Remus is so patient and sensible. I chuckled at the beer bottles hitting the fireplace. I also had visions of dishes getting smashed. And Tonksie? I had to laugh again as Uncle Dungie described the ghost in the graveyard giving advice on how to dig holes. Finally, the vision of Remus and Tonks waiting outside of Emmeline's house in the bushes was too much. Once again, Remus was acting the professor and making a list while Tonks was planning a snog:) Great chapter.
Remus could be the first werewolf saint. :D
I feel Dungie's pain. Nobody likes know-it-all ghosts, heh.
So this time Tonks fooled Evan (maybe) but not Tom. When you think about it, she really takes chances with what she does. She can't possibly know everything about everybody and there's always those little clues that give someone away. I remember running into someone I hadn't seen for about 35 years and I don't look like I did back then, but they looked me in the eye and recognized me right away. Kind of freaky. I was kind of worried about the veritaserum--I didn't know you could fight against its effects. Great chapter.
Fooling Evan was symbolic...he doesn't know her like he used to! :D
They? Or "He" who used to gaze deeply into your eyes and would therefore know you anywhere, anytime, any hairstyle or lack of makeup, heehee.
You can fight an Imperius, why not the effects of Veritaserum? :D
No, I did not miss Evan. I didn't expect to see him. I was so busy outright laughing during this chapter. I think I laughed the most when Tonks discovered that there were wards on her room. Damn, why didn't I do that with my son:D Oh no, I just remembered that Evan can recognize Tonks. And what is Tom up to? Why can't men behave themselves, except Remus of course. That's why I keep dogs. At least, they're loyal. Excellent chapter--for making me laugh so much.
Thank you for having a fabulous sense of humor! :D
It's probably a good thing I can't work magic. I'd do a lot of "act in haste" heh.
That was wonderful. I chuckled through the chapter. Tonks is such a great drunk and Remus is such a gentleman. I love that he put up with her in good humor. Some men wouldn't do that and now I'm wondering why. My favorite line was "I have the slight suspicion that I'm plastered." This was very entertaining. Excellent chapter.
Author's Response: Men who don't react with good humor aren't gentleman...and they're probably thinking with their wand, so to speak. :D Thank you for liking that line!
Yeah, last chapter I thought it was Fleur till he muttered about Lizet. I figured they'd just been dating or something, which was kind of confusing but would still make sense with Fleur eying Bill approvingly later on in GOF, because maybe that's just how she looks at her boyfriend. Still, Lizet made even more sense, so I'm glad you used her instead.
God fucking damn you Kerichi! (and I promise, I mean that in the most endearing way possible. XD) How DARE you make me like Evan Rosier?! Grr....
Hahha. I think Evan may just be the TEENIEST bit jealous that they're holding hands....
Already love the visit to Hestia's :) Keep on writing...just in general...and I'll keep reading here!
This is pre-Fleur. Fleur is the ultimate French goddess...part Veela! :D
Thank you for liking Evan! He isn't all bad boy. Just mostly. ;)
AHAHAHA! The lunch "date" was fantastic. Bill's conversation was so funny! "Wait until tonight." "Dad!" "That ees because you have a dirty mind, you naughty boy." HahahA! Loved it. :)
"I'll see you later, Granny." Ah-ha-ha!
Author's Response: Thank you for laughing! :D
Ooh, yerse, and I forgot to mention that I was happy the other day when I finally figured out what "wards" meant. I was imagining invisible infra-red beams and ear-splitting alarms. This was more fun :)
Author's Response: The Mission Impossible scene with Tom Cruise hanging over the infra-red beams was pretty cool, :D, but I agree, spells are better. ;)
Aww! Dinner at the Connolleys was totally awesome. Alex loved! ^o^ Anne's a witch, the kind spelled with a b, and I'd like to witch-slap her into next century. Hooray for deluded assholes!
Remus RULES. The day he really does get her 'drunk and naked,' as Tonksie so affectionately put it, it'll be a very happy day indeed. ....sort of. Because that sounded more like rape than anything else. I just meant the clothes-falling-off-part XD
I knew what you meant. :D
I absolutely LOVE Tonks/Remus. Completely and utterly BRILLIANT story! And I'm SO looking forward to diner with Mrs. Connolly! Teheehhe!
Author's Response: Thank you! Mrs. C is wickedly conniving, :D
o_O They're talking about Julia, right? Ohcrapohcrapohcrapohcrap.
The whole bushes ordeal was super-fun!! I look forward to her listing his god qualities at an "appropriate time." ....In fact, I've already got an image in my head. But knowing you, it'll be at a better time, in a better place, and as always, exactly right. Yay!
Author's Response: This story is them working toward that moment, along with the other plot points, heh.
