Merlin. That is one of the best Harry/Hermione's I have ever read. Just beautifully bitter and tragic.

I loved your use of colour to show what her world is like. How she had forgotten how to smile, how to feel anymore... that was so sad! I love your writing style!

"But unlike colors or the lost ability to smile, it had been burned into my memory."

Wow, this is truly amazing, Haley. I never knew you were multi-talented. :)

“In order to win in the big picture, you must lose in all the smallest, but more beautiful details.”...your prose is brilliant. Suffice to say you truly earned your way onto my 'favorite authors' list.

Author's Response: Why, thank you so much! I'm quite honored. Thank you thank you :)

i loved it....i feel lost like that too sometimes......but not as lost as if I'd seen death...noone wants to see that....

Author's Response: No, no one does... but it's inevitable. What I wanted to show in this story is that as hard as things get, there is always something that can bring warmth to the world again. I'm glad you loved it, thank you for reviewing!

Your story brought forth overwhelming emotions. I felt like crying, but then I felt the love wash over Hermione and I wanted to smile.

What I wouldn't give to hear a few of both Harry and Hermione's thoughts when she tumbled off the cliff.

Author's Response: I'm so glad that this fic was able to affect you in so many ways... that gives me confidence as a writer. Thank you!

Gahh, that smiley is getting me into trouble. I think that the site thinks it is part of a code and then all the text after it just disappears. Fortunately, I had copied it just in case something like this happened (already lost more than one review like this :/ ), so I'll just paste the last part:

"[Evil smiley here] Ah, I rambled again, sorry. Anyhow, very good job, QueenHal. And I'm being honest. I'm not saying it just because it's you :) 10/10 if we still had the rating system!

Author's Response: Oh my goodness! That was a truly exceptional review... thank you so incredibly much. Your words mean a ton to me, and certainly have made me evaluate how I write certain things... again, thank you so much for your insight and ramblings. They make my day every time I read them

Hey, QueenHal! I bet you were losing your faith on me, right? But no! I said I would review, and review I shall...

I might as well start from the beginning. Well, to be honest, I didn't know which of your stories to review. Each one of them called me for one reason or another, but I had left this one out purposely. Maybe you don't know it, but I'm a H/G shipper :) Yet, curiosity finally got the best of them.

Ah, what can I say? This is, honestly, the first H/Hr story I have ever liked. Believe me, I'm not just saying it; I really like it! The words literally reflect Hermione's pain and her internal and constant struggle with herself. I was impressed by how easily you described the emotions, and yet we had a much more detailed vision of the things.

Let me grab a piece :) :"The color green had faded from the memory of the world, and the laughing hues of the flowers had become only mere myth." Ah, this simple line gives so much insight of the whole atmosphere of the story. It was enought to really get me into it.

"But unlike colors or the lost ability to smile, it had been burned into my memory. I saw it now as I saw the others, jagged, pink, and not unlike a lightning bolt." I can't really tell why this blew me away, but it somehow touched me. Maybe it is because it shows how much they really know each other, or how closely they are bonded.

“I would and I'm saying it now. I love you.” This particular scene was very strong. I liked Hermione's denial and resistance to her own heart, and how Harry pushes and pushes farther and deeper.

“Harry stop!” I broke away, and began to run along the edge of the cliff. I have to be honest with you... I thought this part was somehow... weird. Maybe not weird, but odd (forgive my poor choice of words :P ). The thing is that I found it a tad strange her reaction. I know she probably must have been scared of listening to those words and letting herself lose in it, but I can't shake the feeling it was strange. However, what develops from this action was quite exceptional.

"And when I hit a ledge halfway down the cliff side, bones within me broke, and yet I didn't cry. I was numb." Ahh, I loved this part! The way you portrayed her numbness and the little she cared or noticed the physical pain... it was just incredible. Creepy... and very deep.

The next line could be the most significant one of the whole story (of course, that's my humble opinion :D), “Let me love you.” That line alone expressed the whole conflict within Hermione, the reason of all her distress. I don't know if I'm even being logical (I hope I am, but sometimes it is hard to express what you feel from a story). For me, that line was the peak of the plot, one of those moments where you have to decide something that will change your life forever.

