Chapter: Chapter 1: The Calm

Correct. I momentarily forgot Harry had sent him to Hogwart's. Thanks for reminding me.

Author's Response: No prob. :)

Chapter: Chapter 19: Be Careful What You Seek

Now that would be very scary. To find Voldemort's body in James' grave? And why did Voldemort have a ring? We'll find the answers sometime soon.

Author's Response: Yeah, well, the cadaver had to go somewhere, didn't it? That always kinda bugged me about Canon--if Voldy dropped dead and the house was destroyed around him, how were his wand and signet ring (of Salazar Slytherin) recovered? Even if he wasn't wearing the signet ring, he surely had his wand with him at the time of the catastrophe. So why didn't the authorities confiscate it? Plus, no one ever talks about the body, or his grave, or whatever. Something had to happen behind the scenes here.

Following the trail.

Author's Response: LOL, exactly. The Firefly trail.

Chapter: Chapter 17: The Killing Curse

ROTFLMAO on that last sentence!
I can't believe Harry needs to become a killer to get rid of Voldemort. Guess that part of me is too entrenched in Dumbledore's version of the world.

Author's Response: Yah, quite an unhappy surprise for Ron at this juncture. Well, the prophecy sure implies that Harry needs to do some murdering at some point, so that's what I banked on... of course, things aren't always what they seem...

Chapter: Chapter 16: Untangling the Web

I do find it rather amazing that no one at #12 noticed Kreacher was dead and failed to mention it to Harry. There were people living and/or staying there during the summer. Not part of your story, just find it odd. Wonder who (Snape?) managed to get to the attic and go through the boxes? Or maybe our new DADA teacher? Possibilities are many.

Author's Response: Kreacher's not at #12 anymore, though--he was assigned, during HBP, to work at Hogwarts, where he's one of many house elves. No one would be likely to notice his death, particularly if the other elves didn't mention it. And their culture is such that they probably wouldn't want to bother their master with details like "so and so died." They'd just go on doing the work.

Chapter: Chapter 15: Mysteries Afloat

I don't know where this is going, but it sure is fun following it. I've been laughing constantly through almost every chapter. Ondossi is such a unique character, obnoxious, funny, bizarre, flaky, etc. And none of them are constant even withing a chapter. I sort of like her, but since I've never been considered any kind of normal, I like all kinds of people others don't, and dislike many they consider okay.

Author's Response: She's a little bit insane, from her constant exposure to the thoughts of others. The one consistency with her is that she switches moods as if she had a remote control.

Chapter: Chapter 14: Shadows of the Past

What a great way to cover the missing 24 hrs. Definitely not close to canon, but this is fan fiction and is supposed to be the way the writer would imagine it.

Author's Response: Did Canon even cover the missing 24? I never found any attempt to explain it.

Chapter: Chapter 13: Aye, of N.E.W.T.

Truly amazing. The "new" Hogwarts is going to be a very interesting place. Cross-house Quidditch, shared tables, and for all intents and purposes shared House's and students. I love the concept. I had to read a couple chapters to decide what I actually thought. And now onto Hagrid's tale.

Author's Response: Well, I like to think that wisdom might create change--and it sure seems like segregating the Houses has done nothing but create prejudice and trouble in the Wizard world. Minerva is a tough gal. She has the guts to make this happen, even if it Breaks With Tradition.

Chapter: Chapter 12: Summer's End

Okay, I figured Voldemort would have tried to get her on his side. But being kissed by him would make me lose whatever I had eaten for the last week, lol. Revolting is another word that comes to mind. Double yuck!

Author's Response: It's worse than you think. He's really playing some mind games with her. You'll learn more later.

Oh, there's no chance I won't finish this one, it's much too fun. I'm a Tolkien fan also, so maybe it's the combination of styles that's keeping me confused.

Author's Response: Ahh... did you catch the secret tolkienian references in chapter 6?

Yuck! I actually prefer the idea of being branded with the Mark.

Not if he uses a method similar to the one he used in DH. 'Course I think you wrote this before DH came out if I read the summary correctly

Author's Response: 80% of this story was written before DH even came out, and then I waited until I had all but one or two chapters done to read DH. So no, there's no elder wand or bizarre pseudo-death experience in THIS story. ;)

Chapter: Chapter 11: Aftermath

Okay, I'm hooked, but I 'm still not sure where this is going. I mean, I know how it will end as far as Voldemort is concerned, he'll be deader than a doornail, but how we're going to get there, adventure is adventure.

Author's Response: Well, yeah! If you could already predict the adventure, what fun would there be in reading it? I'm a big fan of cliffies, sudden plot twists, and people with secrets, so consider yourself warned--not everyone is all they seem, even characters you might think you know well. Plus, I'm NOT into foreshadowing, or at least blatant foreshadowing. So relax, read and absorb, and don't try to predict. It'll all come together in the end. :)

Chapter: Chapter 10: Santa's Little Helper

More and more curious. I'm trying to keep up, but it's hard.

Author's Response: Well, I AM a big JRR Tolkien fan, so I kinda gravitated to a more challenging story, but I think it's not TOO hard. I hope you'll ride it out. :)

Chapter: Chapter 9: Back To Business

Remus has always been my hero. Though I still want to be Sirius when I grow up. Professor Ondossi is going to be an interesting addition. I am finding it very hard to believe that any version of Dumbledore would want Harry to master the Avada Kedavra curse.

Author's Response: Well, if he's to kill Voldy, he'd pretty much have to, wouldn't he?

Chapter: Chapter 8: For Worse

Snape makes some very interesting observations, and Draco, thankfully, is too scared to realize what was almost said or impllied. It was Nagini who bit Draco wasn't it?

Author's Response: No, actually, it was Voldy himself. I envision that Voldy puts the Dark Mark on his people by biting them, with the injected "venom" being a potion that creates the Mark. Since he intended to kill Draco, he bit his throat, vampire style, just to make Lucius even more miserable.

Chapter: Chapter 7: For Better

I loved the wedding and what Fawkes did for both Harry and Bill. This is an amazing adventure. One of the best AU's of 7th year I've read so far. I can't wait to read more. I have no clue where Harry and Ginny are headed in this one, but it should be interesting.

Author's Response: Interesting... well, that's always in the eye of the beholder, but I think it is!

Amazing! I'm a lover of history and this is history at it's finest. Learning the legend of Fawkes? What more could one ask.

Chapter: Chapter 5: Godric's Hollow

What a wonderful part of the story. I like the way you've woven the two worlds together in Godric's Hollow. Can't wait to see where finding the book is going to take them. I'm so glad I found this story after you'd finished it.

Author's Response: Well, my big complaint with the HP series is that we never found out what happened during those missing 24 hours between the destruction at Godric's Hollow and Hagrid arriving the next night at Privet Drive. So this story gives my version of events.
