Reviews For Late Bloomer

So far I really love this story...the only thing about this chapter that bugs me is the fact that no matter what Hermione would never tell anyone about the Horcruxes without asking Harry. And certainly not someone she just met, and most definately not a first year (although Hermione was quite smart when she was one). Other than that, great job!

Author's Response: I personally see this year making the trio different than they have in the past. Hermione is a wonderful, caring person, but its my interpretation of her that she has a bit of a soft spot sometimes- I can see her feeling sorry for Cassandra and telling her about the Horcruxes. But like I said, that's my interpretation, and I certainly respect your feelings- especially since you're the fiftieth review for this story! thanks!

Ooooh, Tink, you put me in suspence!
I feel so bad for Cassandra, when she tried to do the spell...I guess it really hit her then. And her parents make me sick. What kind of deranged people would ignore their daughter like that?! Snobs!
Anyway, this was a really well-written chapter.
Keep up the stupendous work : )

Author's Response: you think her parents are bad now... you ain't seen nuthin' yet.... *insert evil laugh here* Ah, the spell... a depressing part even for me, who knows how everything is going to turn out in the end. Glad you liked it! And by the way, for everybody: Chapter nine is taking awhile, so take a peek at my author's page for sneak tidbits of the story. Thanks for the review!

YAY! She is moving on! I don't see why she should have to be a care taker, it would make so much more sence if hogwarts had magical caretakers, those idiots! I really like her although she is a bit dence...
update soon!

Author's Response: lol, I think dense would be an excellent word to describe her at times. Chapter nine is giving me trouble, but I'll try to finish it as soon as I can. thanks for the review!

That is the bestest story I've read for some weeks!Poor Cassandra, she keeps being treated so unfairly! She has a lot to learn, though..Why doesn't she like Sarah?Alta Abrams is very mean!Proffessor Munch is so funny, though! How in the name of Azkaban could a first year essay be five foot long? And that vampire game was very interesting to read about. There are still some unsolved mysteries..What happened to Cassandra when she kept laughing at everything, and what's become of her parents?, and where is the horcrux?I can't wait to read more! You should write a book about Cassandra and get it published.

Author's Response: unfortunately writing a book about Cassandra and having it published could get me into a teensy bit of trouble with Jo's lawyers... thanks for the amazing compliment, though! Sarah is just her prejudices showing through- and Professor Munch might be my favorite character, at least one of my favorites. For the record, when she was laughing at everything, she was just a little temporarily insane... more on the rest of your questions later, and thanks for the truly excellent review!

is the cup in Cassandra's house???

Author's Response: Cassandra believes the cup to be in her house. Wow, this must be what Jo feels like only she's on a bigger scale. But you'll find out in the next chapter, I think.

Wow. I was reading your reviews, and I could swear I sent one. Anyhoo... "Late Bloomer" is on my favourites list. Good writing!

Author's Response: hey, better late than never! Glad you enjoy it, and thanks for the review!

This is so sad...really well written!

Author's Response: If your only on chapter two, the sadness has barely started, I'm afraid... thanks for the review!

Great so far, I plan to read more. Poor Cassandra...Filch's apprentice! *sniffle*

Author's Response: So glad you like it- It's always great to get a new reviewer! Thanks for the review!

man, poor Cassandra! its so easy to vizualise myself in her shoes, and I don't want to ever be there again, let me tell you. this is written very excellently!10/10!

also, thank you for the lovely Quicksilver nomination! I don't belong to the forums, but if i did, you'd totally be on my nomination list! *Joe/ Drew agrees with me. he also says hi.*

Author's Response: Yikes, I wouldn't want to be in Cassandra's shoes either. If it makes you feel better, she has a major change in the next chapter... whether for the better or the worse I'm not going to say, but the story takes an entirely different turn than how its been going now. And how can I resist nominating Drew? He rocks! And thanks for thinking of me- I don't expect to get nominated, but its great to know I have you guys here to cheer me on! (Although you really should join the forums. They're an absolutely fantastic experience.) Love to Joe, and thanks for the review!

*Whoops, typoed Fraulein's name. Sorry!!!

