brilliant endind it made me cry
Author's Response: Thank you so much! I'm so glad you enjoyed this story, I'm really proud of it. I appreciate the lovely review!! ~Gina :)
oh, right, good one about the Time-turner. I was just about to say that in canon, it would be good that they were ALL destroyed, but then now i see how Dumby's keeping was safe and convenient after all.
oh, and Gin, i will confess now that i haven't read the next chapters after the first during our PM's, so please don't be offended and think that i took your Disillusionment Charm idea without acknowledgment! hihi! ^-^ been busy just then, see.
*sigh and sniffle* Ron and Harry's friendship was captured like a perfect photo here, and Harry's words to Hermione actually made me choke with grief, no exaggerating. this was a lovely story, every detail was tied up neatly. that should make up for the stupendously sad denouement.
Author's Response: Well, I stole the Disillusionment Charm from Professor Moody, so I can hardly take credit. ;) I'm so glad you read this story and (hopefully) enjoyed it. This story means a lot to me and to share it and receive such wonderful reviews means a lot. I'm glad I tied it all up, I keep expecting someone to call me on something, lol. It is sad, I know, but there is that bit of hope at the end, yes? Thanks again for reading this story and for all your great reviews!! ~Gina :)
The victory was BITTER.
That's it, just bitter, not like dark chocolate at all, you witch! ^_^
anyway, my sound effects and ranting aside, still great chapter. you did warn us about character death and gruesomeness, right? gruesome, gruesome, gruesome, to kill the boy-who-lived!
oh, and nice melodrama from Ron, very in-character of him to rant at Dumby's grave, i think. *sigh and sniffle*
Author's Response: I'm on my lunch break reading your reviews and I thought to myself after chapter four - "She is just going to kill me after she reads the next bit!" LOL Yes, it is bitter, and I really thought hard about it turning out differently, but I could not in good conscience send Harry back to save someone without there being a consequence. *sigh* 'Tis sad, I know. Poor Ron, I am glad you found him in character. I wrote that last bit as a drabble, and pretty much built the chapter around it. Thanks so much for the reviews!! ~Gina :)
huh, okay, for once, i'll concede about Snape. ^_^
"With a sound like the shattering of a hundred glass orbs, a brilliant yellow light tore through the air toward Voldemort and hit him in the chest as he turned."
great imagery and stimulation, gina! a writer once said that in every story, 'a movie must be in rough cut'. you did well in that regard. i saw everything as if i was there in the final battle, though i wouldn't like it to be this gruesome. (denial queen)
Author's Response: Thanks for the compliments! This battle was a bear to write!! And I'm glad to hear you might just give Snape a break - I do think he will do something heroic for Harry in the last book, so we'll see in a few months! Thanks for continuing and for the great reviews!! ~Gina :)
oh that was a cute patronus for Ron, a terrier! nice idea!
*loses grin* those were a lot of curses for Hermione, i winced so much in this chapter.
Author's Response: Ron's Patronus is actually canon, I did my research. :D I'm glad you enjoyed this chapter, hard as it is to watch everyone fight such a difficult battle; it only gets worse, as you already know. Thanks for reading and leaving such nice reviews!! ~Gina :)
okay, Gina, here I am at last, so sorry for being late! to make up, i'll flood you with reviews for each chapter! ^_^
bollocks! it was funny! seems our professor McGonagall has a not-so-prissy side to her after all--interesting side humor, hehe.
and then, let me say what others might have already said and noticed long before me--you really do have a knack for Dumby, his argument with Harry here rang true and as annoying as in the 5th and 6th books, and I mean that as a compliment, you have to admit Dumbledore has this tendency to babble calmly when what you'd like is some panic for company and comfort. ;)
Author's Response: Thanks for coming back to finish the story, it's such an important story to me that I'm thrilled when someone reads it. I really appreciate all the reviews (even if I am responding out of order, lol) Thanks very much for the compliments on Dumbledore! I really enjoy writing him. My August challenge story was all about him, Portrait of a Lost Love, if you'd like to read more about him. I'm so glad you enjoyed this chapter, angsty!Harry and all. Hope you like the rest! Thanks for continuing with the story and for leaving such wonderful reviews!! ~Gina :)
to be honest, i initally wasnt thrilled but kept reading snce i new it wa short.
The first sign of brilliance was when i realized the way you had done the time trner thingy. it was amazing. i only realized that was going to happen at the last moment.
but the rel part that went BAMM!!! whe i read it was the last chapter.
It was amzing, fantastic, heart wrenching. it was so sad but when an author can mkae you feel sad for the characters, that when there's tallent.
but the part that really bugs me is that until right now i was sure Harry lives because A) harry dying would be stupid (ithought) and B) the homeric story ends with the character alive and having passed their test and C) it would seem like a cheap way to prevent sequels.
but when i rea tis i realized that harry dying can be super sad but also could really succceed. thank you so much for this fic! definitely going to my favorites.
Author's Response: Hi there, Your review made me giggle at first.=) I am so glad you kept reading, for whatever the reasons! I am thrilled you enjoyed it, it means a lot to me when people read this story because I worked truly hard on it. I know it's sad, I am glad you still liked it even with the tragic ending I've given Harry. Hopefully in a few months things will turn out a bit better for our hero, but it seems possible to me that he may not survive, and this story just wouldn't allow it. I really appreciate all your kind words and wonderful comments. Thanks again for reading this story and for the great review!! ~Gina :)
Amazing--I dread to think that DH may very well end this way, but your version was ...amazing.
