Chapter: Prologue

Thanks for the adventure, friend. I will miss opening my email to see another delightful update for Halfway to Infinity. You have a gift with storytelling and words. I (and many others, I think) would love to read more of your work. Once again, excellent story (superb ending, btw) and stay well.

Chapter: Chapter Seventy-Six: Lottie’s Last Stand

This is probably the second most phenomenal story I have read on this website... I really admire how you were able to show Lottie growing up and changing but still staying true to her character. And the way you were able to tie in the extraordinary talent Lottie had for occ/leg in how she killed Voldemort was... Wow. I just didn't expect it. Can't wait to read the epilogue. :)

Author's Response: Thanks so much! Knowing how many awesome stories there are on this site, that means a lot to me!

AWESOME!!!! Great writing mate! That was amazing! I love the way you described Voldemort's death. What does Lottie 'cousin of Harry Potter' Rowe do next????

Author's Response: Thanks! Well, you'll see a bit in the epilogue, but after that the story is left in your imagination.

Some how I new from the moment you said,"She was the dest in Oclumency" it would end like this. Such bitter sweet of an end but, some how souting. In a way I think Lottie lives to have children coming so close to death I hardly think Lottie is a person who'll want to die soon again. Loved it:D

Author's Response: Good prediction! Yes, Occlumency had to be important in the end; it's really the thread that kept the entire story together.

Chapter: Chapter Seventy-Six: Lottie’s Last Stand

1st of all your dedication was really sweet, I definity agree that Jo has changed the lives of all her fans :) Now for the story, I really like how you chose to kill Voldemort in the 1 way that Harry tried but failed - remorse. It was so cool that she was able to use her beast occulency/legimency to force him to feel remorse for a second. It was a very interesting way for him to die. At the same time I really liked how this chapter showed what her mastery of occ/leg has done to her. She can do anything without feeling because she is so good at shutting away all emotion - I wonder how that's going to affect her in the epilogue...

Author's Response: That's an interesting thought; you'll definitely see the aftermath of her shutting away emotions in the epilogue.

Nice way to kill Voldy although I don't get how she put other peoples emotions into his mind. And what I meant in my last review was ho come when Voldemort killed Harry, Harry didn't go to the limbo place and come back again

Author's Response: Legilimency can be used to manipulate other people's thoughts and emotions. Voldemort did, after all, make up a scene to put in Harry's mind in OotP. I sort of expanded upon that idea in my own world, making it possible to manipulate and exaggerate somebody's feelings; Snape did it to Lottie a few times in earlier chapters.

Oh, I see. Harry did go to the limbo place, but instead of choosing to come back as he did in the books, he chose to "get on a train," as Dumbledore called it. The AU conceit I'm using in this story is that Harry made that choice.

Chapter: Chapter Seventy-Six: Lottie’s Last Stand

i did not expect voldie's manner of death - who would've thought that his tiny bit of remorse would torture and kill him more efficiently than avada kedavra? awesome.

it makes me sad how unfeeling lottie has become though. i know colm has done great harm, but he was sobbing over lottie's death moments before she kills him. i know that lottie can't do her job properly if she feels too much, but it seems sad anyway.

a bittersweet chapter, but i'll admit that this ending is very fitting. good job~!

Author's Response: I agree--it really is tragic what Lottie has become in order to get this job done. At this point, she's almost as unfeeling as Voldemort was.

Chapter: Chapter Seventy-Five: The Camp Again

I honestly did not suspect that Colm was the traitor! I probably should have guessed, since he fit all the clues, but since he seemed to care so much about Lottie, I didn't think he could be evil. Also, i think it was really cool how you slipped Harry in. The conversation between them was interesting, and Harry seemed to be in character, except for the choice he said he made. However, I realize that was completely necessary for the story.

Author's Response: Thanks! Yeah, that's pretty much where I took my alternate universe liberties, with him making that choice, but I'm glad everything else seemed in character!

I new it I new it :D Lottie made the choice Harry did not. In the chapter Voldemort said A. K. I said she's not dead yet. Sweet. I Loved this we actually "saw" HARRY:D I can't wait for the next chapter yet I don't want it to end.

Author's Response: Haha thanks! I loved giving Harry a little cameo.

Chapter: Chapter Seventy-Five: The Camp Again

ok don't take this the wrong way, i really like this story and i know its AU but i didn't like the fact that harry is dead because he made the choice to move on instead of coming back. again i totally get how this makes perfect sense with the story and i'm glad lottie is making the right choice, but i kinda wish harry had died some other way (i know that sounds awful but its so not him to make the easier decision instead of the right one) update soon, i can't believe the story's almost over!

Author's Response: That's fair. The conceit of this story relies on Harry making a huge mistake, one that he probably wouldn't make in canon; one of his best qualities in canon is that he wouldn't make this mistake, but that is something I decided to change.

Evil cliffhanger making person

oh and its confusing how harry dies yet he came to this place. You'd think he'd keep coming back and leaving again.

Author's Response: Ahahaha sorry!

I'm not entirely sure what you mean. Harry met Lottie at her limbo-place, just as Dumbledore met Harry at his.

Chapter: Chapter Seventy-Four: The Traitor’s Regret

I don't think any hints are required really. You could give like a really good description and then say he was under polyjuice potion or something. Oh, and if you're going to do another story it would be really nice if you posted it online and put a link here because you're a really good writer

Author's Response: Hm... Maybe. I tend to get frustrated when there's a big reveal in a story and it comes from absolutely nowhere; that's what I love about JKR's work--is that when there's a big twist, you look back and can't imagine how you missed it. It's a fine line to straddle.

When I finish this new story, I'm probably going to try to whip it into shape and take it to publishers. If anything comes of that, (aka my dream come true!) I'll definitely let readers here know!

Chapter: Chapter Seventy-Four: The Traitor’s Regret

To obvious

You gave away that it was Colm when you killed Maelioric off. It would've been nicer if you'd gone into his motives for becoming a death eater a bit more. Oh and is Colm going to save Lottie and then have a really soppy romantic ending or will Colm turn against Voldy and die while Lottie gets her wand and kills Voldy. It would've been nicer if the traitor had been more unexpected or there was two of them or some surprise twist like that.

Still it's too late now

Author's Response: Whew. When I was planning this five years ago, I had no idea what close readers everybody would be, but I certainly learned my lesson. I wanted the Maelioric chapter to be a hint, but since it was apparently a bit too clear beforehand, it was just a dead giveaway. Next time I write in a twist (which will probably not be fan fiction, so I guess it won't be on this website) I'll definitely be subtler. I want jaws to drop!

I would keep reading, though, because there might be a couple of surprises left!