Oh that IS a good reason. For a moment I feared that Tom really had been cheating on her, and was thinking 'Oh no! This would go against every canon you believe in!' so this is really working much better for me. Thank you for the perfect chapter, amazing to the detail. The diner was spectacular; Tom's intuition was wonderful; Evan's cluelessness was something I'd been waiting a very long time for; and everything was just fantastic!
Author's Response: Evan is the past, Remus is the present and future...if Tonks can just work out a few personal issues.... ;)
I loved their little brunch thing at the parents' house, and the little episode in her room. Oh Evan! Will he see through her again? Perhaps not, seeing as she isn't using an L name (XD) but maybe Tom's suspicion will trigger his own, and Evan's ever-present and astonishing ability to deduce the impossible will close upon us again. Oh hooray! I love the drama enclosed.
Author's Response: Evan in this story (aside from being actually useful for a change, :D) shows that Tonks has moved on from the past. He doesn't know her like he used to!
The poems-at-the-bar was grr--eat! And I'm assuming Tonks's poem was Playing with Fire? If not, I'm excited to actually finish the chapter and find out ^_^ The whole wow-rock-way-to-fail-at-gently-tapping-his-window-thing made me laugh. Maybe it's just late. Whatever. You're still this kick-ass writer. Whom I love at really any time of day.
Ah shizz-nip. Remus hates it doesn't he? He doesn't want her to sing? Why not? I thought the bastard loved her! Why isn't he wanting her to be singing? Ahhh! He just is worried about the whole pub thing, right? Thinks she's all drunk and stuff? Wonky shoes my ass...she's plastered.
Ooh look, yes she is
The love is mutual. :D
Yes, Remus is just concerned for her, and would rather have her declare her love in person, not on a table in a bar. ;)
Teddy... Hm, where have I heard that name before? Bizzare coincidence!
I love weddings - real and fictional! *sends love to Lora and Gerald*
Do we see more of Sendak in future fics? I forget... *has Bubbles moment* I think he's one of my favourite characters, lol...
Author's Response: Thank you for liking Sendak! I haven't found a way to work him into the storyline again, but that doesn't mean he won't be seen again. :) As for Teddy, I wish Jo would've thought like me and kept them alive to raise him! Sigh. Oh well, at least in my dimension of the Potterverse they will!
Oh, yeah, I missed Evan. I was wondering when he'd turn up.
Author's Response: Thank you for missing Evan! I'm missing him in the HBP story and wondering how I can give him a cameo. :D
You've never seen Johnny English? Why on Earht not? 'Tis a great film! And, funnily enough, stars Rowan Atkinson - odd coincidence...
OMG I haven't seen Blackadder for aaages! It's an awesome show! Baldrick rocks!
Author's Response: I was turned off by bad reviews, lol. I'd love to put a Baldrick character in my stories, heh.
Ooh, I've just realised who Jerry reminds me of; Boff, from Johnny English (good film, that - a nine year olds Austin Powers)! Loyal, good-hearted, very competent, a good sense of honour... And a little bit naive. XD
PS. Jack called - he wants his compass back! :(
Author's Response: I love Blackadder, but I've never seen Johnny English! There's an actor named Jerry O'Connell that inspired Jerry's characterization. I'd say 'Poor Jack' but I feel much sorrier for Will!
Kill Julia? Never! Robin Tonks and her Merry... Werewolf-partner, Animagus-cousin and other miscellaneous misfits... will not allow it!
Hm... This has got me thinking... How do your OC's fit into the Battle of Hogwarts, and DH in general? Will they all make it through?
Ooh, I'd never even considered that they might not... Of course they can all make it through, can't they...? :(
Author's Response: Exactly! :)
The OC's aren't part of the Order of the Phoenix, so they won't show up at the battle. I actually plan to end the DH fic well before that, so it has a happy ending. Only in the 'after', AU story will Tonks have to deal with the guilt she feels for leaving Teddy.
I kinda missed Evan - you know that the party's really beginning when he shows up! ;)
Lol, just been looking at old review responses:
1. Giggling at the "classic" music. I'm pretty eclectic, but I don't tend to listen to anything from before the 90's. Still, each to their own... (though I can totally see Tonks loving a bit of Mika! ;v) )
2. As for Beta-ing, I may take you up on that one-shot offer one day. I think I can see a few potential "alternative perspectives" to my current story! Well, we'll see...
Author's Response: All music is fabulous. You just need the right songs from the right eras! :D Evan's like Draco, a snarky Slytherin I'll always have a soft spot for. ^_~
i kinda agree that i missed evan, but he does always seem to bring tonks and remus together unintentionally. i hope that tom isnt cheating on julia because they seem like a really nice and genuine couple.
Author's Response: If nothing else, Evan makes Tonks realize how lucky she is to have Remus, but he's actually useful this story, LOL. As for Tom, read on and you'll see! ^_~