Author's Response: I'm not sure if I want it to end with Harry's death either, although I'd be tickled if I even came close with some of the things in this version. ;) Thanks so much for reading this story, I really appreciate it. And thank you for leaving such a nice review!! ~Gina :)
No wonder this was in the Dark/Angsty category. At first, I was like...OK it is Dark/Angsty because a load of people died....So sad...
Author's Response: I really wasn't sure about the category myself, but D/A is not just about death, and doesn't always have to end badly. This one finished bittersweet. I hope you enjoyed it. I've enjoyed reading your reviews! Thanks so much for reading this story and leaving such nice notes on each chapter!! ~Gina :)
Harry is DEAD???!!! NOOOOOOO!!!!
Author's Response: I know, I know. *hands out tissues* But it's very possible, so just be prepared. ;) Hope you liked this chapter anyway. The next one wraps it up with a bit of a suprise. Thanks for reading and reviewing! ~Gina :)
Hm...i wonder who that strange man is. Very mysterious
Author's Response: Any ideas? You'll find out soon since the whole story is posted! I hope you like the twist - thanks again for reading and reviewing! ~Gina :)
Wow. Harry sure has messed things up. Excellent chapter
Author's Response: Thank you very much! I'm glad you like this chapter, writing a wizard's battle is exceptionally tricky! Thanks again for reading and reviewing! ~Gina :)
Man...how can Harry be so stupid and do something so risky!!!
Author's Response: Because again - that's what Harry does. =D He took unbelievable risks in going after the Stone, after Ginny, after Ron, after Sirius. He wants to save the people he loves. Besides, what fun is a HP adventure without a bit of risk? ;) Thanks for reading and reviewing! ~Gina :)
What is Harry up to??? He is hurt both physically and emotionally and he needs to talk w/ others...instead of running off
Author's Response: Ah, but isn't that what he does, sometimes? He isolates himself. Don't worry, he'll figure things out. ;) Thanks so much for reading this story and leaving a review!! ~Gina :)
That was so sad! I cried at the end! Keep writing!
Author's Response: Hi there! Thank you so much for the review, I'm so happy to get them for this story because this one is special to me. Yes, it's sad, I know! *hands out more kleenex* I hope you liked it anyway. ;) There won't be any more for this story, but I have written many other stories and would be thrilled if you read any of them. Thanks again for reading this one, and for leaving a review!! ~Gina :)
AHHH!Its sooo sad.
:( I got really really sad when Harry was saying goodbye to Ron.
Author's Response: I know, that's when I start to get choked up too!! Thank you so much for reading this story! I am thrilled to get reviews for this piece because I worked so hard on it and it is one of my favorites. I hope you liked it, even for all it's sadness. Thanks again for the review!! ~Gina :)
Oh wow that was so sad! You wrote it really well, i almost cried! (which would not have been good seeing as i am wearing lots of mascara!) it was a great idea and you really wrote it well! I loved the bit when harrys says 'mum, dad' its so sad, but kinda happy, harry gets to see his parents again!
Author's Response: Hi! Thanks so much for reading this story and leaving such a great review! I'm really glad you liked it, I know it's sad. The end leaves off with a bit of hope though - it's more more bittersweet than sad, in a way. It was tough writing it at times! Thanks so much for the wonderful review! ~Gina :)
Wow I cried through the whole story. It was really touching. I am still crying a few days later after reading it. That is incredible. I really enjoyed the whole story. You have some great potential. Keep up the great stories. I loved the way Harry came back to say goodbye to everyone and how the headmistress even cried. I love the ending on how he gave Ron a hug. I am looking forward to one of your other stories. Thank you for the tear jerker story. It was very emotional story. Thanks again.
Author's Response: Hi again! You are very welcome, I enjoyed writing this story and am so excited to share it with others. I'm thrilled you enjoyed it in spite of how sad it was. *hands out more Kleenex* My favorite part is when Ron gets to say goodbye as well. Thank you so much for reading this story, and for leaving such great reviews. I really appreciate your wonderful compliments!! ~Gina :)
That is such a sad story but happy at the same time. I really wish there was more to though. You have such great writing skills and an imagination. Keep up the good work.
Author's Response: Hi! Thanks for reading this story and leaving such a nice review! I know its sad, but I'm glad you saw the bit of hope at the end. As for there being more - it was only ever my intention to write the final battle, sorry! I of course have other stories you could read. ;) Thank you for the lovely comments, I really appreciate it! ~Gina :)
That was amazing. I'm still crying!! I just read all six at once, and wow, they were good. It was so sad, but when Harry saw his parents, I was so happy for him, I think I completely broke down. Great Job!!
Author's Response: Thank you so much for the great review! I'm starting to think I need to put a Kleenex warning on this story! ;) I'm so glad you liked it, I know its sad. I hope Harry survives JKR's final book, but I think its possible he won't. Thank you for reading this story, and for your wonderful review. I really appreciate it as this story has become very special to me! Thank you!! ~Gina :)
