Aww, that was nice, in a sad kind of way. I mean, seriously, how would they react if he just like came up to them and apologised in one of the earlier books? If I was Draco I'd have a lot to regret too.

Chapter: The Train Ride

I adore all the comparisons through-out this. It has that Iím-jealous-of-what-you-have-but-I-would-never-admit-it feeling. (I think Iím a hyphen addict)

No one really knew where Draco's loyalties lied.

This should be laid...I think. Iíve never been too good at keeping lay and lie straight, but since the action is being directed towards loyalties, I think itís laid. Key word being think.

Wasn't it Father who said that only Mudbloods should be servants? Draco reasoned.

I really like the characterization in this line. In such a simple sentence we get a really good glimpse of how Dracoís emotions have evolved towards his dad. Since he doesnít want to become a Death Eater, he has to justify himself. Even when thereís no one but himself to justify himself to. Itís a nice change from the normal self-assured Draco, and you did it without making him seem even the tiniest bit out of character. Amazing!

Ministry Officials, including Arthur Weasley, had flooded into Diagon Alley, making sure that the elder of the Malfoy's went to Azkaban, for good.

Arthur too? This leaves me a bit confused sense Arthur works in the Office for the Detection and Confiscation of Counterfeit Defensive Spells and Protective Objects. I think if you went into more detail over it, you could make it work properly, though. Itís just not in canon as it stands.

It should be Ďthe elders of the Malfoys went to Azkaban,í since Iím assuming both Lucius and Narcissa went.

He recalled how his father had always told, almost pushed Draco into believing that he should follow in his mighty steps, becoming a Death Eater and ever faithful servant to the Dark Lord.

When I first read this sentence, it confused me and I thought it might be a run-on. As Iím re-reading it though, I think spell check fixed things that shouldnít have been fixed. I think you meant Ďalways told, always pushedí and then later in the sentence, Ďbecoming a Death Eater, an ever faithfulí. If Iím completely off though, just ignore me. =]

Even though the Malfoys never give up, and always get what they want, this was the exception.

Again, I love Dracoís characterization. He goes through so much trouble to justify what he wants, or to make something seem unplausible, that it only shows how he really feels about something. Also, I just like how this sentence is worded.

Oh, yeah. One small nit-pick since Iím going on a hyphen frenzy. When talking about the memories and what year Hermione was in at the time, it should be third-year and fourth-year.

Overall, I think itís amazing how easily you can justify Dracoís feelings towards Hermione. Wonderful fanfic.

Author's Response: Thank you so much for yet another amazing review. I can't believe I made that many mistakes! *slaps self* Well, about Arthur, I just wanted it to be known that Aurther Weasley was there, and knew about it. Henceforth letting us realize that Ron, Harry, and Hermione must have also known about his father's imprisonment. That was really all I was trying to get at. Thanks so much for the review, and the help!

I LOVED THIS!!! You showed Draco very well.

*OotP trailer just came on tv, kinda lost my train of thought, now where was I?...Oh, yes*

I thought that he was very in character. This was my favorite line:

He recalled how his father had always told, almost pushed Draco into believing that he should follow in his mighty steps...

I have the same views on Draco! Your descriptions are amazing, wonderful, and beautiful. You are a truly brilliant author! I'm waiting for the sequel! *off to read your other fics* sorry for the long review

Author's Response: OotP! *dies* *can't wait*

Anyways! Thanks so much! AH! Sequel! I cannot believe I still haven't done that. I am such a procrastinator. *dies*

*sigh*

I loved it - I thought the descriptive wording was beautifully done and not overdone. It made it very believable. My favorite passage is this one:

"Taking in calming, cleansing breaths he put on his face of no emotion. He put on his old mask of madness and hatred, which really covered up loneliness and regret of the worst kind. He twisted his face into a sneer and placed the best 'Malfoy look' he could upon his features. Slowly, he stood. The train was becoming increasingly slower, the landscape outside becoming clearer. They were close to King's Cross."

It sums up Draco's entire being. Tortured and lonely, but hiding it all behind a mask of arrogance and disdain. Brilliant!

Well done!

Excellent story! Nice portrayal of Draco. Very realistic, even when you talked about what he felt for Hermione, you made it believable. Very nice work for a first fic.

how do you put pitchers on your arthers page

Author's Response: Uhm, excuse me? lol. Well.. you have to use an HTML code.. like so:

<*img src="link to image here">

Except, with no star in the beginning. The link to your image can be reached as so: 1) Left click the image, and click properties. 2) On the screen that pops up, copy the web adress from where it says "URL". Paste that address in the HTML code!

Now, this really isn't the place for this, but... yeah. Hopefully, no consequences come from this! Good luck!

That was truly beautiful, and so sad! I loved it, it was perfect, of course I could nit pick the itty bitty things but I wont beacuse the good things override that, by far. I have no critique what so ever. Id like to be helpful, but that was just plain *awesome*.
