Awww. Poor Petunia and poor Harry. I do think that a lot of Petunia's feelings in this piece could have actually been like that. I agree, they didn't hate each other since the beginning - magic did change it all. Whether that's a good thing or a bad thing is yet to be discussed- but that's a different topic.
Anyway, great story!

that was really good. it made me realize how hard it must have been for petunia when lily left. I almost cried at the end. this was the best "Petunia POV" story i've ever read
