Wow. I was sooo sick of that song before i read this. Now i listen to it all the time. *applause*
Author's Response: Thank you so much. Yeah, I still ain't sick of that song, which is extremely odd considering I'm such a music snob. anyway, I'm really happy you like it, and I hope you'll check out the restof my stories, One Good Day, Epilogues Part I: Shadows, and Everybody Does It. Thanks.
That was soooooo good! It almost made me cry...it's the sort of scene you kind of know wouldn't really happen, because you know people aren't really that open, but i'm so glad someone wrote it, you did it really well (the bit i just said wasn't meant as an insult btw, i just meant it's like when you lie in bed and imagine all the things you'd like to say to someon even though you never do...you still need the imagining bit...ya know?)
Anyway, it was amazing! Going to read all your others now!
Author's Response: Thank you so much, yes I think I know exactly what you are saying. That may be why I think this is the way I imagine it happening, but also I know it won't really happen this way. It's how it should be, but won't be. Thank you so much, and I really hope you enjoy the rest of my stories. I appreciate it much.
i really enjoyed that i really don't like songfic but that was put together very well
Author's Response: Thank you so much, I'm very glad you liked it despite it being a songfic. That being said, I hope you'll read the rest of my stories, all of which are sequels to this one, and none of them are songfics, so yay for that. Thanks for the review, I appreciate it.
Aaaww, that's so sweet!! I loved it!
Author's Response: This is my favorite, I love following readers around! Again, I'm really glad you enjoyed it.
This is your first? Its one of the better fanfictions I have read. Well developed, good characters. Keep writing!
Author's Response: Oh, please keep reading, I have two other fics already up and finished, so please read those, and keep an eye out for my fourth fic, please. Thank you so much for the review.
Oh jeesh man... that was awesome. I've read my share of R/H and H/G but you added a strength to the guys that I haven't noticed in any of the other stories. (Wonder why.) You also have me curious to hear that particular song! Good job. This is the first songfic I've read by the way. I liked how you intertwined the two together. Very dramatic. 10/10
Author's Response: Thank you so much, I really appreciate it. You definitely need to hear that song. In fact, if you go to Yahoo music, you can watch the video for free. Listen to the song, seriously. I first heard the song about the same time I started listening to HBP. I won't own it in print until it comes out on paperback. anyway, I heard the song, then I got to the H/G kissing scene, and the internal director in me started mapping out the scene to the song. There's a part there where it does this acoustic bridge, and it cranks into the distortion and the chorus right after, and at that moment, that's when I imagined the kiss going down. So, eventually, I decided, I needed to write a songfic to that, but I learned something very quickly. The song is not Harry Ginny at all. As I listened to the lyrics, it became more and more clear that the emotions in that song mirror the budding Ron Hermione relationship, and that's where this fic was born. If you do listen to the song, I think you'll be able to easily pick out the exact moment I'm talking about. Anyway, thanks for the read, and I hope you'll check out One Good Day, which is sort of the sequel, and Epilogues when it comes out, which is a sequel to One Good Day. I like to keep things to the same universe.
that was absolutely beautiful!!
Author's Response: I can't believe I forgot to respond to this one. I'm so glad you thought so. I'm really enjoying the up surge in how many late reviews this story is getting. As it was my first, it means a lot to me. I'm really glad you enjoyed it, and I really hope you'll check out One Good Day (posted and complete) and Epilogues Part I: Shadows (chapter 1 in queue) Thanks!
I liked this story alot
good job funny and sweet at the same time keep up the good work
Author's Response: This is the second review in a row that has said this story was funny. It's kind of funny because I'm sitting over here thinking to myself, what the hell is so funny. Then I remembered the whole after the fight scene, and I was like, "yeah, I did write a little humor in there didn't ?" Well, I thank you so much for the review, and I really hope you'll swing by and check out One Good Day, give that a review, and keep your eyes peeled for Epilogues, Part I: Shadows, which should be making its way through the queue any day now. Thank you.
so what if its a song fic?i think you did well i love that song and it is funny because i saw the muisic video the day that i read this.anyway i like it and a good song choice it fits perfectly.
Author's Response: Heh, thanks. Well, when I first started reading fanfics, I learned early on that I didn't like songfics very much. It's just me. Or maybe not. Since then, I've learned through reviews that lot's of readers intentionally avoid songfics. So it was really ironic that the first story I wrote turned out to be a songfic. I'm glad I did it though... the story ended up spawning two sequels with two more in the works, so that's good. And I'm not trying to disrespect anyone who writes songfics, but they definitely have a slightly different audience, you know? Anyway, Thank you very much for the review, and I hope you'll check out One Good Day, which is up and completed, and keep your eye out for Epilogues, Part I: Shadows, the first chapter of which is still in queue. Thanks again.
also just like to add, thanks for putting me onto this song i love it! one of my favs at the moment!
Author's Response: Yeah, it's a real good song. Staind is way too mainstream for me, but I've finally surrendered and decided that I like them and I can't change that.
this was so good, my favourite fic! this is how i always imagined ron and hermione getting together, a lot of yelling and a big kiss, it was perfect ay! i also like the harry/ginny bit at the end 10/10 :D
Author's Response: Thank you very much... This was my first fic, and in many ways it's still my favorite (only of the ones I've written). So it really means a lot when people come around and enjoy it and leave reviews. Of course, I might as well plug my other fics. If you did like this, I really encourage you to check out One Good Day, and Epilogues, Part I: Shadows when it gets through the queue. I've been keeping all of my fics in the same "universe," so you can think of all my stories as sequels, I guess.
