Great chapter. I loved it. & I certainly didn't expect it this soon. Maybe 'cause I had read the last one a bit late.
THis Martin did turn out an Unspeakable after all! Ha! Jerk. I really hate him. & Hermione! I can't believe it! It's like she's betraying Harry! him & his trust he showed when he told her about his suspicions before the incidents! This chapter shows more of the human part of Harry. His hurt at Hermione's actions. His relief at discovering that Romilda is alive, & the whole talk with Lance. I'm glad he got Lance back. That's a great relief. & That Romilda is alive! This chapter is probably one of the most positive ones. :D. Though it does seem to open the door the leads into darker chapters.
Great chapter! Waiting for the next!
Author's Response: Thank you, and the next is in queue.
You'll see more of Martin and Hermione in later chapters. Their motives will be further detailed and explained.
Ooooh man, so many things!
First, I absolutely LOVED the exchange between Harry and Martin. I could see them and hear them and...ah! it was simply perfect. Your tone was wonderful and the dialogue top-notch. Harry had so many zingers...it was classic.
And I knew Robards did something to Martin's hand. He isn't an Auror for nothing...
And Hermione! My jaw absolutely dropped when you surprised me with that one. It's almost disappointing. Before all this, Hermione would never have been the type to go behind Harry's back and work around him, especially with a department that she knew Harry loathed. It would have been to sneaky for her. I guess it just shows how people can change under the right circumstances...
I'm glad that Harry got the mission from Robards. It was about time he worked on this business alone and with authorization.
I must admit, though, I'm suspicious of how Romilda is still alive and why the secretary gave Harry Daphne's address. I don't think Romilda is working with anyone sketchy, but, like you kept repeating in the chapter, I don't believe in coincidences. I think there's a reason Harry got Daphne's address in particular. I just don't know it yet.
And on a final note (I think), I'm happy that Lance and Harry are okay now. It was truly depressing when Lance "threatened" him - it was the last thing Harry needed.
Anyways, your writing is incredibly brilliant, especially your dialogue. Man, if I could write like you...Honestly, you could make a career out of this.
Great job, can't wait for next chapter!!!
Author's Response: Why, hello, my most faithful reviewer. :) Thanks a lot for the praise, and for the rest of the review, particularly shrewd and insightful. You managed to ask all the good questions! As for Hermione... there are deeper reasons for her behaviour, that will be explained in chapter 13. Nice remarks about Daphne, you should like the beginning of the next chapter! :D
Your stories are wonderful, you have a wonderful style of writing! Thanks for finding the time to update, even if you're busy with lessons and exams! Go on like this!
Iím still in love with this Harry youíve created , and he keeps amazing me. I love it.
Okay, terrific story so far! I can't wait to see where this is heading, so I hope the next chapter is up soon! =]
Wow. That's so...sad. About Romilda of course, not Fenrir. But good chapter. I was hooked, but it did get a little confusing at times.
Update soon please! I know your busy but this story is just too interesting!!! Also if you dont update for a while readers have to recap old chapters because they forget what was going on! (or i do anyways, i'm reading so many fan fics that i sometimes get mixed up!) Anyways AMAZING CHAPTER! I loved those 'other wolves' they sound so majestic(sp?) and cool! Can't wait for more!
Hmmm, intruiging. Aww, that was kinda cute. Awful Snape. Great chapter.
Aww I had tears in my eyes during Remus' little pity party. He doesn't get a break either. ='[ That was a great chapter by the way, very emotional. Loved it.
A werewolf? The poor kid never gets a break =]. Anyway, I love the story a lot! It's terrific, I'm just starting to get a little worn out by the whole thing. It's just one thing after another. Lol great chapter.
Great Chapter. Sorry I didn't update earlier. I'm having my Final Examintaions for this year, & they've kept me well away from reading anything providing it's not a school textbook.
God, this new Transfiguration teacher is annoying! He reminds me of Lockhart.
