Chapter: A night at the Owlery...

wow. That was really good. Never thought I would read anything from an owls point of view and like it. Guess I was wrong.

Author's Response: Greetings =)

Hey, thank you very much! You know, this has always been my 'weak point' so to speak. Thing is that I was never sure that people would like it. Strange thing, it won the second place in that challenge O.o

But the reviews have been really heart-warming, and that's really what counts for me.

Thank you for taking the time to review, even if it took me ages to answer :o

Wow, excellent fic. I also never thought I'd enjoy reading something from an Owl's POV, but I enjoyed this tory immensely. Your story narration by the Owl was very nice. I felt that there was alot of 'perosonality' conveyed through the telling of Glar's story...you really characterized him(and all the other owls) very nicely.

I also really enjoyed the whole owl meeting aspect as well. One of my favourite moments is when they ask him if the other young man is anyone's Master and he reveals that it was Draco.

The names were cool also, and it was very well-written. Thanks for a great read!

Author's Response: *headdesk* I'm truly sorry for the very long time it took me to respond to your review. I had such a limited internet time/connection, and so many important things to do in RL that I could hardly check my email once every 2-5 days O.o

I'm glad that you liked :) I remember having some trouble to decide which moment I would pick and how I'd develop it. This idea suddenly popped into my mind, and I decided it was worth a shot.

Well, there are some spelling mistakes and grammar mistakes I just noticed >.> But I'm glad that you decided to not put any attention to them :) It's great to know that you liked it, and thank you very much for allowing me have a prize, even though when I was only a runner-up :D

Alway fun to consider life from a view different from the human view! Have to admit that Cheshlin's cats are my favorites, but then I am biased!!! She is my sister! 8)

Author's Response: It's a challenge (at least for me) to put yourself on the shoes (?) of an animal, because you need to have some background on each one or something for it to work.

Well, I don't blame you, Cheslin's story is incredible :) She's got a quite original idea, and I know she will do a great job with it! Oh, and you are her sister? Well, I'm more than glad to see you here, too :D

This was a nice story. I like how some of the owls kept trying to disagree with his story, but most of them believed. That was very interesting how you portrayed they way the seemed to hold council. I think it was a great story.

Author's Response: Thank you very much, Cheslin :) Given that you have a whole lot more of experience when working on animal characters, I truly appreciate your words :D I really have no idea why I wrote it this way. I just remember that the idea entered my mind and wouldn't leave room for anything else :) Thanks for reviewing, Cheslin :D

Firstly, good choice in telling the story as a story-- you know, not just as it's happening. It was a lot more effective and interesting because there was commentary from the owls.

Just a bit of nit-picking :) i hope you don't mind.

We know that Professor Trelawney had been at Hogwarts for 16 years while "the greasy haired man" :) had only been tteaching for 13. And i'm sure many of the teachers have been there longer--including Dumbledore.

I like your idea that owls don't completely understand wizards--or maybe they just don't care-- but if they recognize wizards, spells, and magic, then they probably know enough to call wands wands, not wooden sticks. And if they didn't, the owls would probably just call them sticks--wood being implied.

I enjoyed your story; the pov was original, and the inclusion of Fawkes at the end was meaningful and cool to see.

Now get some courage and post that story!

Author's Response: The idea of making it a story just came to me naturally. I wrote this story the night the challenge was ending :) The problem is that I had just got sorted, so I had scarce time to write the story.

Ah, nit-picking is always good!

Gah, I see what you mean. Yes, I just checked it... what I mean was: 'he was one of those of longest stay in the castle'. Hmm... it wasn't clear enough :/ I'll try to rephrase it :)

I think you are very right in this point. That's something I did not see :I I will also change 'wooden sticks' to 'wands'. :)

The end... well, I really don't know where it came from. I was just typing, and it appeared. I was very happy from the moment I wrote it :) Ah, yes, I will submit it in this week! I can't procrastinate it any more!

Author's Response: Oh, I almost forgot. Thank you for reviewing :D!!!!

wow. That was a unique point of view...

I like how you gave each owl, even the ones that already hae names, new names to the owls. Very nice :D.

So, this was a challenge? I personally think you should win, I'm sure every one will agree with me ;)

10/10,
Lisa xxx

Author's Response: Hey lisa :) Heheh, I hope everyone agrees with you, but I don't know if they will ;) Yes, I thought I would give them new names because I don't really followh the idea of owls understanding humans. I believe they get an aproximate idea of what they are saying, but not as much as understanding words :) Ah, Lisa, I have procrastinated for far too long my chaptered fic. It's time for me to start the journey, although I'm afraid :x I'm afraid of falling short to the expectatives of the story O_o Anyway, as I said, I'll gather the courage in this week hopefully...!

It was really good! I never thought I would be interested in the stories of the owls, but it was very good!

Author's Response: Thank you Narwen3 :) It was the same with me. I didn't know I would enjoy writing about owls, heh.
