My God.... You did it. You made me feel sympathy for Lucius Malfoy, the single most evil and unsympathetic character in the Potterverse, and you did it so well you almost made me cry.
I think I've never read anything quite so fiercely sad and romantic all at once. It's a good story. You're stuck in this now, you know. I want to know what happens to Bill when Lucius dies. I swear, if you don't write it, I'll have to write it myself, with or without your permission. =P
Great work, however you may view it. You put real feelings into a man who cannot feel. You built onto Molly's character bneautifully. In the beginning, my first urge was to call her OOC, but I realised eventually that the Molly Prewett of Gryffindor was a somewhat different person than the Molly Weasley we meet in the books.
All in all, I think you did a wonderful job!
Author's Response: You have permission, because now I wonder how you're seeing this happen. I'm not sure, myself. I do have visions of a Malfoy Mansion full of Weasleys (including Ron and Draco in their own suite, of course.) So far an actual story hasn't materialized, though. Molly worried me -- but she's a rather impetuous redhead even when we know her, so I assumed if the mature version was that lively, her teen self must have been really something. Thanks for the review! I'm glad you found this special.
oh *chokes back a sob* that was so sweet...and so wonderfully written...I loved it...*sobs again* loved it! ^_^
Author's Response: Wow! *passes tissues* Thanks for the review!
lmao! you rock! MOLLY!!?!? thats to good...i enjoying so much..good job on this chapter ^_^
Author's Response: Thanks!
I know, I said that already. But I don't know how to like Lucius. Whether he is, or isn't, I'm with Lucius on this one, Bill is his son. :)
Author's Response: Hah! You read it after all! I'm not sure I can ever like Lucius, exactly, but he was interesting to write. There's more going on in there than just, "Let's see, how can I be particularly evil today?" I'm sure.
after reading this i managed to be pleased, disappointed, hopeful, and a little angry at molly and lucius. wonderful character development. i really enjoyed reading this story.
Author's Response: Even better! I'm glad Lucius and Molly affected your emotions for more than a "That's weird."
Author's Response: Thanks!
I didn't say it was a bad thing, I just see her with more depth now. Before I read it I never thought about her with anyone but Arthur. This story made me think of her not just as Ron's mother. And I'll re-read it on OWL to see how naughty you made her. ; )
Author's Response: Ah, I see. *laugh* Yes, at some point she wasn't Ron's mother. Thanks again!
Okay, maybe I can sympathize with Lucius a little. At first I thought this was a one-shot, then after seeing it on OWL with two chapters I checked here and it had six. I guess I didn't get emailed when it was updated. Anyway it does makes more sense reading the whole story. But now I won't be able to look at Molly the same way. I wonder what William would think if he were to find this out. Its amazing what happens when you read too much fan fiction.
Still a great story!
Author's Response: As for not looking at Molly the same way ever again -- come on, everyone was young and stupid once, even if only long enough to get a regrettable tattoo. It was fun to conjecture about what Molly might regret, and whether Lucius had ever been in love. I'm glad you found the rest of the story -- OWL is getting a somewhat naughtier version just because it can.
Author's Response: Yeah, pretty much. Thanks!
If he wants to see the chaos, he could always fake his own death. But poor Bill though. He might have a heart attack or somthing.
Author's Response: I suspect it's hard to fake death in Azkaban, but -- yes, his demise will certainly stir up the anthill. I suspect Bill's reaction will barely be a patch on Draco's, though. Or Harry's, for that matter.
what a touching, sad story. I find it hard to believe that Mr. Malfoy had anything resembeling a nice side, even harder to believe that he was attracted to and in love with Molly Weasley. How intereting how you have arranged for her to be prvided for through her first born son, who it appears to be a Malfoy bloodline. This story was incredably original and touching.
Author's Response: Thank you! I find it very difficult to write Lucius as a three-dimensional person, but this suggests I managed it at least a little. "Anything resembling a nice side" covers it pretty well -- mostly it is resemblance, not the real thing.
Author's Response: Thanks!
I shouldn't double-post, but you know what I like best about this chapter? The fact that if he wasn't so greedy he could probably keep her. But he's too concerned about making sure his own Daddy Dearest won't write him out of the Malfoy fortune to take charge of his life. Oooh, divine justice or something like that. Karmic smackdown.
Author's Response: Well, maybe -- but then he wouldn't be Lucius, either. There needed to be a sort of mismatch of priorities here, and besides, how would Lucius himself react to a miniature Arthur in his nest? Not well, I'm thinking. Thanks for reviewing some more!
Awww...I loved your ending. I can't believe she went to see him.
But I was surprised that Bill turned out to be his son. I thought he had the legendary Weasley red hair. Anyway, I bet the reading of Lucius' will would make for another very interesting tale. ;)
Author's Response: Well, it might be the Prewitt red hair. Or Lucius might be deluding himself and Molly doesn't feel up to arguing. Or... But yes, that will would indeed make an interesting tale! Thanks for reviewing!
Author's Response: Thanks! *passes tissues*
this story was great!!!!
but i'm confused who's molly who's
Author's Response: Same person in body -- Molly is the practical side, Malinda is smitten and wild. Every girl has to try out the bad side of her personality for a bit, doesn't she? Thanks for reviewing!
Ouch, I new this would end with Bill.
Author's Response: Aw, darn, someone saw my evil scheme in advance. *snaps fingers* Thanks for reviewing!
good. she wins, he is a cruel perrson now, in harrys sixth year.
Author's Response: Yeah, she got the good guy, didn't she? Thanks for reviewing!
good, like it. does he get her in the end? i can't wait.
Author's Response: Yes and no, no? Thanks for reviewing!
i bet it is molly, right? molly weasley. cool pairing, nice portrayel of lucius.
Author's Response: Thank you!
