Well, I do like your story, it's very good, very original, but what the hell do you mean by 'whooping pagans'?

Author's Response: Thank you! I'm glad you liked it. 'Whooping pagans' was something Malfoy used to describe the happy crowd inside The Three Broomsticks. He's being sarcastic. He was sitting alone this New Year's Eve and was not participating in the fun that takes place in there, so he brought of the defences. Of course he doesn't say it to be mean - Hermione's right in front of him and her friends are among those 'whooping' people inside. I hope you understand it now. Thank you for the review!

Chapter: One-shot

I had only just posted a review for Finality and said I was going to look out for the next D/Hr one-shot you mentioned you were going to post soon, when I checked your author page and voila! There it was, ready to be read. And let me tell you, what a read. It started out really nice and comfortable with happy people on New Year’s Eve (the ‘I Never’ game was a great input) and then we dive into a whole other place, this secret they’ve kept. I loved how you had the flashback as if they’re telling each other their story (“their story” aww) instead of just broadcasting the words “Flashback” and “End of flashback” which really can disturb the flow of a story and is not very professionally done. This was much better. And I loved how they kept interrupting each other because the speaker was saying something that wasn’t right. It was very funny (except for the last time when Malfoy hurt Hermione by saying he had pushed her away and called her a Mudblood, which was cruel). All in all, I really enjoyed it. It’s going on my fav list as well as Finality!

Author's Response: Thank you! I'm glad you liked the flashback sequence - it's a very important part of the story because, as I said in another review, it's the story's root. Yes, the last time the flashback was interrupted it wasn't funny at all. Malfoy is still the proud person he ever was and doesn't want to just kind of give into what they did and accept it, and he is in a way nervous of remembering it, alongside Hermione at that. "You regret it, don't you?" also shows that he's afraid of how she might react once their reminiscing is over and they're there, alone face to face for the first time since that night two months ago. I'm so happy you enjoyed it! And that you liked Finality too. Thanks!

Chapter: One-shot

First off, let me say that I usually don't like Hermione/Draco. To me, it's the same old story every time. Like, blah, blah, they hate each other then voila!, they can't keep their hands off each other. However, I think this story was different. I absolutely love the way you wrote them remembering "that night." Each of them has a sort of fantasy about how it went, and they have to keep each other in reality. Like, "No, Malfoy, I did not throw myself at your feet and profess my undying love for you. Try again." It is very clever the way you wrote that whole sequence, with it constantly backtracking to get to what really happened. It was humorous in a way that Hr/D usually isn't. Also, I'm not sure if you made up the game "I never" but I like the idea. I'm not sure if Hermione would actually admit to having had sex (in front of all her friends, no less!) but what the heck, it's what makes the story interesting. Besides, I guess she was drunk at the time. Overall, I really like this story and am sorry to hear that it is a one-shot. A well-deserved 10/10!

Author's Response: Well, I'm glad you gave this one a chance. I completely agree with you that many D/Hr stories jump from hate to love too soon and in some very unrealistic way, so I'm glad you thought this one was different. I'm glad you liked the whole flashback sequence. It was important that it was written well because it the story's root. No, I didn't come up with the "I Never" game. It's a game I've played loads of times, and it's really fun and can get extremely interesting, that is if everyone playing it dares to tell the truth. Yeah, Hermione might not have admitted it, but I kind of wrote it as a foreshadowing of what was to come, and, like you said, Hermione was somewhat drunk. I'm so pleased to hear that you liked it. That it comes from someone who usually don't like D/Hr, it is even more rewarding. Thank you!
