Chapter: Chapter 34: Battle at the Ministry

Wow...I mean, wow. I'm not saying this because of shock, but because this is EXACTLY how I pictured the series ending in real life. Obviously, there are some differences, such as Dumbledore still being there, but now I HAVE to read the last chapter. Bye for now!

Author's Response: Thanks! Of course, the next chapter will be the real shocker, I'm sure. ;-) I'm glad you liked this chapter so much.

Chapter: Chapter 25: Valentines

Good news! I found a mistake in punctuation in this chapter. Yes, that is good news. You want to know why? Because it's the first mistake I've found in the whole story so far. I must say, you are very good at punctuation and grammar. Do you beta-read, by any chance?

Author's Response: Thank you! I wish you would've told me where the mistake was, though, so I could correct it. I am just starting to beta read for someone, but I'm still not sure how it's going to work out. Thanks for leaving a review. :-)

Chapter: Chapter 21: False Death

Very clever with the Latin roots there...well, on with my reading!

Author's Response: Thank you! You have no idea how long I spent in front of an online Latin translator to come up with that. I'm glad you appreciate it. :-)

Chapter: Chapter 17: Surprise!

Oh, yes, he gets the girl and his memory back! But somehow, with half the story left to go, I have a feeling it won't last long...well, I'll keep reading and see!

Author's Response: Thanks for the review. I think you'll find that I don't really like the "teen angst" thing, so if a couple isn't together, there will always be a good reason for it. In this case, there's a lot to go in the story because it's about a lot more than just Harry's memory loss and relationship with Ginny. ;-)

Chapter: Chapter 6: Tom

Well, I must stop my two-hour streak of reading this and the prequel here momentarily to say...this story is great! I think you write the characters very well, and you're style resembles JKR's a bit. Actually, the events described here would be exactly how I would imagine if Umbridge had actually managed to wipe Harry's memory.

I'm also assuming this was written pre-HBP...? No matter...very good so far! Well, back to reading...

Author's Response: Thank you very much! I really appreciate your comments. I actually wrote this story after HBP came out, but the plot wouldn't have worked in a post-HBP universe. The result is that I ignored HBP, and what should have been Harry's sixth year was spent at St. Brutus's.

Chapter: Chapter 35: Beyond the Veil

To say that this wasn't the ending I was expecting would be a bit of an understatement. Okay, it would be a HUGE understatement. The battle scene in the previous chapter was handled extremely well. You know I've always envied you your battle scenes.

This chapter just - stunned me. Even reading it again tonight so I could review it - I'm still stunned. That is the only word I can really think of. I think I now know how my readers felt at the end of Forced to Love. Shocked - that's another good word.

Technicality wise, the story was great, as usual, but there seemed to be something missing from this chapter. That certain essence that imbued your stories with realism is gone. Don't get me wrong, I love the happy ending.

I think it is fantastic that everything ended so well, and everyone was so happy - but I just can't believe it. War is never that pretty. There are always horrible losses.

Having said that, your idea to use the room beyond the veil as the locked room was inspired, as always. And now, the purpose of showing the False Death Charm truly comes out - excellent story-telling.

It's a wonderful story, and I'm very glad I happened upon it that day long ago.

Best of luck in your future endeavors.

Author's Response: Thanks very much for the review, Kasey. I'm sorry the ending didn't quite do it for you, but after seeing the end of Forced to Love, I can't say I'm surprised. We've just got a different view of how it should end. ;-)

That being said, I know full well that the ending of this story wasn't realistic. The thing is, I was going for happy more than realistic, as you realized. I decided a long time back that I was going to write the happiest ending I could to this story without going completely overboard (partially just to see if I could pull it off).

I'm very glad you enjoyed the story, despite the fact that the ending was somewhat lacking in realism. The only other thing I'll say in my defense is that there really wasn't an all-out war in this story the way there are in some others, so I don't feel too terrible about not killing anybody off.

Thanks for sticking with me all this time, and for letting me know your thoughts. Now you know for the future, though: I like happy endings. :-) I'm actually trying to write a Dark/Angsty story right now, and it's turning out to be really hard -- not coming up with the storyline or anything, but actually getting it all written down. It's draining. But, if I know myself (which I think I do), even that one will probably end up with at least a semi-happy ending. It's just the eternal optimist in me, I guess. So if you ever run across a story I've written where things start out okay, and then go to bad, to worse, to even worse, and then go back to okay at the very end, you won't be surprised. ;-)

Thanks for everything; it's been fun.

Chapter: Chapter 18: Approval and Disapproval

Sheesh!!! percy sure has got a temper!!

Author's Response: Yeah, I probably gave him TOO much of a temper here, to be honest. But it seemed to fit, so I went with it.

Chapter: Chapter 13: Depression and Rejection

Poor Harry! He's so empty. Thats how I feel.

Author's Response: Just imagine how it was for the poor people who were reading this as it was posted. This was the last chapter to be approved before the queue closed for Christmas. I felt really bad leaving everyone on that note.

Chapter: Chapter 11: Halloween

Dumbledore just interrupted that tender moment. Arrgh!!! She really needs to learn to trust him.

Author's Response: Yeah, she does. And you're right; Dumbledore did interrupt the moment, but he felt bad about it and he did do it for a good reason.

I looked on her profile and I can't find it!!

Author's Response: I just checked, and it's still there. Of course, she didn't mean for it to be a hint about my story. It's just something she says in her profile that made me realize she would like the ending. But that's not such a big deal anymore, since the entire story has been posted now. :-)

Chapter: Chapter 7: Parties and Presents

This is like a fight going on between the two of them!!! Just let Ginny accept him Please!!!

Author's Response: Haha! If it's a fight, then it's a very friendly fight. Ginny really does want to accept him, but she's deathly afraid of trusting someone completely and she knows it will ruin their relationship if she can't trust him. Don't worry; she'll come around. ;-)

Chapter: Chapter 6: Tom

Poor Harry! She really got his hopes up, even when it's his birthday!!

Author's Response: Yeah, I feel really bad for both of them. At least they both know where they stand, though, even if it's not exactly what they want.