I'm starting to believe that this Third Kind is not unknown to the wizards (other than the dead people & the portraits who wouldnt speak about it, I mean.) At least, not completely. I wonder what's the deal with the Martin bloke, if he knows anything about them, & if he works in the Department of Mysteries. I don't think I'd ever like an Unspeakable. I expect them to be the kind that had sworn to talk in Sphinx language & speak only in Riddles. If not annoying, it's boring to meet someone in life who does that. :D
I've dpne what you told me & went to read the interlude, & I think its a fantastic way to clear up any confusion (at least it did to mine!) & The coma Harry went into seems much more serious in there. I did not spare it a lot of thought really. & he was at the Weasleys? Poor them.
Anyway, I loved the chapter. I don't mind long waiting or your stories' chpaters, really. You've update it everyone of your ongoing fics, except "My worst fears". I know the summary says it's on hold, but I can't help but hope. :D
Author's Response: I know quite a bit about being kept busy by revisions, so no worries; I'm very happy you finally found the time to review. I'm answering very late, so you now have all the answers to your questions -- well, most of them anyway. I'm happy you liked the interlude; as for My Worst Fear, it *is*, unfortunately, on hold. Sorry.
thanks for the update!! this story is in my favorites so keep updating!!
Sorry forgot to mention l loved McGonigals reaction when she puts two and two together I figures out that it's Harry's aura that's so powerful. I feel like that totally changed a few of the things that McGonigals been wondering about. I love the little relationship they have, like she's his friend but also the only adult left you still cares and can reach him, forget adult people. ok I think I'm done for now. cya!
hmm. interesting man this Martin guy, looking forward to what he wants to talk to Harry about. Really interesting chapters. If I was McGonigal I would have had a hard time refraining from doing anything short of smacking a screaming something reather inapropriate into the face of that new transfiguration teacher. However, I think Harry took care of him all good and dandly. I love those little moments inside of Harry's head or jsut when he does something I can imagine looking totally awesome, specially the shower thing. And I really like Robard in this chapter, it showed how professional and I guess even respectable he could be. I'll be keepin an eye open for this next chapter I'm predicting some sort of enlightenment for Harry, maybe a few more clues or if he's luckey some answers he can actually use. Ok well, well I hope your enjoying some of this summer weather I may sound totally off but where I am on the globe summer VaK is right around the corner. ok bye :D
Very good chapter. Your vocabulary is astounding.
Of course McGonagall figured out Harry was the one with the remarkably strong aura. But now the question is: what, if anything, is she going to do about it?
And so the Ministry is involved in the attacks on Hogsmeade but they're not doing anything. Rather irresponsible, if you ask me. And suspicious. Why the hell aren't they stopping their citizens from being slaughtered??
Another question: what did Robards do to this Martin fellow while shaking his hand? Or will we find out later? And, remind me, please, who is Martin? I can't remember meeting him in this tale, but it's all too likely that I've simply forgotten.
The wolves are the Third Kind too, aren't they? Man, I can't wait to see how everything connects!!
Brilliant job, as always!
Author's Response: Martin is a whole new character. I'm answering this very late, so you now know that most of your guesses were correct and most of your questions were the right to ask -- I'm astounded at the way you always manage to ask the right questions. It's a pleasure to have you as a reader!
THIS is best.... U are brilliant, please continue. Can you please post your stories more frequently... I standing on my toes to read them comletely
Not sure why you hated this, but I liked it very much. I hope that this fic will survive the Deathly Hallows. There are so many mysteries wrapped up in it. Harry's condition, these mysterious wolves, the forest "elf?" who shot Ron into a mysterious coma and at the heart these malevolent old trees in the middle of the Forbidden Forest.
I hope for the best as I have long admired this story. Keep up the good work.
I'm only half way through this story, and it isn't finished. May I just say
THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST STORY'S I'VE READ!!
It is truly excellent! Keep writing! If it wasn't late, and if I wasn't tired, I would keep reading! LOL
Congratulations on this first-rate FanFic!!
Very interesting, and excellent as always. :)
Author's Response: Thank you.
O_O Is Harry teaching? Can he be - I mean, I don't know if he's handsome (probably is, now :p) but young and athletic definitely... unless it's... KRUM! Loved this!
Author's Response: If he had been teaching, I would have said it... No, I'm talking about a character that will be mentioned in ch8 and appear in ch11. Thanks for the review :)
