This was good, but very sad. I liked the whole thing with the Mirror of Erised.

Hello.

I just happened to come across this story, and while I'm not normally a fan of Remus/Sirius, I thought you did a good job on the writing nonetheless.

There were a few minor typo-type things -- all he see was fog should be "all he saw was fog" and things like that. Really, though, nothing major.

Also, a few times in seemed like there were a lot of repeating the names of Sirius and Remus, and a bit of that seemed strained and unnatural. Something you might consider would be using a few more things like "he," rather than have "Sirius" been said every few words.

Other than that and like I said earlier, I thought the story was nice, though short. My favourite part would have to be how you incorporated the mirror, especially with how Sirius's picture faded over time, etc. It was really nice.

I also really loved the very last lines, where you added to the mirror's lines.

"Erised stra ehru oyt ube cafru oyton wohsi

Sum erd nasu iris"

"I show not your face by your heart's desire

Sirius and Remus"

Like I said, perfect ending!

~Megan

Author's Response: Haha, I'm not really a fan of Remus/Sirius either but I wanted to write something based on the myth and that pairing really fit. Thanks for noticing those typos! The one you picked out happened to be from a rather recent revision so I'm especially happy that you caught that one. It's really hard as an author to substitute he for the character names when you're dealing with two males. Thanks, though, for pointing that out, I'll probably end up going back to find that stuff. I'm glad you enjoyed the ending and the incorporation of the mirror! Thanks so much for such a helpful and encouraging review!!

How interesting! Now, I'm not normally one for slash, but this one didn't have too much sexuality in it, so I read it.

I'm glad I did! I love the way the mirror from the Narcissus and Echo myth was the Mirror of Erised. I always wondered how it would be possible for someone to fall in love with their own reflection and this explains it clearly.

The ending was perfectly tragic. I cried. I think that the wording and the flow of this story really pulled me in and made me feel for the characters.

Beautiful story. Quite tragic, like most Greek work (and in coincidence, their parallels).

I really enjoyed it. Thank you.

Kumy

Author's Response: I'm very happy that you enjoyed it! I find it loads of fun to write these parallels to ancient Greek myths, even though it makes me even less creative haha (characters, etc. from Harry Potter and plot from Greece). I'm touched that you were touched by my fic. Thanks so so much for your review! :-)

I really enjoyed your fic. The similarity to the myth is amazing. I really loved how you potrayed Remus and Sirius. It was very realistic how Remus followed Sirius to the Mirror, and it reminded me of how Echo followed Narcissus to the Fountain. I liked how you used the messge on the Mirror and then added the part about Sirius and Remus at the end. It was very clever.

Overall, it was written and didn't feel forced at all. Great job!

Author's Response: Thank you very much for your kind review. I'm glad that you enjoyed the message in the transitions and the similarities with the myth. I actually really like doing these little one-shots based on ancient Greek myths, and I have one titled "Persephone" pending right now (it's Draco/Hermione). Thanks again for the review!

that was captivating. i think part of what made it so beautifully sad was that after all the heartbreaking description of their love for one another, nothing came of it, when i was expecting it too. the twist really made it real for me, great story!

Author's Response: Thanks so much. I like to make stories with slightly downtrodden endings to make things more real. I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Very interesting story, very beautiful too. I allways wonderd if Sirius was to gorgous to love anyone but him self. Apparently not.

Author's Response: Hahaha well maybe we'll learn some more in the seventth book. Haha glad you liked it.

wow.

The most stunning, beautiful, realistic Slash fic I've ever read. The emotions painted brilliantly and the story dosen't alter cannon in the least.

Awesome.

Author's Response: Thank you so much for your enthusiastic review. I always try hard to keep things realistic, so I'm very happy that you thought it was in tune with canon.

i don't really like this pairing, but this was still a good (yet sad!!!!) story!

Author's Response: A lot of people have been saying that. Glad you enjoyed it!

Oh goodness, I was hoping to go to bed with some nice fluff to read but I unwittingly got this story. But while I'm opposed to most Angst (unless it involves anything with Ginny {let her suffer}) I liked this a lot. Sadly, I don't think I'm going to sleep tonight.

Author's Response: Aww, I'm so sorry to fuel your insomnia. Well, I love to read fluff, but I'm just not good at writing it. I like writing angst and drama better because it just seems more...intense to write and it's better to look back on. Haha, I hate Ginny pairings too! Sorry again, but I'm glad you enjoyed it.

Awww...
that was sooo sad!!! but unbelivably sweet. nice job.

Author's Response: Glad you liked it! I was considering adding an ending portion where Remus goes back to the mirror in the future and finally looks in it, but I got it all published on all the fanfiction sites before I was able to go through with editing it...

I swear, I almost cried at the end of this. The whole piece it's tastefully written, it's so beautiful and yet so sad. I guess life and love can be like that. My favorite lines were the ones from the last paragraph. Great job!

Author's Response: Yeah, I'm kind of into writing the whole sad-ending stories, because I just find that they seem more real. Of course, I'm not heartless enough to kill of Sirius without SOME reconcilliation of some sort, even if it was just in his mind. Thanks for such a great review!

Oh, that was quite depressing, but devestatingly great at the same time. I really enjoyed the quotes, it made the story all that much better.

Great work!

Author's Response: Thank you! At first, I just wanted the quotes at the beginning, but then I realized that I needed something for the transitions so I added them in. I'm glad you liked it!

I really enjoyed your story. I was hoping for Remus to come out from under the cloak and make the image real though.

Author's Response: Yeah, it really is a sad story. The cloak almost symbolized the closet in this scene. By the end, there was no need, though, because there was nothing to watch...

What can I say........WONDERFUL. I Love Sirius and Lupin. I am just sorry they didn't say anything...........

Author's Response: I'm so glad you like it! Sirius and Lupin is a really good pair, even though I'm not the biggest slash fan. Sorry it didn't turn out happy in the end; everybody at all the sites are complaining about that, haha.

This is soooo beautiful!!!! I'm not joking!! I now have tears in my eyes. Okay now I'm joking but this absolutely beautiful and I love it!! This is now one of my top favorite stories. Did I mention I love this story?

Author's Response: Wow, thanks for such a great and enthusiastic review! It's these reviews that make me love to write fanfiction!
