hi there. this is one of my favorite stories but how come i keep getting emails saying you have updated with chapter 13. ive gotten a total of 5 i think but when i check all i see is chapter 12. which ive read before.

ok so my first question is: Are we saying that baby harry is half a year old? He was born in July so that would make sense...
My second question (and u might have answered this in the story, but i forgot) is: why cant harry and ginny just save his parents? i know that time travel is hard but they could just bring them forward, back to the future (hehe) with them (if they do manage to go back the same way they came) though, in that situation i dont know what they would do with baby Harry...

Author's Response: Yes, baby Harry is half a year old. Well, five months, if you want to get technical, since he was born on July 31 and it is now December 22. The reason Harry can't save his parents is b/c of the time paradox. I'm going with the idea that if you go back into the past, it's in the past, so you'll still have the same future. So, if Harry's parents are dead in the future, then nothing he did in the past will have saved them. It's like what Rowling's done in the Prisoner of Azkaban. Notice, everything that Harry and Hermione did when they went into the past had already happened, even though they didn't know it at the time. And really, this story isn't about them saving the world or whatever; it's about Harry getting to spend one happy, peaceful holiday with all of his family and friends together. And besides, if his parents hadn't died, he wouldn't have been the Chosen One, and everything would be different, and possibly worse.

the first chapter was a little...odd...and it took a while to get used to the AU, but the 2nd chap was REALLY good and the 5th almost made me cry

Author's Response: I'm waiting on my beta to get chapter 13 back to me. I'd sent it to her right before Hurricane Gustav hit, and we were both affected by it. But it should be posted in the next few weeks.
This is fantastic! I really like how you switch between James and Lily and Harry and Ginny. With your writing, you can imagine yourself as a particular character, and James and Lily are portayed as my vision of "perfect parents" I love how you have portrayed them and their antics. I am dissappointed that you haven't replyed yet, but I will wait patiently for you to come out with your next chapter.

Oh that was so sad when James was saying how Harry would live with Sirius. You know most of this chapter I was in verge of tears...but it is an amazing story so far!

Author's Response: I know...and I do feel really bad about it, but I'm going to try and get another chapter out by September, hopefully. I was working, and I just moved cross-country and I have a new job and so on, and I haven't really had time to write, but I am still trying. I'll let you know if I really decide to stop updating.