By the way i have started my first fanfiction and HOPEFULLY will be accepted when i put it in queue
Author's Response: Sweet! Let me know. Actually, let me know how long it takes to get through the queue, I'm really starting to worry about the one I've been waiting on for a week now.
ya the dance didnt end the way i wanted too.. Instead they played it during clean up cause the teacher head couldnt play it i was crying cause it was the last dance before 8th grade graduation. But some how that song REALLY seems to calm me down but still THANK YOU
Author's Response: Aw, oh well, better luck next time... Yes, there will be a next time, and a next time after that. So, no tears....
I absolutley HAD to tell you i read this looked up the song fell in love with it and now that i am the music picker for the dance this is the 2nd to last slow dance for the last 7th/8th grade dance! My crush is in 8th grade ooo maybe he will ask me to dance for that song *crosses fingers* THANK YOU!!!!!
Author's Response: Okay, that just put a huge smile on my face, thanks. I've had lots of responses, but I think I'll always remember this one specifically. I mean, somewhere out there, a junior high dance has a song pick influenced by me, how cool is that? Good luck with your crush, I want to know how it goes. Don't wait on him to ask you, ask him. And if you're really forward, kiss him right when the distortion guitar hits after the acoustic bridge. Killer. Keep me informed. Thanks.
This was a fantastic story. It seems like something that would happen in the books. The best part of the story was how you chose the perfect song to accompany the main stroryline. When writing a songfic, it is hard to mix the lyrics with the story but you did it perfectly.
-Best Wishes, Lpfan91.
Author's Response: Thank you so much for the review! I gotta be honest with ya, I didn't choose the song, it chose me. I got so hooked on that song when I first heard it, and the more and more I listened to it... well next thing I know I'm chugging away at this story. I really appreciate the story and hope you'll check out my other story One Good Day, and its sequel when it finally makes it through the queue.
Aw i'm nearly crying! lol. oh, the song fits in just perfecty with the fic. It's exactly how each of the characters would react. oh, it's just perfect! 10/10. loved it!! you're going straight into my favourite authors section thingy...
Author's Response: Thank you. Yeah, in many respects this is still my favorite fic I've written, even now as I'm wrapping up my third and starting to think about my fourth. This one really did write itself and of the whole thing, there are only two small things I'd like to change; the opening paragraph, and the quote from Hermione where she asks Ron why he insists on taking the things she says the wrong way... Both are very awkwardly worded in my opinion. Other than that, this one was just about effortless, and I loved writing it. Even now, I sometimes go back and read it to help get myself in character for current fics, and Hermione saying "I will" still gets me. I also cannot listen to that song anymore without this story running through my head. So, the short story is that this story meant a lot to me as I wrote it, and now, and it means just as much if not more that you enjoyed it. Thanks for the review.
this is exactly how I imagined Ron and Hermione's first kiss...... Perfect
Author's Response: YAY! A new review. Thank you so much, it means a great deal to me. I couldn't help it, there's so much fire there, there was only one way to get them to kiss, at least in my mind. Anyway, I really appreciate the review and I encourage you to read and review One Good Day, which is a sort of sequel to this story. Also please keep an eye out for Epilogues, Part I: Shadows, a true sequel to One Good day. The first chapter for that one is in the queue. Again thank you so much, means a great deal to me.
This is definately one of the best fics I've read recently, and definately the best song fic. Since HBP we seemed to have been burried under H/G reunited fics (Something I'm guilty of - if you get the chance, please chekc out my fic Glint of Gold) and R/Hr finally-getting-together-fics, and they are all the same. I love the whole idea of Hermione and Ron getting together during an argument, it's the way I've always pictured it happening - there relationship is just so passionate. So really well done! I thought it was superbly written and I'll definetly be keeping an eye open for any more fics from you. 10!!!
Author's Response: Thank you so much. I'll definitely check out Glint of Gold and toss a review your way. Yeah, I can't say this is how I imagine JKR putting the two together, but this is the way it feels natural to me, so... I do have another fic out there, and i hope you'll give it a read. It's called One Good Day, and the final chapter is in queue. It's at 550 reads already but only twelve reviews, so you know what that means. Please leave as many reviews for that s you want, and I'll get a glimpse of Glint of Gold.
This is by far my favorite story ive read!!! I hope you keep working on One Good Day cause its looks pretty good!!! I did a chapter in my story based off of the lyrics ideas hope dont mind! I JUST LOVED IT!!!!!!
Author's Response: Thank you so much! Sadly, I'm no longer working on One Good Day because it's finished! I'm just waiting for the last chapter to finish up through the queue, should be any day now. As for your story, how could I be upset? In fact, i look forward to checking it out.
It's always nice to see a wedding fic that isn't just a "Harry pines for Ginny" angst fest. I'm not normally one for songfics either, but I thought you integrated the lyrics well. Great job!
Author's Response: Thank you so much. As I mention in the a/n, I'm not a songfics myself. Further, something I've never mentioned was that I've read too many fics where there is the "Ginny is in danger anyways," argument that puts ginny in the horcrux hunt with Harry. Or the "Love is your most powerful weapon, so let me come" argument. To be honest, I think that the character of Harry Potter is such that even if he were prevented with these arguments, he would not change his mind. More specifically, I think the only character that would have been capable of changing Harry's mind died at the end of book six. At the same time, the pending wedding does leave us all with that really huge loose end. I don't know how JKR will tie it up, that's why I didn't really focus on that part of it, but one thing I'm almost positive of is that harry will not go back on his decision. Okay rambling... Should probably get to work on the sequel to One Good Day.
