Oh that ending was heart-breaking, but very realistic. I really think that Remus would walk away from her rather than risk hurting her. They were both wonderfully in character.

I'm sorry it's over, but it's a beautiful ending! I suppose that's a rather strange thing to say, seeing as it ends so unhappily, but you do such a wonderful job of conveying Remus' emotions and mind. Besides, it fits with canon, so we know it could end happily ;D
I love how Remus realizes the truth in bits and pieces -- his feelings for her, the nonverbal signals she sent, the way the conversation turns to where he didn't expect -- and his moment of enlightenment is fantastic:
He felt his heart doing an involuntary jig inside his chest, even though his head was screaming warnings at him. Tonks…was…she wanted…
Tonks wanted…him?
The slow, self-doubting though process reveals his sweet humility, and how much he loves her -- "I'm not good enough."
You've worked the song lyrics in excellently -- the song itself is a happier one than this story, but you spaced them nicely so that they work out quite well.
Great job! I look forward to reading more of your work!
