Chapter: Chapter Three: The Coldest Day of my Life

I love your constant references to the Holocaust. It's very intriguing, seeing as I love history. I am a very sensitive person when it comes to writing or movies because I really put myself in one of the character's shoes. For this story, I chose James. I found myself heartbroken and when I was trying to sleep that night I couldn't help but burst into tears. You are an amazing writer. I love stories that I can get into deeply. Update ASAP.

Oh, I love the use of the French. I am in the midst of learning it and I get really excited when I recognize what your saying.

Author's Response: Those references to the Holocaust are, for the most part, unintentional; they're a direct consequence of what JKR wrote about purity of blood... Denuncing nazism is absolutely not the main purpose of this story, though I admit there are very strong similarities between Hitler's ideology and Voldemort's. I am sorry to learn I made you burst into tears -- though at the same time, I am very happy you were able to get into the story so deeply. I understand why you felt so sorry for James -- he's so cold and distant towards Marie-Antoinette that I had to write a few paragraphs in his point of view, to explain his behaviour. Yes, he is heartbroken.

I'm glad you liked my using French, here and there :D. I am using my French origins in every story I write, though I'm using them rather discreetly usually. This is THE story in which I constantly refer to France and French, seeing the main character is French (I am even translating this story into French). Good luck with learning it -- it is a truly beautiful language, but it's rather complicated sometimes...

Thanks for the review! I'll try to update fast, as I'm FINALLY on holidays...

i think that this story has got to be my favorite on this whole site. I love your writing style-even tho English is your first language you write like it is! Man, even I can't describe stuff as well as you can. :)

i have to agree with LOTRandHPnut about the innuendo thing.... that line "we'll be having busy evenings this week" (or what ever it was, I can't keep that stuff straight) was the offending line. u get it now? i hope so.

Author's Response: *chokes* oh... ah... yes, I hadn't thought of THAT... Thanks for pointing it out, I'll try to get rid of it. Thanks for the review!

I love your story! You have created a frighteningly real Alternate Universe Scenario, it really gives me shudders when I read about the DEs. Marie-Antoinette is a wonderful OC, your characterization of her is done very well. I like especially how you describe James and Lily Potter - poor James! I've the slight feeling that he might go underground and fight the DEs to save his wife and son.
I'm very much looking forward to reading your next chapter, please update soon!

Author's Response: I'm trying! I've done about half of it... I'm happy you like Marie-Antoinette; as an OC, I thought she may be not as likeable as JKR's characters. And I agree, I'm really mean to James in that story.

the story is great it made me cry alot but you need to write more i read it a millon times hope to read more

Author's Response: A million times! And you're not bored with it yet?? :) I work on my chapters for a long time, and after that I have to re-read them and translate them into French... I usually hate them in the end!... Chapter Four is about 50% done. Thanks for the review, and I hope you didn't cry too much...

loved it! it was so sad. i cried at the bit when james recounts the loss of lily and harry (that's a good thing, i love sad stories). i really felt for marie-antoinette. it must be so horrible to be stuck in a foreign country where everyone despises you and you don't really understand society there. please update really soon, i can't wait for the next chapter!!!

Author's Response: I'll try to update soon! Thanks a lot for your review, and I do hope you won't cry through the whole story... :)

Intriging...although there was a really raunchy innuendo when Bellatrix and Marie where engaging in their little battle of wits. Maybe you should delete that line (I think you know which one I'm refering to). Also, I would like to know more details about what happens to Lily and Harry when they'er forced to live in that mudblood village the death eaters constructed for them.

Author's Response: Huh?? No, sorry, I don't know which line you're refering to. Could you be more specific? Given that English isn't my first language, I can fail to see even the more blatant innuendos... in spite of the months spent with medicine students, who are known to be the most incredibly sick-minded people in the entire world.

We'll see more of Lily and Harry in later chapters, so you'll have all the details you want about their new life. Thanks for your review!