Ah, I think I got pretty excited writing this review :) Anyway, as I said before, I loved this one-shot. It's the first (and maybe the only one) story I've truly enjoyed of H/Hr. And it's not that I plainly dislike any ship that isn't cannon (I shipped H/G before it became cannon; thought I would clear that up :P ), but I don't enjoy them like a H/G or R/Hr fic (although I can't say I enjoy all H/G fics >.

*gasp* Wow. I mean ... wow. That was truly beautiful. I'm a very avid H/Hr shipper and this fic just hit home. I adored it. It was written beautifully, with so much feeling and emotion and you had me in tears by the end. I'm just sorry it wasn't longer or that I hadn't read this before. *sigh* Wonderful. Rating-10

Author's Response: When I get amazing reviews like this, I get all tingly inside. Thank you so much :) I had never really considered H/Hr before writing this.. and I have to say, it turned me around. I'm] touched that it hit you so deeply! Thank you for reading <3

Oh, I like this. It's a gentle treatment of the Harry/Hermione ship. I can believe Hermione's numbness. I could read more stories like this.

Author's Response: Eee thank you! Lovely compliment :)

That was beautiful. I love the imagery at the beginning and I can't believe how you can put such emotions into words. I know in good reviews you're supposed to put in constructive critisism, but I don't feel I am a good enough writer at all to critisize this outstanding piece of writing. It's so emotional, so stark, but at the same time so magical and... I love it.
*tear falls from eye*

Author's Response: Wow thank you :) I sincerely appreciate this! Thank you thank you thank you!

Wow. What a truly emotional story. I couldn't even write a review 2 minutes after I finished it - the effect was that profound. Wow.

You presented these characters in a way no one has done before. I had never really thought that Hermione would lose control over herself like that. Sure, anyone can, but not our Hermione.
I really liked this sentence: “In order to win in the big picture, you must lose in all the smallest, but more beautiful details.

It's so true! I really love how you turned such a small detail into this wonderful, lasting story. Everything focuses on it, subtly and distinctly at the same time. Not many authors can write such a stunning piece of fiction. I really enjoyed reading it. ;)

Author's Response: Thank you Periwinkle, thank you! It's hard to think of Hermione falling apart... but I hope I did her character justice all the same. Much love!

Wow! That was really good. And the way you wrote it, your use of words and emotionless emotions was so perfect. It was written very very well. If we could still give ratings...it would definately be a ten!!! Not to mention i'm a big H/Hr fan.

Author's Response: Thank you, dear :) You're too sweet. Glad you enjoyed it so much!

Wow, Haley, that was so different! So beautiful, it made me think of a different kind of relationship; not at all platonic. As callmehermione said, i don't usually read H/Hr, but Huggin' Turnips is my game, and i thought you deserved a review! I loved how you included the title so simply into the last sentence, that really sums up the story. Well done on a great one-shot!

Author's Response: Thank you Lurid! I appreciate it greatly :)

I don't usually read Harry/Hermione but this one would change my mind. It was unbelievably poignant, I could really see the desolation Hermione was feeling and what's more I could feel it. I usually feel that Hermione is the optimistic one, it was nice to see that that job fell to Harry for once. I don't think anyone wants to think that Hermione could be the one to fall apart.

Bravo Haley, this was a wonderful read!

Author's Response: Oh wow! This is a great compliment... I'm honored and rather breathtaken. Thank you so incredibly much! No one wants to see Hermione fall apart... but I have a nagging feeling that she's not as strong as she makes everyone believe. She strings herself so tightly that one day she'll snap -- which is what's happened here, but in a more gradual sense. It would be interesting to write the backstory for this someday...

I really love how you portrayed Harry. A lot of people either write him as this complete jerk, or this over-emotional head case. You've got it perfect thought, I believe. He is strong and has seen more than his fair share of war, but he is still vunerable when it comes to the people he loves. And that vunerability, for some reason I don't think that is a weakness, I think that only makes him stronger. Great! 10/10 I'll be reading more of yours soon : )

Author's Response: Awww how sweet! I'm glad you like my Harry -- I'm quite proud of him, actually. Thank you for reading, and even more for reviewing,
