This is not a fluff piece, you have nailed the emotional turmoil of all those who have ever left their love to fight in a war.
A great story be it fiction or not is defined by it's realism, As a published writer and a holder of two silver stars for gallantry in action i assure you that you have captured the emotions we all felt when leaving to face our fate. Bravo!
