i loved this fic...its the best ive read in a long time...an i love this song....its a powerful song...it makes me wish...i had someone to sing that wth...
Author's Response: Darn it, I just wrote a response to this and timed out. Yes, the song for this and this scene just hit me like inspiration and this story has held a special place in my heart. For one, it sparked the rest of my fanfics which all follow the same story arc, but for another, if it weren't for this fic, I would have never met my girlfriend, so I guess I did find someone to share this song with. Thank you for the review.
This is by far the best R/H fan fiction I have ever read and I have read a lot. This was exactly how I pictured them getting together; through a fight. I'm a big R/H shipper and you nailed it right on the head. I hope J.K Rowling uses this in Book 7 haha. Great story keep it up!!
Author's Response: Thank you very much, it's always an honor when someone compares me to Ms. Rowling, or wishes my writing is used in the actual books (as rare an occurance as that is). I'm further honored that you would consider this the best fanfic out there. To be honest this was my first, and personally not my best. What I will say though is if you really liked this, please keep reading, all of my fics are in the same story line, and in my opinion, I have two that I think really blow this one out of the water (Everybody Does It, and Epilogues Part I). But as for the story itself, yes, I'm a pretty big fan of the R/Hr ship, and I obviously think that it would take something like this to get them together. I mean, let's face it, they tried the quiet approach, (hermione asking Ron to Slughorn's party) and that didn't work. So let's see some fur flying, yeah? Thanks for the review.
that was so beautiful i'm litteraly crying. i am giong to be reading your next fanfic.(sniff, sniff)
Author's Response: Aw, thanks. Repeat business is always welcome. As my good friend Icenineiv tells me, I do raw emotion really well. For me, it's a combination of letting the characters write themselves, and jumping into their skin. I need to feel the emotions or it's not right.
what a great story! i love that song
Author's Response: Thank you. I used to love the song, but now I kind of don't anymore. But my girlfriend and I... well, it's still the kind of song that gets us, but there's a huge backstory there.
OMG! ..I am at a loss of words that seen between Ron and Hermione was GREAT! I was crying and gripping the edge of my seat! When he walked away from her I felt her pain but then he came back and kissed her and all is right in the world. You are a great writer!
Author's Response: Thank you so much. I'm glad that you singled out Ron leaving. That was tough for me to pull off. I had to get him pissed off enough to walk away despite Hermione's admission. I did it that way because I wanted Hermione to be the one that called him back. I have a great respect for Ron's character. I happen to think he is quite intelligent in a rough way, but he really is emotionally inept. Not to say that hermione is beter, she may understand her own emotions better, but she fails in her inability to communicate or sometimes to even act maturely on that knowledge. So to me the real big deal was to have Hermione reach out, and to have Ron actually acquiesce. Thanks for the review.
This was really fitting. I hardly needed the lyrics written into the story I know that song so well. It definitely fits their relationship. I liked the dynamics of your story and how you provided a desire for each year of school (H). And the whole stopping the entire party for a fight; totally a Ron/Hermione quality. Very nice.
Author's Response: Thank you, as I go back and reread it, I think you are right, i think the lyrics aren't necessary, and maybe that's why I've been commented so much about this as a songfic. Because to me, the music was just a backtracking really, it gave me the tempo and rhythm of the fighting and everything, but it doesn't tell the story. When it came to the fight, and what each character would say, and what issue would be brought up, it really was a matter of just looking back over the books. i think I had them say their feelings developed a little earlier than I personally believe they did, but you know, even going back that far kind of helps the reader understand that this relationship is a long time coming. As for stopping the party, the thing with that is, we see the stories through Harry's point of view. that being said, we don't know how other people see Ron and Hermione. We really don't know if EVERYONE expects them to get to gether or if no one does. So for me, doing it as such was not just a show of how much passion they had for each other, but also a way to put it in front of EVERYONE. Thank you so much for the review.
Okay, I havn't actually read this yet, but I have to say:
THANK YOU soo much for your author's note in the beginning. I can't tell you how many times I've found an author with a number of stories in an arc but with no listing of the proper order. Sometimes there will be 10 one-shots and no way to know which to read when! Already you've made quite the impression [on me]. Here I go to the actual story...
Author's Response: That's exactly why I put that in there, so thank you and you're welcome. Story line wise, ithink you could manage reading things out of order, as I really don't think I construct very complex plots, but for me, theme and such really are important, and I try to build upon those themes and motifs throughout the progression of my stories, so that's really why I did it. Hope you enjoy it...
Oh my gosh! I'm not kidding there were tears in my eyes. I would have been bawling if I was alone. I love it! Oh PUHLEAZE do more! If this was your fist, I can't wait to see more. I'm going to go check for more of yours right now. Well, right after I add this to my favorites.
Author's Response: Well, looks like I finally get a chance to get caught up on my responses, so, first, thank you so much for checking in and leaving a review. It's kind of funny, actually, lots has happened since I wrote this and in a way I'm a little amazed that it ever got approved with all the mistakes, and there's one line in there that really makes me cringe. But yeah, I still am kind of proud of my first outing into fanfic world. And yes, there are many more, though I'm kind of on hiatus right now, so my current fic is in limbo.
wow... yet again... an amazing stoyr from you... tis emed like a fairy tale. thank you so much for writing his and making me read it even though i was in the middle of your other story.... you are amazing
Author's Response: Thank you so much. You know, I just... Look, I have thank you so much ingrained in my fingers I type it so much, and this may seem like a weird response but you'll really have to forgive me, I'm pretty much in an awful state of mind right now. But you know... I write this stuff because I wish it was what I had, I wish I had passion instead of the cold emotionless crap of a relationship I've had for the last nine years. So yeah, that's where this comes from because I know I can write and because I'm so hard up for actual passion that I have to write it in a silly little fanfic. I'm really glad you liked it, and I'm really sorry if this comes off as rude, but that's what this is.