Chapter: Chapter Three: The Coldest Day of my Life

Trés, trés bien ecriré - vraiment, tes histoires sont "amazingly written" (sorry, but il faut que j'écrire en anglais maintenant - as my French is embarassingly riddled with grammar mistakes)... You're writing is excellent, and not just that; you're characters are brilliantly yet subtly drawn, and with this fic in particular you have created a dark and shadowy world, that is at once frightening and captivating. The descriptions are poetic, clear, and full of energy, and it's a really original fic, in spite of the fact that it's a fanfic. Also, I think the way you've written the actual character of Marie-Antoinette is very interesting - I mean, there's been great character development from the start, and that she has her own flaws and insecurities (as every credible character should), which is far more appealing than a "perfect" character.

I can't wait to read more, keep it up - it's absolutely brilliant so far, and expect the next chapter of Red - which is long, long overdue - to be up sometime in the next few weeks! (Oh, and sorry that some accents are missing - I didn't know how to insert them while writing on this site)!

Author's Response: *huge grin* I love it when you write to me in French!!

Thank you for everything you said... I'm always in a very special mood when writing that story (each of my story has 'its' mood, actually). When I'm writing Marie-Antoinette, I'm in the "dark/poetic/shadowy" (that sounds fabulously silly) mood. Hence the descriptions. I'm happy to hear -- read -- they're clear enough, in spite of their length. And thanks for what you said about my character development. It's what I'm working on the most, and not only for that story.

Ooh, you're going to update Red?? GREAT!! I don't read much anymore (I'm having enough trouble finding the time to WRITE!) but I'm still faithfully keeping up with my old favourites... and Red was the very first fanfic I read, and the very first to be added to my favourite list. But you know that already, don't you? :)

Fantastic job! I could see everything playing out in my mind, especially the storm at the end. Marie Antoinette's thought processes are great. Everything is well done! I was so excited for this update, and now (of course) I can't wait for another!

Author's Response: Thank you so much!! now I should be writing some smart and/or deep comment, but I really can't think of any :). I'll try to update soon, I have a soft spot for that story...

I was so excited to see an update! =]
I’m not normally too fond of AU, but I really love this story. The plot is engaging and I always want to keep reading. And, you write with amazing detail that allows the reader to visualize what’s happening. Great job, and I can’t wait to see what’s next!

Author's Response: Thanks a lot! I know what you mean by not being fond of AU -- I wasn't too fond of it either, before beginning to write this story. Still, I'll manage to come back to canon in the end. I'm glad you don't think the descriptions are too long or something. I'll try to begin next chapter as soon as possible. Thanks for the review!

Bravo! I am in love with your story! You write beautifully. Your descriptions are wonderful, making it very easy to picture what you are trying to show us. I am very impressed, especially since english isn't your first language. How long have you been learning english for? I took french for four years in high school, but I can't really say that I understand it completely. I'm very slow to understand, actually. *smiles* my classmates and I all blame the poor teaching of our teacher. I can't wait to read more of your writing. Keep up the marvelous work!

Author's Response: Thanks a lot for all those nice compliments! I studied English at school for 6 years, but as I had a very lazy teacher for a few years... let's say 3 years of good studying. Actually, if I'm able to write in English quite easily, it's because I started reading a lot of books in English. Beginning with Harry Potter, of course... ;) Don't worry about being slow to understand French, it's one of the weirdest language ever! Thanks again for the lovely comments!

This is actually one of my top three favorite fanfictions! I await updates all the time, and I wasn't disappointed! This was a great chapter. I feel so bad for her! And James. It's terrible. It's so good though, really original!

Author's Response: WOW!! Top three favourites? I LOVE winning trophies! :D mmh, the story isn't a very joyful one, I agree, but now Marie-Antoinette seems to be a little braver... At least she won't be dragged this way and that like a rag doll anymore! Thanks for your review. :)

Awsome chappie! I would lecture you about how long it took, but I'm already a week behind. *cringes ashamedly* I think I'll go type it now...

Author's Response: Thanks!! I know it took long, but I'm typing a few lines here and a few lines there recently, while the children I'm nursing are taking their daily nap. Needless to say, I don't have as much time as I'd like to devote to my fictions... and I'm trying to update the four of them!!

Author's Response: Yes, so do I. I feel bad for everyone, as a matter of fact ('cept Lestrange and Co, strangely enough). I'm glad you liked the story.