Author's Response: no problem. =)

Oh, and I agree with Fraulein Weisenhammer. Why can't she do s/t cool, like be Mrs. Figg's apprentice? But then I guess there'd be no story...
Fraulein, I'd really rather you didn't use the word retaarded; it's a little insensitive. I shadowed an autistic girl this summer and found the phrase slightly tactless. (No offense meant at all)
Sorry for cluttering your review board, Tink!!

Author's Response: Not only would there be a distinct lack of story, but there would be little point in her going to Mrs. Figg's, because she really, really wanted to go to Hogwarts however she could. (Admittedly, now she would probably rather have crazy cat lady.) No problem about cluttering, since you have something to say. This is where you express your opinions, after all!

Have you read The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini? Cassandra reminds me of the main character Amir: I identify with her even as I am ashamed of my own behavior. I confess I have looked down on others because I didn't think they were good enough to be my friends before (in my case it had nothing to do with social class, but whatever). You really should read The Kite Runner though.
I'm enjoying your story a lot.

Author's Response: I haven't, although I've heard of it. I may even have it somewhere. And really, who hasn't looked down on people you don't think are fit to be your friends? I know I've done it. (It's still wrong, of course.) One of the signs I'm getting Cassandra across well is that the readers can identify with her, so yours is one of my gratifying reviews in that respect. I'll have to check that book out as soon as I get a free moment. Glad you like it, and thanks for the review!

Munch is utterly demented; I love the way you write him.
Poor Cassandra...
Great writing : )

Author's Response: Munch, unfortunately, is based on a teacher in real life... much like Lockhart with Jo, though, they'd never guess it was them! Glad you liked it, and thanks for the review!

This is sooo depressing! why cant she just do cool muggle things? her parents are retarded I think. luv luv, update soon!

Author's Response: Aw, I'm sorry, I didn't originally intend to be so depressing but as you can see it's getting that way. And I'm afraid to say that while her parents are suckish, muggle things would be worse for her than just being a squib. Glad you like it- chapter eight is with a beta and chapter nine is in the works!

Wow. This story is not at all what I was expecting. As you get older, you forget how vindictive eleven-year-old girls are to each other. I feel really sorry for Cassandra, but on the other hand, she's kind of stuck up.
I really want to know what happens with the albino girl...

Author's Response: To tell you the truth, I'd forgotten how evil eleven year olds can be... alot of my material for that came from babysitting jobs. Cassandra is definetely more stuck up than your average eleven year old, though. As for Sarah, she'll be making a pretty large appearance in the next chapter, as well as Hagrid, Professor Munch, and Joanna. Thanks for the review!

Awesome chapter!
I was thinking...is it called "Late Bloomer" because her magic will develop later?
Keep up the great work : )

Author's Response: glad you liked it! And the reason I gave the story the name 'Late Bloomer' will be revealed at the end of the story- but she really is a squib. Thanks for the review!

Great! I can't wait for next time! Hurry up and write more!

Author's Response: patience, young grasshopper- more is to come. Chapter Seven is already with a beta, to make up for the long time I took putting up this one. Glad you liked it, and thanks for the review!

R U dead!!!!!!!! Where's the next chapter I've been waiting for monthes! comeon! I luv this story. Please wirte some more.!

Author's Response: Sorry this chapter has taken awhile... I should have put something in my author's page. But anyway, I've been away on vacation, and then my internet was down, and on top of that I've had a bit of writer's block. So I should finish this chapter within the next week or so, and then it will go to my beta... so it should be up in a couple of weeks. And I'm sorry to say that the chapters will be coming rather slowly now, because I'll be back in school. But I'm glad you love the story so much! Thanks for the review!

Why are the Gryffindors so mean? I mean, Slytherins, sure, but Gryffindors? it just doesn't make sense... great chapter, though!

Author's Response: that's the thing, though. Everyone assumes that Slytherins can't be decent and Gryffindors are automatically sweethearts. Think of Slughorn, think of McClaggen. Breaking out of the mold is one of the themes I'm trying to get across in the story. Glad like it!

Wow.I had no idea Cassandra could be so mean.I don't like her any more now, because she was rude to Sarah.I suppose spending weeks being treated like a slave had a very negative impact on her. That's a really interesting chapter though. Will Cassandra ever realise she was mean to Sarah?

Author's Response: Cassandra doesn't really think of it as being mean, exactly- though she does acknowledge that she wasn't exactly friendly. She's a bit bitter at the world at the moment. Thanks for the review, though!
