! Plus, I liked seeing Tom, even if he is a creepy git... I hope he comes back. And Wales is cool! Down with the English! (lol! That is bizarre...:D)
Author's Response: Thank you, thank you! Severus and Eris aren't married, since a secret wedding would be hard to pull off, but they are joined in their hearts if not an official joining ceremony. Yay for you liking Tom's return and Wales!
Liked it just wish they would come faster. I guess you wait for so many reviews before posting another on.
Author's Response: No, I'm not like that. Whether I get two reviews or twenty, I update whenever I have another chapter. This story is complete, that's why it hasn't updated. There is a one shot that follows, Into the Dark if you get the chance to read! Thank you for reading this story. :)
