Wow. Never expected this particular turn of the screw.
Author's Response: you have no idea... thanks!
What a turnabout. and that vampire game--creepy. I love the name Professor **Munch**.
Author's Response: Professor Munch might be my favorite to write. thanks for the review!
Ooh, plot thickens to a frothy goo! Werewolves and vampires, eh? And a teacher who gets no sleep.
BTW, I'm glad you are showing all the houses having equally nasty little nits in their membership. Gryffindor is not the 'good' house and Slytherin the 'evil 'one. Depending on how you look at it, Slytherins are shrewd and business like or ambitious and corrupt, Gryffindors daring and chivalrous or reckless and warlike, Hufflepuffs peaceloving or ineffectual and Ravenclaws intellectual or pedantic. It's a question of degree.
Author's Response: that's one of the main points I was trying to get across here, really- everyone has gits. thanks for the review!
Lovely chapter, my dear! When is the next one? You do seem to have a talent at keeping the reader hooked.
Cassandra - I love the flaws you've given her. Her selfishness and how spoiled she is really shows in this chapter. It shows how much she has been hurt by her parents as well. I find it hard to accept that Sarah can still be friends with her after what she did to Carter and Jane - I guess she is a good person. Is there something strange with Mirabelle or is she normal? If there is I would be very interested to find that out in the next chapter.
I adored the scene with Alta. She got just what she deserved, being sent to McGonagall's office. I'm glad Sarah didn't punch back. I like her persona, calm, easygoing, and righteous.
Nice touch of humor at the end after the subtle sadness in this chapter. Loved it. Is there any reason she hates to be called Cassie?
Simply wonderful! I can't wait for the next installment!
Author's Response: the next chapter is with my beta, but since she may be MIA I will try to find someone to look the chapter over if she doesn't reappear soon, since you guys have been AWESOME about waiting. Glad you loved Cassandra- this was my favorite tantrum of hers. And Mirabelle... how could someone named Mirabelle be normal? But you'll have to wait a bit to see her, I'm afraid. As for the Cassie thing, I was wondering if anyone would pick up on that- it's something I've had for her from the beginning. She's just very proper, really, and since I call her Cassie in my head she naturally hates it. Thanks for the great review!
Oh, no, Cassandra--don't do that. you need a friend--a nice, nonjudgmental friend like Sarah--oh boo hoooo--you dummy!
Author's Response: that basically sums up the entire chapter, doesn't it? Thanks for the review!
Ooh, finally the big day. Can't wit for more.
Author's Response: thanks!
Awww... poor Cassandra. (Interesting name, that--the doom-sayer. Any relevance?
Author's Response: tell me about it... although the truth is that I just picked Cassandra's name because it sounded right.... whether it will turn out to have any signifigance is unknown. =)
I loved it!
Author's Response: great! Glad you did.
What tantalizing possibilities this chapter holds. I dare not guess who Professor Munch is--though I have my suspicions.
And the humor's great! (Cassandra's intention to scold the house elves about the food they've been feeding her and the Attack the Caretaker line to mention only two instances. )
Alta's a real stinker. I was as surprised as Cassandra that she ended up in Gryffindor--although I shouldn't be. All the Houses have had their share of miscreants over time. Gryffindor only looks so good because we always see it through Harry's eyes.
Author's Response: what tantalizing possibilities this reviewer holds! I think this was definetely one of my funnier chapters, though 'Execution Day' is the funniest, in my opinion... thanks for the review!
oOoOoOoOoO... I like chicken... yay Cassandra for finally accepting that invitation! and for making friends! Ok, so she did piss off some Hufflepuffs, but... this story is about Cassandra! so there! *I'm sorry my review is so...wierd. I'm sleep deprived and somebody gave me far too much sugar...* I hope somebody gives Alta Abrams a good kick up the rear. cause she deserves it. HA! 10/10 as always, and once again I apologise for being so hyper.
Author's Response: Glad you liked it! Hyper is always good. And the Hufflepuffs are VERY unhappy with her, you can count on that. So now that I've update my story, maybe you could return the favor? Just an idea... thanks for the review!
Aw...this is so sad. I can't think why Cassandra's parents would do this to her. They must not know how bad it is. And I can see that McGonagall might think it's worth it to be at Hogwarts no matter what conditions you have to live in. The school is her life, after all.
You really make me feel Cassandra's loneliness and despair. And you describe the castle and Filch very well.
Author's Response: Like I said, you ain't seen nothing yet... glad you enjoyed it!
How very like a sheltered ten year old! Cassandra's opinion changes every few minutes as she assiduously studies her parents' reactions. What will she do when she gets to school? And Filch is her mentor! This is going to be interesting.
Author's Response: yay, a new reader! Believe me, if you thought this was interesting.... well, enjoy the rest- thanks for the review!
Author's Response: Thanks!
I really like this story! It's very original, well written, and is like nothing I've ever read before. I'm dying to read more!
Author's Response: Thanks- chapter thirteen will be done soon, so look forward to that!
"Friends. Sarah seemed to be filled with color" I LOVE THIS LINE!!! It's so true, you know? Once you get to know how beautiful a person is on the inside, suddenly their outside seems to reflect that.
Her friends are great!! I hope she didn't mess things up with the other Hufflepuffs too badly...
How DID Alta manage to get into Gryffindor, btw? Oh, well, I guess the same way MacLaggen did.
Splendid chapter : )
Author's Response: That was my favorite line in this chapter, besides the one about the chicken. Glad you liked it as well! As for the other 'Puffs, well, she did basically call them losers, so a quick redemption is not on the way. Don't lose hope, though! As for Alta, it's definetely similiar to McLaggen. Thanks for the review!
Ok, so, I forgot to review this chapter. whoops. but never fear! I'm here now, to tell you: gosh, you rock! Cassandra nearly had me crying there, and that doesn't happen often! Good job on accepting that inivtation! I know I've been in similar situations, but it's really not that fun to have lunch all by yourself. anyway, 10/10, and I can't wait for the next chapter, which I see you've submitted already! yay!
Author's Response: No problem- a late review is better than no review, especially from one of my most dedicated reviewers! And while lunch by yourself is not fun, this lunch might not be so great either... but that's all I'll say. Thanks for the review!
aww.. good for her
Author's Response: thanks!
aww.. good for her
Author's Response: very much so. thanks for the review!
I'm glad she has a friend! This was a really good chapter!
Author's Response: Me, too. Believe me, me too. =) Thanks for the review!
Thank you so much for updating! It's been a while, isn't it? I am just reviewing to say that this chapter is great and that I can't wait to read more.
Author's Response: It has been awhile, but never fear! Chapter twelve is with my beta and I'm about a quarter of the way through Chapter thirteen- I want to finish before Deathly Hallows comes out. Thanks for the review!