One of the best Ron versus Hermione angst/love scenes I have ever read.
Author's Response: Thank you very much. I loved writing this one, and to be honest, as much as most of my stuff is H/G, I really do prefer writing these two. It's just that this was kinda it for me really... Thank you so much.
Awww... You know I usually don't support R/Hr but this was so cute and it seemed like this is what would really happen in the book. WRITE A NOVEL!!! AND TELL ME WHAT'S IT CALLED SO I CAN GO OUT AND READ IT!!!
Author's Response: Okay, this is just getting embarrassing, I seriously don't know how to take this. Why does everyone keep insisting I write a novel???? I can't handle that much good attention. I need someone to say I suck, please. Thanks for the review. I would direct you to my livejournal for even more stuff, but it's gotten a little out of control lately.
WOW i loved this short little romatic fic ! I just had to say that what you wrote is almost exactly how i want r/hr to get together i always wanted them to have one last big huge row before they kissed and get together finally! i really hope when JKR and if she does i hope she writes them geting together that it will be simar to this story. i thought you wrote out each chacters personality pefectly i loved it.! well thanks for writhing this amazing story and i really do love this one cause i have already read it 3 times and still do . anyway loved this story and thank you again for writng it!!
Author's Response: three times??? Are you serious? that's awesome. I'm so glad you dig it that much I really do, and it was my pleasure writing it. I guess all I can really do is plug the rest of my stories. This is really just the first in the chain, I guess. You can read One Good Day,and Epilogues Part I and II.
I don't even know if you're still reading these but I don't really care for this has to be said. This fic was a masterpiece. Absolutly flawless. I've read some of your other stuff but this was just unimaginable. Your choise of words was superb, it was unlike anything I have read on Mugglenet. Please keep writting for the sake of fabulouse writting. (Sorry for my spelling errors. I can say the words, but I can't spell them.) Love Always...
Author's Response: Of course I still read these, and I'm absolutely amazed at your words. This was my first, and in some ways it's my favorite. It definitely was probably my rawest writing experience. I first had the spark one day, and for about a day and a half I told myself, "You will not write fanfiction, you will not write fanfiction" and then a few days later I was listening to the song, and I couldn't stop anymore, and three hours later, there it was. It's an honor that you enjoyed it so much, thank you.
Wow man you really hit all the characters on spot and put some new energy in to the r/h relationship srry i acctually read this fic two days ago but was to busy to review (srry bout that) but when i finished i was thinking that this was the perfect and probably the only way ron and hermione would get together. Though i gotta say that there probably wasnt enough h/g in this fic but this was all about ron and hermione and i like the way it turned out
Great job I've read all your fics and each one is as gnarly as the last 10/10
Author's Response: Well, thank you immensely. I really appreciate it. Though about the H/G... Well, to be honest, this fic was only ever intended to be Ron and Hermione, but when I sat down to write it, this being my first fic and all I needed a way to frame everything, and put it from Harry's POV, and out popped the little miniature Harry ginny scene.
That was awesome!! I absolutely love that song, and your fic just made it better!!
Author's Response: Well now, thank you ever so kindly. I think I kinda know what you mean. To be honest, I should be tired of that song by now, but every time I hear it now, this story plays in my head, and it makes it better.
I am usually not a huge fan of songfics, but you wrote this extremely well. The plot was enough to stand on its own, but the overture the song gave it fit it perfectly. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Author's Response: Well, thank you so much. At one point I considered taking the lyrics out for the reason that no one likes songfics and because I thought I had a stand alone plot, but in the end, I owed the story to the song, so the song had to be part of the story. Thanks for the review, I appreciate it.
BRAVO!!! Great story!!! Absolutely fantastic! Tear, tear!
Author's Response: Heh... truly glad you liked it. Would tell you to read the rest, but I guess you already did! Thank you.
That was wonderful! John referred me to you (author of 'Heart of the Hero') and I had to take the time to read your stuff- and boy am I glad I did. It's brilliant.
As a rule, I can't stand songfics, so I never read them. But I made the exception, and it was worth it to break all the rules. Well done!
Author's Response: Wow, gotta remember to thank John for sending more readers my way. Okay, well, I really appreciate it, and I just gotta say, I'm really glad I broke my own rules to write this. Anyway, this is only the first in a long series, I hope you know. None of the rest of them are songfics too, so that's a bonus. Well, thanks for the review, and I hope to catch you for the rest of my stories.
man that was some real emotion there. very nice writing. keep it up.
Author's Response: Well, thank you, I really do intend to... keep it up that is. In fact, this is only the beginning, and there are currently three other fics that all follow this one, so I'd love it if you checked those out too.
Even though JK will be rewriting the wedding scene, I think that if it makes me smile even half as much as this did that it'll be a brilliant chapter. That fight was very in character, so many people miss the mark with Ron and Hermione but this was spot on. I was smiling from ear to ear, thanks for that, best smile i've had all day.
Author's Response: Thank you so much. Being compared to JK is probably one of the best compliments to get, so this means a lot. I'm really glad you like it and hope you'll read all three sequels that are currently up (this is only the first story I've written, and all my stories build on each other). Again, thank you.
