Chapter: The First of Four

his was an excellent start to what I'm sure would be an amazing story, you've really got a way of setting the sceen. I particularly liked Severus explanation for liking the dark, it's bringing clarity and answers, so true. I felt so sorry for his dog, but glad he got away, shame he hadn't inflicted more damage on the 'monster' beforehand though. I'd hazard a guess at the other three 'monsters' as being the marauders, Voldemort and Dumbledore. The last might slightly surprise you, i just thought perhaps in Severus' eyes that Dumbledore did exercise great control over him. I'm adding this to my favourites in the hope that you'll continue it some day, but also because it will make for a fantastic oneshot in the meantime.

And, as far as the other three monsters go you're pretty much on target with the Marauders (the outside world) and Voldemort. The fourth one though hits a little closer to home. *winks*
