Chapter: The Ravenclaw Common Room

I am a Ravenclaw at heart and I will forever be a Ravenclaw! We all know how to get into the Ravenclaw common room based off the seventh book, but I love your take on the entrance! It's bloody brilliant! As for the common room, that's not how I would have expected it, but the dormitories are sweet! They all get their own rooms after first year? If so, that's cool! I liked this!(:

Quite amusing. ;) This isn't the best crafted story, but the intent to describe the common room with a humorous air was achieved beautifully. Yay for turnips!

Author's Response: I agree that it isn't the best crafted story, but then again, stories that are a vehicle for something else generallly aren't. This was a vehicle to get a discussion had on the beta boards more organized in a fic-like manner. *shrug* I suppose I should approve upon it someday. Thanks for reading!

This was very enjoyable and was exactly how I invisioned the common room to be.

Author's Response: I'm happy I did justice to your vision. Thanks for reading!

It is very good but I wish it was longer!

Author's Response: Lol. There's only so long that I could have dragged the thing out and only so many suggestions that the 'claws had at the time. I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Ha! I love how Luna got a monument...are you a Harry/Luna shipper?

Author's Response: Nope; Harry and Draco all the way. But I am a Ravenclaw at heart...Thanks for reading!

I'm sure this is a lovely fic for those in on the jokes. As a Hufflepuff, I'm left scratching my head. I still don't understand the turnip reference (someone told me it was based on Luna's earings, but those were radishes). And what's this about hampsters coming from Hufflepuff? We are badgers, not hampsters! Oh well, anyway, I thought the description of the common room was quite lovely anyway. I liked how the enterance was in the library, and I liked the description of 3 stories all opening into the common room. And all the book cases. And those bedrooms sound quite nice. :) nice work, even if I didn't get it.

Author's Response:
Let's see: turnips and radishes. It's a Ravenclaw obsession that makes no sense but is based on Luna's earings for some reason. I think whoever started it thought they were exchangable. Trust me, newbie Ravenclaws scratch their heads too. There ought to be an initiation care package or something...

The Ravenclaws had a crack!fic going on in the Common Room back in...December about Lord Hamsterpants. I think the Hufflepuff bit was based on an obscure comment one person may have made once.

The Ravenclaws like it as well. Particularly the library and the books.

Thanks for reading!

Great story. It has some good aspects of humor, but the story doesn't lose anything else in the process.

Author's Response: Thank you very much. I'm glad you enjoyed my little crack!fic

The other girl grabbed her. “And look! Four posters with real hangings; you can't hear a thing when they're drawn! And day beds and bay windows and look!” she said, pointing to the ceiling. “It's just like the Great Hall!”

I love how excited they were! Just like all of us would be if we were there, seeing everything. *nearly dies at the thought*

I think you missed an end code, like < / i >, after the first Why? Just thought I'd let you know...

Ah, dear Luna. Perfect for our house's dreaminess! You've captured her character excellently, Slian, scaring all the first-years! What a lovely romp through our favourite place! I love it.

Author's Response:
Ah. Thanks, I'll get right on it.

Luna's dreaminess. Know what? I think that we Ravenclaws walk a very fine line between dreamy and being concretely grounded in reality.
Glad you enjoyed!

Everything gets thrown around. Pillows, cheese, turnips,” he said, ticking them off on his fingers. “Pizza, marshmallows, Muggles that are charmed to find their way in here... *coughBushcough*

And I say, finally, Slian! It has been such a good writing, it was a shame it didn't went up sooner. ;)

But, now it's up for everyone's reading pleasure, and I think it's really a pleasure. Especially, reading Luna!

She gaped. “But you're-you're-“

Luna looked down at herself, her wide eyes bright. “Yes. I do suppose I am. I am here, after all. So I must be.”
You have to like this exchange! It's completely Luna! And the Cootie Conspiracy! Hilarious!

Author's Response:
One of these days we shall convince *coughblackmailcough* poultry to let us have another one of those, what do you say?

It did go up sooner. It went up ages ago into general, I was told it had to go into humor. Put it in humor, then deanine found a plot hole. Urgh. I'm glad it's finally up too.
And that could be my absolutly favorite bit in the whole thing. Thanks for reviewing!

Woah, this is amazing! There's everything a Ravenclaw like me would EVER want in a Dormitory! It's like someone gone around with a list and said "I would like..." and they've responded! It's very well written, and i was astounded to see that the first description as they walked into the room was much like my own impression in Post-Hogwarts story. It's also great how you've kept at least one original character. There's just one thing, though. What's up with the Turnip? I know it's a thing relating to us Ravenclaws, but whats the significance? Once again, a lovely creative one-shot! ♥

Author's Response: Ooh! You are fast! But that's exactly what it was. V V questioned the whole house months ago as to what we thought the Ravenclaw Common Room would look like (we know Gryffindor from canon as well as some of Slytherin, and she could picture Hufflepuff, but not our own.) So, everyone put in their two cents, and bunnied this. (This was originally posted in that thread as well, and more suggestions were added after that.) The turnip question shall be answered in the Common Room-we must maintain mystery, no? *grin*

I laughed. Well, I grinned very widely...even though I do think it is a little unfair that Ravenclaws can get any book they want in the whole castle that easily. Some of the rest of us also like to read...(smiling)

Author's Response: Yes, well, if you would have Sorted properly (or at least petitioned for a house change like VV wants you to) you could be in on the fun as well. *grin* And there's nothing stopping you from actually asking Madam Pince....

Author's Response: No. She was just playing on the first year's 'You are. You are." Thanks for reading!
